I don't think that's a great idea. If they did that and you get say, 800 points in each spot, that's 4,000 dilithium for a little more than five minutes of work (each mining spot takes a minute, plus walking usually puts me around 6 to 7 minutes). That's half your refining limit, and you've barely done anything!
It Does not appear to be profitable, however, I would like to see dilithium power ships...not act as crystal coins. However that being said under current system, a one to one point to D/C ratio would be good, but only if mining were open 24 hours a day instead of daily. Then you could make it where you no longer have a daily limit. if you open the limit cap on D/C that may help reduce flux in pricing if people are aware they are not restricted in how much they can earn and say maybe 1 D/C per 2 points?
I CAN SEE WHERE YOU DON'T WANT IT TOO EASY, in how many points per second, but however since we are the captains of our ships, we should be able to mine whenever we want instead of a daily mining event. Another idea to get dilithium started in obtaining easily for players would be to place one crystal per xp as you play the game.
Think about it like this: if I blow up a Romulan Warbird and get say 10 Skill points, I should get 10 crystals from that ships cargo hold...after all that Warbird no longer needs them! Ha,ha,ha!! Then after player reaches V.A. then player gets split between Boff XP and dilithium or 2 Boff XP where the player can turn it off or on based on demand. We may as well as put those extra XP to work by either getting ONE D/C and ONE Boff XP or 2 Boff XP.

I don't think you understand how the dilithium market works.
First, you can only refine 8,000 dilithium a day per character. You can already hit this mark by running daily and duty officer missions even if you don't do the dilithium mining mission. You also get dilithium from STFs. The 8,000 dilithium limit helps to control the market and keep the dilithium value from dropping.
Second, dilithium has a real world value because it can be exchanged for zen, which allows silver players to acquire zen without using the offers (which can be buggy, sometimes don't pay out, etc.). Opening the dilithium mining to be 24 hours or making it a one-to-one ratio will cause a sudden influx of dilithium into the market. You do not want this. It will cause dilithium's value to drop drastically, making your mining and other activities less profitable, particularly if you sell your dilithium for zen.
Think of it like the government simply printing more money. The value of the currency plummets because there's too much of it.
As for dilithium powering the ships in game and getting dilithium from the enemies you defeat... use your imagination. :P
Dilithium is fine as it is now; if it's changed, another currency will just take its place, which will just confuse people.
By the way, starship captains have rules they have to obey too. You can't just go mine a planet because you command a starship.
People still bother dilithium mining? I tried it when it came out, and it gave out such a pathetic amount of dilithium compared to the effort put in that I've not bothered going back since. There are far easier, and more enjoyable ways to earn dilithium.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

You can mine at any time, no need to wait for the event as long as the mission isn't on cooldown. The mining event only boosts the amount of dilithium ore awarded.

Quite honestly, it's fine the way it is.

I can make more Dilithium bye doing other stuff like take STFs i do Elites 1,100 Per Stf.
And on top of this you can only refine 8,000 per day as is any way.
And you probably get more Dilithium From Doing Doff missions lol witch is funny.
