Ok im leveling up in STO and i was wondering when i'd be able to get a defiant class, intrepid class or a galaxy class starship in STO oh and i was also wondering if im still able to play STO before the update begins today

    I can't answer your question about the update - it'll begin when it begins - but you will qualify for the Tactical Escort (Defiant), Exploration Cruiser (Galaxy) and Long Range Science Vessel (Intrepid) at Captain rank, which is about level 30.

    You'll only get one of them for free though (your choice), and will have to pay Dilithium if you want another. Alternatively you can buy one of the refits off the store for Zen and claim or re-claim it as soon as you can fly it.

    If I can make a suggestion...If you plan on using DHC's in any of your builds I would suggest buying the Sau Paulo refit version of the Defiant. It comes with the Quad Cannons and they are extremely powerful. They level with you all the way to vice admiral. Also, the extra skin is nice.

    Apart from the Connie, all the really iconic types seem to come in around captain rank, IE level 30.
