The wide-angle torpedo and the turn-rate is perfect for each other, because you'll be turning 99.9 percent of the time with that turn-rate.

Love the stats on the ship, I'm definitely buying ASSUMING that I can use the existing assault cruiser skins on it... I do not care for the new regent styling in the least.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the standard for each new refit? New skin but the old ones still work on it?

I'm sure I'll get it, but I will admit I was hoping for about one more point of maneuverabilty.

By technicality, yes. By playstyle, that extra point makes a lot of difference ;) I wish the Odyssey had 7 turn rate, but I understand why it doesn't, considering it's size.

I agree... Waiting for this ship from +2 years for finally thbedroomversion of the normal ship just with a switch of BO... But of course we need to pay this one for the console/torp for the future Fleet version...
Really this stuff worth 2500z ? The future will tell us, but the truth is this ship price is sent to 3000z for the Fleet version, because buy just the Z-Store version don't give really more of a RA ships (yes, except the console/torp).

So, ok I'm angry at the moment, but I can understood you want to keep the better version for the Fleet version, but the real question/problem is :
Why we pay 2500z for this ship when all others VA ships with only 9 consoles are at 2000z ?

I hope the Fleet version will have good reasons to pay this price.

    P.S. : I hope my English wasn't too poor.

The ship is to expensive, none of these ships should be over 1200 or 1500 zen
    when I think of the new tier 5 assault crusier;
    1. Universal boff slots that matter and all 5 slots should be universal commanders as should any ship that is rear admiral or higher (to truly have full customization.)

    2. Consoles should be universal across all ships for balance, unique items should not exist on things we are paying real money for. (that goes double for the gouging price this ship is set at)

    3. Tier 5 ships should have 5 forward and rear weapon slots, 5 console slots of each type,
    and 5 device slots.

    4. The ships look, hull rate, and truly universal consoles and unrestricted weapons should be the incentive to purchase a reasonably priced ship (2500 unreasonable).

The boff slots should all be the highest rank possible according to tier. I.E. tier 5 all universal, commanders, tier 4,1 commander and 4 Lt commanders and so forth. Boff layout should never come into question buying a ship, all classes should be able to fully customize and equip there ship with captains customized boffs.

    5. I am the I told you so guy, so please just do it right the first time and stop pissing people off.

Kudos to the ship artists, they did a beautiful job. Now if the rest of Cryptic could use some foresight and get on the right page, because they are the Borg Queen behind the times in comparision to future Admiral Janeway........

    Thank you.

Personally I have been waiting for the Sovreign refit for a long time, and when I saw they made the Regent class I felt giddy and excited. but much to my disapointment I saw it was 2,500 zen...really for one costume 1 console and 1 weapon? I mean sure its a little bit of a bundle but hardly worth 2,500. with the nausican siege ship being that much the Regent doesnt exactly fit the bill of 2,500 zen.

Upon looking in the C-Store at other similarly priced ships, I have to think about this purchase a bit more!
On one hand: The Regent is not worth, in my own opinion, the same as the Odyssey Class which receives a special console and an extra Console upgrade spot along with its decent bridge office layout. Not to mention, better Statistics all around.

However, the Regent is the same price as the Dreadnought Galaxy X cruiser but with an arguably much better Bridge Officer Layout. Heck, I’d pay another 2500 Zen to just get the same bridge officer layout as the regent on my Dreadnaught Galaxy X cruiser. Oh the havoc! Oh the wondrous things I could do with a Lieutenant Commander and Universal Bridge Officer on my Galaxy X. Oh well.

Between my Stipend and just playing 2-2.5 hours a day I earn around 3,000 Zen per month, so I get a free ship every month. Even playing 1 hour and only earning 1,750 Zen per month means the ship would only cost me $7.50. The Torp and Console are worth that much - especially since it means I'll probably only need to pay $5.00 for a Fleet Assault Cruiser in the future. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

People have been complaining about the price, keep in mind that this ship has TWO sepcial consoles, the Metreon Canister and the Quantum torpedo turret.

Personally, that makes this worth the extra 500 Zen for me. And I already decided I was going to get it when I realised it gave me the metreon canister.

I'm SOOO replaying the Briar Patch Mission with this! Though I'm debating whether to use the Sovereign Skin or the Regent skin. Both ships look beautiful, but I really love the Sovereign...

Ah well, I won't spend ?20 on this. I'll spend ?15 once I get my stipend and then I'll have some points left for something else! (Definitely NOT the EV suits!)

I notice that Cryptic has been going through the Next Gen and later behind the scenes for ship designs. The Hegh'ta is based on John Eaves retro Bird of Prey design that wasn't used in Enterprise. Some of the Tactical Escorts were earlier versions of the Defiant. Well played. I love it. You guys are allowing us to see some great designs in action, kudos to that.

And this Regent is the beta version of the Sovereign with the nacelle pylons. Now I and others have brought up the chicken in a pan thing about why that design wasn't chosen.

But I also still loved it, and I'm very happy you brought it back. Love what you've done with the saucer (except the interesting shape on the dorsal when viewed from the bow). BUT...that valley on the neck spine connection. That my friends is art and is my favorite part of the ship. I'm gonna integrate that into my Noble when I buy this ship....still a ways away, but I'm in. I imagine that there is a Fleet version in the pipeline too. A Fleet Version which will likely be my ultimate ship on my primary character.

That said, I still hope you guys can find the time to do the Nemesis refit of the Sovereign, the integrated neck :druuul

I like the Wide Angle Torpedo launcher, though I too wish for the rapid fire, I'm cool with it. It will make it far easier to hit and bring the assault back to the assault cruiser. A curious solution.

And to UssUltimatum the turn rates they need to look at are in Nemesis.

And an idea for the Fleet Version. How about a weapons bonus for beam weapons. If the balancing opinion on the company side, is that Cruisers have to be slow turning tanks, at least give us a boost to the beams we have to rely on so that they can tear apart our enemies. Make the Assault Cruiser something to be feared.
I just hope KDF will get some kind of retrofit like this... Not knocking the ship at all because I like it... Just to provide more options for our flagships in the form or cannon and torpedo use.
I'd love to see a Boss refit for the Hegh'ta :D

It was a poorly written watered down lovey-dovey TNG movie (Twilight has a better love story). It really marked the demise of the the TNG movies ending with Nemesis as the final nail. Picard dancing, worfs pimple, Beverlies granie TRIBBLE, the manual override joy-stick, picard and worf singing? What is it a musical? It is a cringe worthy movie.

No need to be insulting to either franchise. And if Picard and Anij had had a torrid passionate love affair it would've displaced the rest of the movie, seemed incredibly out of place, and frankly been out of character for Picard the Reserved.

And Star Trek The Next Generation had a long and documented love affair with classical theater. Consider the actors involved.

Nemesis was a good movie heading towards great movie, until they let Stuart Baird into the editing room, cutting out all the character scenes, robbing us of the character and family interactions that built the franchise . It needed another half an hour of character time.

I didn't say it was great. Not bad, as in not as bad as the Galaxy. None of the cruisers T-4 and above have a turnrate better than 8, and most of them are 7.

If 7 is "second worst", it's also "second best". So, for a cruiser, 7 is not bad.

Why should I replace my Excelsior with the Assault Cruiser Refit? I am glad the DEVs didn't do anything that would make me regret buying the Excelsior, but they also didn't do anything that would make want to buy the Assault Cruiser Refit.

The LT Universal here is really an illusion of flexibility. I think most people are going to run a Science BOFF there. I believe the ENS Tactical is just marginally more useful than the ENS Engineering is in the Excelsior. Are the z-store ship gadgets worth 2500 Zen?

*Metreon Gas Canisters Console Mod (Only goes on Assault Cruisers)
*Wide Angle Quantum Torpedo Launcher [Acc] [CrtH] [Arc]
(Can go on any other ship, but am I really going to want to use it?)
Maybe if there was 1 Fore and 1 Aft.

My BOFF Preference would have been this.

CDR Engineering | LCDR Tactical | LT Science | LT Universal | ENS Universal
Give the ship (base turn of 8) a +

It would not have outclassed the other Z-store cruisers, but it would have given it a focus (tac) while adding some real flexibility and it would have been enough to make me want it without the gadgets.

If I had not already bought the Advanced Heavy Cruiser Retrofit I would think about getting Assault Cruiser Refit.

wont buy it. i have almost every ship from z store and this is where i stop spending money for this company. if a ship would cost me 5euro (i think around 8 USD) i wouldnt have a problem with it but i sometimes pay as much as a new pc-game just for ONE ship. i wont buy anything else, even if my ship will get worse and worse because of this cryptic tactic to always pull out something that you really need to stay on top. they wont see one USD from me anymore. i am very disappointed (not the first customer, not the first time).

ps: someone really should check the forum/server settings. i cant even make the euro sign and stuff.. seems to be an utf8 problem and someone put in a wrong database charset.
    What ? Calaway.

The more i look at the pictures of this ship, the more i like it.
Unlike the Odyssey, this ship(model) is much better balanced, more sturdy looking and also elegant.
I especially like the top and the side view.
Nacelles, Saucer, Engineering Hull and Pylons form a unit, similar like the Galaxy Class does. I must admit that this is by far the best Cryptic made model i have seen.
It is beautiful, creative without being boring or being over the top.
From what i can see at the pictures, the model artist found the exact right proportions between Saucer, Nacelles and Hull. None of those parts are disproportionate big.

    Nicely done Model!
(I never thought i would think that about a cryptic made ship, i'm glad to be proven wrong)
:) Give us more ship models like this !!!! :)

I can't wait to experiment with the other Assault Cruiser ship parts, but i think i'll keep that ship as it is.

Question: will the Imperial Ship parts be useable with this model too?
I ask because i am curious if the Imperial Nacelles will look good at this ship.

But hmmm a 10th console slot is a must have on these ships

    3 tactical
    3 science
    4 engineering

    or 4 tac 4 eng 2 sci

You are not giving me a reason to buy it :(
i have the c store oddysey and i also have the tholian recluse carrier
both have 10 console slots and both have a more flexible boff roster.

If i buy it it will just be for the nice look :)

I 100% agree on st nemesis, if they left in the deleted scenes in and made some changes it would be even better than it is. To me it seemed to short. Apparently they were planning to make star trek 11 another TNG movie but they changed their minds. Since this was going to be the last TNG they should of went all out. O well maybe we will get another TNG one I hope in some way or form.

Also the Aft view of teh regent reminds of of the aft view of the E from nemesis

I am a lot happier with this BO layout than the fleet version we saw on tribble. As far as the new look, while it is nice, I am not 100% sure that this should have been the sovy refit. I will wait until I see it in game tomorrow before I really decide on that. I am however happy that this ship gets two perks, both the launcher and the console. I just wish that we had a bridge for it now, either the same or very close to what we have seen from the movies. Either the Nemesis skin for the ship or a few touch ups to the one that we have would be nice also. (ie lighter hull material, actual starfleet markings, etc)
