I recently bought the multi vector advanced escort, which is a cool ship, but during space battles, I realized that the other two segments can be disabled fairly quickly. The AI of the other segments are kind of dumb. I have lost segments because they were flying too close to a ship that just exploded. I also noticed the difficulty in attempting to regenerate shields and repairing the hull in other segments. I have to click on them before doing so. During space battles, especially against more than one enemy, it can become kind of difficult. I wanted to know if there's a strategy behind using the mvae. I really like the ship, I just want to be able to preserve all segments. Thanks in advance.
TBH, I personally only use the splitting for the turn rate buff and the power buff to certain systems. The other segments only do marginal damage and while the attack patterns they provide are nice, I only spare them a heal if I have no other priorities at the time. It's best not to worry about the other parts of the ship.

Thanks for the reply. You make a great point. I do worry about the other segments. I will take your advice and not put too much focus on them. It makes a lot more sense and it would be a lot more fun than to constantly check the other segments to ensure survival. Thanks again
Agreed, if they live it's a bonus if they die forget about it.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
Hazard Emitters and Transfer Shield Strength are probably better choices for an MVAE. And TSS can heal your shields or your pets.

That would probably work well yes. The main reason I mention Extend Shields is because it lasts so long, and its animation makes it easy to tell when it's no longer active. That makes it easier for me to use while also having to concentrate on other things during the battle.

Thanks for restating, I looked it up and I had no idea, I assumed that it was a science skill, and I couldn't find it. I am definitely going to use it. It sounds pretty efficient when using the mvae. Thanks for clarifying on that

Couldn't have said it any better
The only thing I can think of that might help would be to roll a Science captain and use the defensive field.
Thanks for letting me know. I will definitely do that when I begin to play my science toon.
