I'm sure some of us (if not most) have watched the Star Trek TV shows prior to playing this game. And among all those shows are episodes you'd like to try to play out. So... which ones would you like your ship captain to experience?
For me, it would have to be...
Enterprise: Dead Stop. Creepy automated space station which offers to fix your ship for a deal that's too good to be true...
and TOS: The Immunity Syndrome. I'd probably fail the space mission vs the Giant Space Amoeba because the first thing I'd do is shoot it... O_O
*sings* "I like Gammera! He's so neat!!! He is full of turtle meat!!!"
"Hah! You are doomed! You're only armed with that pathetic excuse for a musical instrument!!!" *the Savage Beast moments before Lonnehart the Bard used music to soothe him... then beat him to death with his Fat Lute*
I would like to play a version of Voyager's Good Shepard - where the Captain rounds up a group of failing/obscure crewman in order to not allow anyone to be "left behind". Typical crisis ensues and is overcome only by way of the Captain bringing together the various hodgepodge of clashing personalities and perceived limitations of the group - and having them work with one another.
I'd really like to see an official version using npc crewmen wearing your pre-designated shipwide uniform (if that tech EVER gets in). I'd even like a foundry version for now... *hint hint*.
Sacrifice of Angels would be a good one too. Be one of the fighter wings that goes in to tick off the Cardassians, or be one of the Defiant's escorts punching through the hole, or even be the Klingon's coming in at the last moment.
Now that would be a fun one to play just for fun.
Make good use of the Klingon/Federation Academy Holodecks: Participate in battles or situations that the Great Captains of the Past had to go through kind of thing.
I remember a Foundry Mission someone made dealing with Redemption Pt 1&2 if I remember the episode correctly. The one where Worf joins Gowron during the brief Klingon Civil War.
It was a great Foundry Mission.
So yea, if the Devs could add something like that into STO as little side activities, I'm sure a LOT of people would be thrilled. I know I would be.
I'd like to play Endgame. Flying through a nebula towards a Borg transwarp hub, one shotting cubes with transphasic torpedoes in your ablative armor Intrepid, 29 ships or so firing on one borg sphere... I can see how you might be albe to work a little foundry magic for most of the episode but the ending, I don't know how you're going to get a bunch of ships shooting at one borg sphere doing no damage (until your Intrepid blows it up inside with a transphasic torpedo).
I would honestly prefer it if this question was turned around.
"What Star Trek Online mission would you like to see in a future Star Trek episode?"
To answer my own question, foundry missions. The cream of the crop of the foundry missions. To me, the people who make these understand Star Trek more than the Cryptic devs who made the story missions.
Seriously, A Will and a Barclay was amazing and hilarious. Case and Effect (or whatever is the name of the one where you are caught in a temporal loop) is written in a way that makes it seem as if it was an actual Star Trek episode, and is by far my favorite mission yet. The people responsible for these foundry missions need to be hired to write future Star Trek episodes (assuming a new season of Star Trek ever airs).
As for another episode from TOS that I'd like to try out as a mission, it would be "Arena". I'd like to see it remastered of course as the Mythbusters proved that Kirk's cannon would've killed him instead of the gorn. Now if you made a bomb full of diamond shrapnel instead of a cannon and threw it at the Gorn instead...

Hehe, it has a decent reason to only have a handful of chars fighting a hostile force.

Oh wait, we already have that one...
Just so one of the BOs can say "By Grabthar's Hammer... what a savings."

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take part in the K-7 Brawl? Or stand in that line-up and say to Kirk "I don't know, sir"?
Or we could do something different, but in the style of "Trials and Tribble-ations", by basically narrating it to someone else.

Had to fix your link there.
