Just an idea for a game event. Let's say for 2 - 7 days on.
KDF invades Sirius sector and unless it is constantly defended by fed players everything in Sirius sector does not work. Not even a boff trainer on ESD.
How's that for a game content?
There could be a mirror event Fed's invade Omega Leonis, but I'm sure they will not bother

but the pwn and chaos that will ensue will be fun for all sides I'm sure
It'll never be done, but I'd like to see how the balance would work out on it. Even with multi-faction players playing their KDFs more, Starfleet would probably have a numerical advantage. But for the most part, I don't think end level Starfleet officers don't base themselves in Sirius, so there'd only be ones there for DOff recruitment or specifically going there for the fight.
not the main sirius sector.
yes yes yes!
Omega Leonis is a very fed friendly area all the time we're waiting for them to come
There would be no point to any of it.

Gotta be important sector. Who will bother defend or attack Iota Pavlionis for example? Who really bother going there except crafters? And they don't put up much of the fight most of the times.
Gotta be someting ppl consider important.
Glorious epic battle with something real at stake? What could be more fun than that?

Every kill a faction gets gives them 1 point, and those points are tallied together (so every fight matters). Scores would be reset at the end of each week so neither faction can get an unassailable lead.
Which ever faction has the most points at the time a battle starts gets a minor boost to damage or health (or both). Maybe you could even make it so that only the faction that's currently winning the war can deploy turrets during a fight due to "logistical difficulties getting supplies to the front lines" or something.
While it sounds fun, I think they shouldn?t put any rescources into a short-time event, for which they will most likely earn rage at epic dimensions. I remember when Blizzard tried something similar on WoW, where they had a short event in which people could be turned into zombies involuntairly. They stopped the event after a very short time, because of all the rage and hate they recieved.
Basic territory control is a good idea but currently don't make an invasion of the Sirius sector block or Q'onos a PvP event. Make it tiered PvE, and not impossible, so something is at stake but it is almost guaranteed that the players will succeed in repelling the invasion. I made another thread similar to this in the PvE feedback forum under Surprises. It would definitely give the game a much more real feel!
The wall of blue would overwhelm the KDF by day three.
This is true. Then what KDF players would do is cloak and hide until the feds get angry. Then pick off weak targets, basically it would be ker'rat.
In other words, your fleet declares war on {other-faction}.
I'd do it as such:
1. After a preparation time (2 days?) the invasion mode kicks in.
2. It'd be a seperate, special instance of {your-faction home map} that is not used by random players.
3. The special instance lasts for 2 days, or until one faction just completely WINS on points.
4. Your fleet has to defend it from any {other-faction} players that want to enter it.
5. Everyone in {other-faction} (up to a certain number at a time, based on your fleet size) would be able to use the PVP queues page, a new tab, to take your fleet on.
6. {your faction}/{other-faction} get points based on destroying enemy ships, performing patrols at systems in the special instance (when not being shot at in sector space), finding derilict ships in sector space and performing a mission to scavenge them, etc.
7. Based on which faction is winning, that entire faction gets a minor boost to say, sector space speed, or some other combo of minor/unimportant stats.
8. The buffs would be 2-day buffs, non-stacking.
Whatcha think?
