Defeating the project leader on Nukara alone

What exactly is supposed to happen when you tackle this hard exterior mission on Nukara alone?

I ask because out of curiosity, I tried it. And surprise, surprise, after I activated the panel and the project leader appeared, I defeated him. It took me a while, but wasn't difficult. He didn't fight, you see.

Just after he appeared, he gave me a couple blows, but when I started fighting, he just stopped doing anything. Is that a bug of some sort, or is he supposed to let himself defeat when facing not a team, but a lone attacker?

Note, even after defeating him and leaving the place under 60s, the mission didn't complete.

EDIT: Tried it twice. Same result.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    Same thing happened to me as well. He died and mission didn't complete. At first I was :eek: then I was :D then :confused: followed by :mad:

    I doubt that they meant to have a "Hard" level boss be defeatable by a single person. The stopping and purposely getting his TRIBBLE kicked and no completion is probably intended to keep individuals from farming anything out of him, rather than using a team like you're supposed to.

    I'm fine with not being able to complete the mission alone. I expected to be killed in a couple seconds. Then I'd just find a team, or forget about the mission. It just seems strange to let someone actually defeat the Tholian for no reward.

    Make the Tholian defend himself!
