Ok I saw this in the july 26 Release notes.

"Duty Officer Downgrade assignments will no longer fail to start."

Fail to start? I cant even find them to even look at the them. Are they in game on the Holodeck, or just on Tribble?

This ---^. I always fail to start them... because I can't find them / they don't exist.

Your quote is from the Tribble release notes. I didn't notice them in the holodeck notes, but if it is there, then someone didn't edit them closely enough when re-posting for the live release. Not that it will really help the starbase situation any, as the problem is really finite doffs, not too many greens, not enough whites. Unless, that is, they let us use the dil store doffs, in which case why not just give us access to white doffs in the dil store to begin with?

K I found it in the Release notes here at the top of the page. July 26 under systems, third one from the bottom.

Thanks I figured it might be only on tribble for now.

I had been assuming that they would be at SFA since the others are already there or maybe even tacked onto the personal npcs but no luck.

There is a named NPC in the desk in the main building of SFA, could that be where it will one day be? Not sure why the NPC has a name otherwise.

I;d have to look but there's a number of named NPCs at SFA that don;t interact. And other hubs as well.

This is going to be strange. I wonder if there will be a minor epidemic of Chief Petty Officers and such getting busted back down to Crewman just to fill fleet project requirements. :D

I like the idea of the downgrade system, but wouldn't been easier to just revise the Project system to allow higher quality DOFFs for lower rarity projects?

For instance, you could use a Rare DOFF or use 1 Uncommon and a 2 common DOFFs for the Tier 0 Projects.

Janeway held onto Kim as an Ensign and busted Paris back down but was too far AFK to contribute to her fleet project.

I look forward to being able to do this. I don't so much mind how many DOFFs we get, as if we can turn bound DOFFs into lower levels.

I am not exactly gonna be turning poor ole Gul Tain into a slew of redshirts, but all those old green DOFFs I've gotten from Lt. Ferra, but no longer really need, will those not be able to get split, or will they?

Also, is it gonna be totally random, or will we have some form of control over it?
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
