It seems now that I am into T1 and that they have made fleet marks harder to get I am wondering how many small fleets are seriously considering abondoning the base grind?
I am seroiusly wondering if the extra stats on some fleet ships are worth the time/money/dilth and struggle to get them.

How many small fleet people feel the same?
The Anti-Social Fleet of One will keep working towards the next tier, but not to the exclusion of doing other things. Casual contributions when spare doffs, resources available. Not going to grind just for the sake of filling projects.

For an anti-social fleet, that posting was rather social... just sayin....
My Klingon Fleet with 22 people is further along then my Fed Fleet with 130.
Right now it's a big race to be "cool" and be one of the first to get done, but no matter how much we rush it's still a 7 month process to get it done even for the fastest Fleet. Anything can happen in 7 months.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
lol most of rewards up to T3 are useless... I only wanted to grind to T2 to take a look at those advanced space weapons, but I'm almost sure they no better acc3/crtd3 stuff you can buy on exchange. if you sell all the sb resources.
Right now I considering simply quiting the game, because the company that runs it does not care about players, does not listen to them, and treat them simply as stupid grinding cash cows.
Not to mention releasing half baked, unbalanced content and forcing everyone to grind it for some potential rewards, which are kinda pale in comparison to existing cstore ships.
As a small fleet I can say that this project is meant to be a marathon and not a sprint. Right now people are racing to get this done. if you think you are going to burn out then slow down.
Slow and steady is still better then a quick teir 1/2 and finished.
The thing for me is that it takes a minimum of 7 months to get your Base finished. 7 months from now the game might have an expansion and 5 more levels added to it with T6 ships being sold in the C-Store. The big deal people are making about things right now is somewhat superfluous when you think about what the game might be 7 months from now.

I'm shooting for a Tier 3. I got the Upgrade from 0 to 1 Project earlier today. Just waiting for the Fleet Marks. I decided to go ahead and clear out that Trade Mission to Gamma Quadrant project just to get it off of the books.
All I know is that the other things I used to do in game have taken a back seat to this base thing.
I will seriously have to decide if it is worth it. Right now it is making me sick of the game. And cryptic's changes/updates are NOT helping so far.
Just keep this in mind: no matter what you do, whether you put all your effort into the base or not, it will still take 7 months to complete all the Missions and unlock a full base. And it doesn't matter if you are a 1 person Fleet or a 200 person Fleet. It's still going to take a minimum of 7 months. So if you've brain-focused yourself down into this base and blowing off everything else you're really just jerking yourself around.

I know that - but what shpe will the game be in 7 months? And at that point maybe a hand-full of fleets - like the German Blitz guys might be finished
I one person fleet will never make it to tier 5 - that would take longer than the game is going to be around and they would be burnt out long before that - a one person fleet top goal should be Tier 3

I'll be honest, the two fleets I am in, we are stopping at Tier 1. Was thinking of pushing to Tier 2, but given Nukara's nerf, it's going to be months before we earn enough for Tier 2.
This system really is not good for small fleets and small fleets of casual players. And I wish the Dev Team put that factor more into consideration during development.

I highly doubt a single person would be able to get to Tier 5 in 7 months. That person would've had to really ground out marks and literally have millions of Dilithum.
On the other hand, a clever person who invested into Provisions and selling Fleet ships and equipment, could probablly exchange marks for services in temporarily inviting them to the fleet.

Don't.
The more people that give up, the less profit they can turn from the Starbases.
They'll be forced to make adjustments to the system at that point.

Signed and resigned.
Im considering bailing out but trying not to as helping fleetmates

Yeah, they said that the vast majority of fleets out there are "small" fleets, yet they go and make it virtually impossible for them to get the Fleet Marks needed for the projects. Sure they could get them eventually, and in 3 years they might make it to T5, but I don't see STO lasting 3 years with all the customers they keep pissing off.

I currently have 15,000 Zen, which I could exchange for about 4 million Dilithium. I also tend to earn about 650k Dilithium per month, which over 7 months would be another 4 million. At that point it's just a question of the Marks. As I don't PvP I don't really care about the Fleet ships, though. So an advanced base isn't much use to me.

Well I knew my solo base was going to be a grind. When I found Nakura, I had hope that I could do pretty well by myself. As I said in the big crying thread, I was on my way to buy a $20 card because I was about out of dilithium and EC's from buying DOFFS. I was going to spend good money to keep that end going, and playing my backside off grinding the marks on those hours to get my own base.
Now....................................
Nope. Guess Tier 1/2 is all im getting. Which is sad. I don't want to delete my fleet to join a big one, because I have already invested too much in it. I want to pay good money to help me get my fleet. But alas that will never happen now.

the items you get at the higher tiers (and ships) are the best ingame. But you nned to do a lot of contribution to equip your ship with them.
