Excelsior HP and Shields

Season 6 changed the based HP and Shield modifier of the T5 Excelsior. This was a bug and is getting fixed. The Excelsior?s HP and shield modifier is being reverted to its pre-season 6 values.

    Well, so much for my poor ole Excelsior keeping up with the newer fleet ships.

    Just make sure you don't nerf it BELOW it's pre-season 6 stats at least, please?
    I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
    I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

    So, you're lowering the base hull back to 39000 (ship req. says it's 42900) and leaving the shield modifier at 1 (again ship req says it's 1), right? Cause that's what the ship charts from pre-season six had the values at.

    How about leaving it alone since there are NO fleet versions of the ship, so people will feel like flying them.

    like that tiny amount of hp made any sort of difference anyway. it seemed like a nod to keep the excelsior from falling too far behind the fleet ships, seeing as there was noting even close to its likeness available in the fleet store, station setup, maneuverability, etc.... oh well, want a fleet excelsior, go buy a galor on the exchange.

    I'm going to laugh when they finally bump up the most popular escorts to having either equal or superior hull/shield mods to the Excel and similar ships. Hell, half the fleet escorts already have ~1.0 shield mods. Do the devs actually know half of the content in their own game?

    Shield, That got changed? I seriously doubt the shield modifier was changed in S5 - S6. The numbers on my ship pre field console were mid 11k after field console change 10,600'ish and after season 6 still 10,600'ish. To the best of my memory.
    The hull boost was a meh stat for the ship, but a nice thank you for buying a ship too bad it doesn't get an upgrade path like everything else. Now that I know this is not the case I feel sort of shafted, its a RA ship but the Dreadnaught and Seige destroyer are VA ships its sort of bad to just toss them into obsolete land now.

    I was actually waiting to hear about the dreadnaught and siege destroyer getting a small HP boost in a similar way as a compensation. especially considering the other end game non fleet ships(lockbox/ect) got a larger upgrade.

    yes fix the minor excelsior bug. the bugs that effect game play more can wait

    Yes, fix the easy (not even a minute worth of data entry changes) bug now, the bugs that are much larger and need more comprehensive investigation, testing, study, more testing, and replication that requires a much longer period of time to achieve and are not a minor fix- yeah, this can wait. Since, you know, being large and problematic, they're moving at the best speed they can, and have spare time to fix minor issues while they wait for updates on tracking down the major issues from Q&A.

    The Excelsior actually could need some love.

    No Fleet version?
    A non combat - non console power.

    Transwarps only, which have a shared cooldown.
    And have been devalued a lot by the Drivecoil-Skill which makes all Ships go Warp 30 - 40, cutting down travel time for the impatient F2P population.

    Tuffli Freighter that comes with a lot of Transwarps... is at least an alternative.

    And now we get Fleet Transwarp Gates too... not sure what they will do exactly and how they work yet, but it probably makes it all a lot easier for everyone in a Fleet.


    So what is the argument now to buy an Excelsior in the C-Store?

    I don't say to keep the wrong Hull stats, but the Ship could use some love.


    ...and if it is only to remove those windows from under the pinstripes on the side of the hull (constant eyesore).

    agreed, but same thing as with the fleet dreadnought: the list of fleet ships will see many additions intime. i think intime there will be a fleet version of all the ships anybody desires. Sure enough cryptic couldn't just implement them all at once.

    I pretty sure the reason why there is no fleet version is that only ships with a console are getting fleet versions. There were originally plans to turn the transwarp powers into a console. One of the reason why people complained was because the ship didn't get the extra console slot to compensate like the other ships at that time. The other was the reduction of transwarp locations.

    Can't have it both ways unfortunately.
