Now that the Fleet Marks event on Nukara has been nerfed with the cooldown timers, how might someone obtain a comparable amount of Fleet Marks? In the midst of people voicing their displeasure with the change, I've heard a number of people say "Even without Nukara, I'm still making 500-700 FM per day". For those of you who make such a claim, would you care to share the secret?
Maybe they run in premades in fleet events and get good marks. I know a way to get a fair amount of marks myself, but if I said how cryptic would probably reduce the marks available from it.

You can normally do those, in any order, and by the time you're done the last one the first one should be popping back up from cool down. These missions are relatively short and you can power through a few sets of them in a couple of hours to get around 120-200 Fleet Marks.
Why did they even introduce another new currency in the game, that's the last thing the game needed
Its the only way to make sure folks play the new stuff to earn the new stuff. Imagine if fleets had been able to only use Expertise (Bridge Officer Skill Points) to build their starbase. I have Six Million points of those, so I and everyone else would have spent that and never bothered playing any of the new stuff.
It would also enable folks to collect everything from starbases overnight.
You have to play STFs to earn STF rewards, you have to play the vault to get vault rewards. If the only currency was EC or Dilithium you could buy every reward in the game and never actually have to earn it.
All they did was lengthen the grind for marks and hurt the small fleets like mine with the cooldowns.
I accept the game has problems and have been willing to overlook the bugs and issues as able but this nerf is just down right mean and stupid.
The larger fleets with multiple members don't have a problem getting enough fleet marks per day to make at least the low tier projects work. However those of us who are in small fleets it puts us out of being able to do the limited time projects which in some cases number 600 fleet marks before we can do the limited time ones.

I'm in the same boat. As I said in another post, Cryptic/PWE needs to either remove the cooldowns or (better idea) make Nukara drop Fleet Marks 24/7 and have the Nukara Fleet Event just give bonus Fleet Marks. Problem solved, more or less
Yeah, with Nukara being nerfed, it really gives players no reason to go there. They aren't going to wait 30 minutes for a cooldown in a 2 hour event window. So basically Cryptic just now made that zone as dead as Defera.
They need to rethink things with Marks and rewards with that zone to keep it viable. Like rewarding more marks for that ammount of waiting.

Why the heck are you even running the special projects?? We are medium sized fleet, and we don't even do them. Those 600 mark projects are nothing but sinks designed for large fleets to allow all their members a chance to get fleet credits. A small fleet shouldn't even be touching those with a 10 foot pole. They barely give you any XP as well.
The 'limited time' projects, on the other hand, only require dilithium. No fleet marks required for these.

Honestly, I think the amount of marks that were given was a bug, or at least not intended. This was apparently the clear winner, above and beyond any other way, of earning fleet marks. It was out of line with other ways of getting marks. Look at Kerrat when F2P launched. AFK farm city. Was clearly not intended. (although i think they went overboard with the fix. should've been 20 hr cooldown like all other dailies, but I digress). This really is a 'fix' rather than a nerf.

Cuz some of us added by mistake and now have to clear it out so we can grow our weed um plants on our starbases.
Well a mistake is a mistake. True that. But his post made it sound like they were doing them routinely.
Also, I hope they realize they don't have to run the doff NPC contact special project. That costs a load of marks too along with several purple doffs. And what you get is not anything different from what you get out of your shipboard doff. In fact, they even 'look' the same.

Look, I fully understand their reason for nerfing Nukara. I told people this was going to happen Day 1 of Season 6. It was too easy to get 1000 marks per event. But the nerfs the Dev Team did, basically shot themselves in the foot by nerfing too much.
But like many have said in this thread and other threads, this nerfing cripples small fleets. They don't have the resources to grind marks like large fleets. And I'm disappointed Cryptic doesnt work somekind of system that helps small fleets. Because right now, it really feels like we being punished for wanting to be small and casual?
As for Nukara, nobody in their right mind is going to wait 15 minutes for 5 marks or 30 minutes for 10 marks. No way is that going to happen. They will just start doing Space Events for 30 marks for 15 minutes of work. And this will leave Nukara EMPTY and the only people going there are those farming for EVA Suits.
So my suggestion to Cryptic is revise the Reshirt mission so that it's not able to be completed in under 2 minutes and reduce the overall fleet marks grind to around 500 marks within that 2 hour window.

I was sitting there looking at those as well today although I went ahead with the starbase upgrade project instead. the couple threads we've had saying that they're the same as what's currently available as well as the need for completing the plant project in it;s limited time period has put me off on those for the time being.
As to the grinding, I'm currently shooting for 1 project a day. I;m doing more although I;ve had to skip a couple days here and there so it balances.
The real trick with nukara to get a lot of fleet marks in the fleet mark event is to complete all of the easy and medium assignments but wait to turn them in until the fleet mark event has just started so right away you would get about 60 fleet marks and then since you have a 30 min cooldown you could do one of the fleet stfs or if you have a team you could do the hard nukara missions and earn 20 fleet marks for each of them. Then if you did both of them approximately 30 min has past at most. Then you could do all the medium and easy missions again and with a five person team especially if you split up you can get another 60 fleet marks very fast. Then you would be able to do the missions one more time during the event. So basically you would get at least 120 to 180 fleet marks just doing those missions and if you wanted to during the 30 minute cooldown you could do a borg stf.
And yes i wish there wasnt a 30 min cooldown because i do miss getting all those fleet marks
Small fleets, could not care less. Learn to socialize, work togheter, follow lead, listen to the more knowledgable, or, give advice yourself, be creative, fair, have some emotional stamina to suffer a few blows as we are all people, and we all err sometimes.
If you think your makeshift fleet created only to be able to get you fleet stuff should have similar chances and difficulty as a good one, having a good base team, you are delusional.
If you think the fleet consisting of you, your two alts, and your dog should have a good time building a starbase, let me juts say: No.

I was wondering as well since they consolidated all into dilithium before. So it's like 2010 all over again.

Ugh...
I liked my 500 Marks an hour.
Same thought crossed my mind.
If you found mindlessly farming Nukara fun, you have a very different definition of the word than I do.

I'm going to assume you meant 500 Marks an hour pre-cooldown timers. Otherwise, I'd love to know how you do it.

Yeah... most of the players (Including myself) are in very small fleets. I think Branflakes himself said the average was in the 10-15 zone.
