Season 6 Fleet Missions and Leechers

Howdy...

I've seen it now many times. You enter one of the new missions to get some fleet tokens, and you have a guy in the team sitting doing nothing but clicking "NEED" whenever something drops

Yesterday I managed to get -5 fleet tokens - yes... MINUS 5 - thanks to two guys sitting around and do nothing. How a bout a possibility ti kick these guys from the team? Vote4Kick might really be helpful in such a situation, so a new active player can join

Kicking people for such reasons is not in line with Cryptic thinking, so they make people like you suffer.

If you want them to be able to help

1 Stop spamming Skev (skill effect visuals) stuff like tribble buffs skill powers and especially anything that makes them glow)
This has been disabling peoples abilty to function AT all

    2 speak in ENGLISH

3 do not start with "Right dirtbags Im a VA and you aren't "

    people with weaker video cards

you get three or four buffs stacked and they lose frame rate
(Happens to me if I get three or more "glow" buffs)

if your video card sucks that much you can change the settings to compensate.

Seriously, if you can't hack having buffs you need to have your settings turned down when playing with others.

I'm sorry, but if you enter and instance knowing you won't be able to actually help the team at all as you can't move, but you are happy to press need on anything that drops, then that is leeching. Thats is the situation the OP is describing.

It sucks if a player has a bad graphics card, but that doesn't give them the right to join instances and reep all the rewards without helping. To be honest, if my graphics card couldn't handle me doing an instance and I knew it, I simply wouldn't enter the instance, since I know I'd be TRIBBLE over the gaming experiance of the people I'm joining the instance with.

I think whats worse though, is the fact that its possable to get negative marks! Meaning that the leechers are not only needing on loot which they didn't help to get, but they are also resulting in the guys that are trying to earn marks to actually loose them!

And you have options to prevent that. You could...

...update your video card (if possible).

...change your video settings to compensate for your "bad" video card.

...not enter instances where you know it will be a problem until you're able to replace your video card.

Though I have to say, if the buffs are killing your frame rate, your video card is probably not well suited to playing the game at all.

I just saw this for the first time last night... 5 person blockade defense and the person just sat over the starbase and soaked up fleet marks. It made me :(

Again... it's your fault for having your video settings turned up too high.

If you think IDIC tribble is bad wait until I get out my Triolic Pattern Enhancer. Squeal like a pig!!

Um seriously, I had to carefully adjust my video settings to avoid slowdown issues. But after proper tweaking I have good video and good framerate.

This is exactly why I don't bother joining blockade, its to easy to lose marks because of afkers/leechers or simply people who couldn't figure out you need to protect the transports not blow stuff up as a main objective even after you tell them that.

On the other had I got similar problem with frame rate at the defense even where your teamed up with 19 people, I don't remember the name it was bugged for 3 days so I forgot xD

So I turn half-resolutions on when I join it to lag a bit instead of freezing completely when the final attack appears and you see like 100 enemies on top of your 20 man team.

    1. Needing - Frankly I try to watch what the group does first, and if I see one person hitting "Need" on all the low end junk, that's all I hit the rest of the time.

    2. GPU issues: What the heck are people running??? I've got 2 9800 GTX+s in SLi, as in, FIVE generations old, and I've never had any issues. Heck, I'm only running a Dual-core Core 2 (3.0 GHz) and 4GB of RAM. Games like APB, that floggs my machine. But STO??

why the hell would I press need on any of it??
    its all completely useless anyway

and 90% of the time I can operate normally its only when someone SKEVS the hell out of me that I immobilise till one wears off

and if you join an instance and someone says "please DON'T activate visual aura powers until im clear of range" and you do then its your fault not theirs

it isn't possible to get negative marks

and Skev free and without boffs , drones or other showing off we scored 32 marks last night with a team whose highest ranked member was a commander

because we communicated acted as a team and did not CHEAT

The so called Wooden pc like people call it isn't the issue sometimes. I can run APB on highest settings and still have over 40 fps in combat when I see allot of smoke. I'm running skyrim with everything I found in options set to set to max and I didn't see a single lag so fare (well maybe I lagged once when my anti-vir started scanning). On the other hand I tried Global Agenda and I got like 20 fps with everything on low or turned off just by standing in the dome (city). Don't even ask about combat there its a slideshow...
I lag close to nothing in STO but there are places where I do fps lag. Not many of them but still lag is lag.
It often comes down to how the game performs on your specific setup.

    using boffs certainly is

however I have found a work round for the Glows I run in windows mode rather than full screen and I am no longer immobilised

I do however see a LOT of Bridge officers appearing (we had a total of 8 one time 4 of whom were half naked orions)

and many people are still trying to fortress phase two (you can't its not going to work)

I've never seen ONE B.O during the fleet mark events,I wouldnt even know how to get them in.

However,I have seen upto 12+ security escorts helping out :D Bet that grinds all your circa 2000 video cards into the ground... ;)

your army can fail the mission

firstly in the first phase they IGNORE surrendering sabs entirely
and as its kill or transport one to spawn one
    that reduces score

in phase three they can trap or lead off a guard so the captain gets away

    This also happens with drones

Finally they get in the way

hehe... I can take care of surrendering sab by myself... the redshirts are there to shoot things.

Actually I've seen more enemies get lost in phase 3 BEFORE I summon minions.
