What the frigggen heck? Seriously, please tell me this is a bug. This is something I have been looking forward to and now its $20 even if I bought the original. And if you say that they are two different ships, it has the Multi-Vector BOFF layout.
Hi, my name is: Elim Garak, Former Cardassian Oppressor
LTS, here since...when did this game launch again?
It says in its description it can use the Console if you have it, same with the standard Advanced Escort (except no one in their right mind would give up the LtCmr Sci Boff).
Its basically the Multi-Vector, in shape and form with out the special console, which as intended can only be gotten from the C-Store.

I am going to give Cryptic the benefit of the doubt and assume it is an oversight, not an attempt to gouge players who already dropped money on the MVE.
Can the fleet advanced escort split into three ships using the console?
No?
Different ships, no discount.
Can the Fleet Exploration Cruiser separate the saucer from the stardrive section like the Exploration Cruiser Retrofit? No. Different ships but there's a discount. It's an analogous situation.
As logicalspock said - Cryptic probably missed something and they'll repair it. Am I right, guys?
Check all the ships while you're at it. There are a few ships where I thought to myself; "What? No discount?" I've bought all but the Armitage and only see 1 ship I'm getting a discount on; the Nebula.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.
Finaly the Fleet Advanced Escort is back at the ship and shuttle vendor.
Actualy that should be a happy occasion.
But not without a slight disapointmend.
The ship does not qualify for a FSM discount.
I have unlocked either the T5 VA MVAM C-Store account unlock as i did long ago the hapaestus ship skin.
Still the vendor would charge me 4 FSM?
The Ship has the exact same BOff station layout like the MVAM Escort just one mor tac consol and better stats for shield and hull so why not the discount.
Anyone knows about a statment if this is a bug or intentional?
I'm pretty sure it's intentional, and yes it's pretty much as dumb and greedy as it sounds. This is also in spite of the fact that the ship is the MVAE, it isn't an Advanced Escort.
One of the Devs said he is going to look into it, posted something that was moved to the bug report section. Same boff layout as MVAE and can use the MVAE console.

Glad to see the MVAE has been fixed. I'm disappointed this doesn't apply to all c-store purchased ships though. If you buy a c-store ship there should be a reduction of mods for it's fleet variant, imho.
I was hoping to invest in a few fleet ships. My thought was I'd buy whatever mods were necessary, of course, but if there was a c-store version of the ships I'd purchase that to reduce the number of ship mods required. It seemed like Cryptic had come up with a clever incentive for people to buy c-store ships, especially the lower tiered ships.
However, I quickly learned (after buying the Rhode Island in hopes of getting the Fleet Sci Vessel Retro) unless its a VA ship there's no reduction. I wasn't expecting it be the same reduction as a VA ship, but when 4 mods cost 2000 Zen, and I buy a non-VA ship ranging from 750-1500 Zen, a reduction of mods for having a lower tiered variant seemed fair and a good way to up sales for those ships.

There are 2 flavors of the Galaxy Class "Enterprise-D." A (once) 1600C (2000Z?) Captain ship and a (once) 2000C Admiral ship. The Admiral ship comes with a saucer separation console. If you upgrade your Admiral version, you spend 20k marks and 1 module. If you bought the Captain version, you spend 20k marks and 4 modules. To make this worse, you don't get the saucer console in the fleet version as you have to have the Admiral tier version (the retrofit vs the refit as you will). So to get the full upgrade, you have to spend $30 if you didn't buy the VA one. If you want to continue on without the console, you have already spent $20 and have to spend $20 to get the fleet version. $40 (total) for a nerf or $30 for a completely new ship purchase. I haven't compared them, but there is an Ody (probably the sci anniversary one?) for 200k marks and no real money and it doesn't separate either. So it is hmmm... bank the $20 I already spent and get the nerfed Ody for free or spend $20 more and get the nerfed Galaxy. Not the way to attract me to the Z-Store to buy a nerf. Gimme the console, you sold me on the $20 more to upgrade my nerf. And it is not a matter of the ship being a Captain (or lower) ship. There are other even more lowly beasts upgradable without a console to toss into it.
Edit: Gravitate1 and I must have been typing our observations at the same time. In that case, I am glad I loved the Intrepid enough to get the VA ship. I wouldn't want to do the same on my Sci as well. That upgrade is $5.

Give it a little time and the MVAE will end up in th fleet list too.

Actually, yes, it can.
It can use the console.
Can't help but to feel like I'm being ripped off.

Technically, the Fleet Multi-Vector Advanced Escort should get the bonus IMHO.
Now, if they want to make a separate Fleet Advanced Escort that doesn't get the bonus, that's fine -- and consistent.
Technically, both should get Fleet versions.
And the B'Rel should get a Fleet version eligible for the bonus. I don't see why the B'Rel was excluded.
Anyway as long as i had no DEV feedback i would have thought about to report it as a bug after all it could have been intended.
Anyway i do hope it is a oversight and the ship will qualify for the FSM discount.
Would be the first positive move since the FSM release at all.
Thank you in advance Cryptic
Cheers,
Brandon =/\=

Oh well... I learned my lesson. lol
