5th Armored Division - RP, PVE, and PVP fleet

the 5th Armored Division was formed almost overnight in 2408, under Admiral Quinn's directr supervision, to serve as a frontline supplemental combat force to several of the larger Federation fleets already in operation. Outfitted with some of the best equipment and newest and most innovative technologies straight from the R&D labs on Memory Alpha, the 5th immediately began to make a name for itself, playing vital roles in several engagements with both Emperial and Dominion forces. Many, while acknowledging that the 5th had thus far proven themselves to be quite capable, still showed disapproval at what they deemed an 'unnecessary use of resources,' stating that the ships and personnel transfered to the 5th Armored would have been of better use in one of the already active fleets patrolling Federation space. Even more controversial was the apointment of Marcus Harper, a still relatively young Starfleet officer, to the position of Fleet Director. In the end however, Admiral Quinn's word won out. In a meeting with several Starfleet and Federation officials who were formally protesting the new fleet's creation, he simply stated, "The 5th Armored is here to stay, gentlemen. I suggest you get used to it," giving no further explanation. While this quieted the voices of disent for the most part, there were still those who found the whole ordeal, especially the Admiral's unwillingness to speak about it openly, strange, and investigations have continued to this day, though with little to no avail.
The 5th Armored Division is an easy going and yet hardcore group, dedicated to providing a little bit of something for everyone.
Our three main departments break up into:
RP - a place for the RolePlayers of Star Trek Online to come together and craft stores and narratives both casually and in pre-planned events, slowly unravelling the mystery that is the 5th Armored Division.
PVE - a place for those who enjoy playing the game to its full extent, beating every mission, gaining the best equipment, and mastering the more difficult Elite STF missions.
PVP - a place for those who wish to pit their skills against other players in intense and often brutal combat.
While these departments do each have their own seperate structure and purpose, collaboration is of course allowed and promoted. As stated earlier, we are a rather easy-going fleet, and participation is not absolutlely mandatory, nor is contribution to the group Starbase. These things do of course help further promotions and commendations within the fleet, but they are not absolutely necessary. Ultimately, the 5th Armored is here to have fun and to help others have fun in a friendly environment.
