Hello, I am Epos0@EposZero of the fleet Epos Assault Force, and i have a very simple question. How does your fleet stay functioning and active? Do you have special recruiting plans, or perhaps just group together to do fleet actions?
My fleet is currently suffering at 23 members, 3 of whom are active. Any advice on recruiting/growing a fleet would be very appreciated.
That is a very good question. I have the same issue. I may be looking to merge another fleet into mine. We are Omicron Defense force. If yr interested contact Dido@soldierxx28 in game. Or if you just have questions.

why not merge into us the 128th Angry Angels? we are a member of sentinel gaming network and they provide TS3 website and forums! send me @bookreader84 a PM or mail ingame and we will work out the details:D
Kind of the same way my fleet has several RL friends and ive already invested quite a bit into the fleet base. Dont want to loose out specially since we recently completed the 200k dilithium windows project. Itll eventually grow though. If you do change your mind we will happily take you all on.
I try to stay active in fleet chat... you'll find that since STO pretty much had players level up on their own for 50 levels, people kinda got used to it. So you may have to draw them out.
I run all mission by inviting the fleet first. This is your core team, talk it up (fleet chat again), the wins the losses.. etc. Also (Assuming you are a VA), run normal STF's and non-fleet aligned missions (again with your fleet as your core team)... talk it up in team chat, and have a good time... Involve the other non-fleet members on the team... especially the non-alligned player. Some of our best fleet members came from running STF's and talking to them after the screamers and elitists. Mainly just be nice.
Listen to zone chat in the major hubs (ESD, SB39, K7, and DS9)... listen for players asking for help.. PM them and help them...
Make sure to involve any new member right out of the gate... I am not one for blind invites (seeing someone without a fleet banner above their head/ship, and inviting)... I found this results in more inactive players mainly... I try to engage them in conversation first. Then involve them in conversation everytime you see them sign on. Until they make other friends in the fleet.
Also, be willing to put your game on hold, to run to their aid. As a fleet leader, you'll find that there are time you will spend more time in game not playing... but talking to someone about their ship build, or latest release notes... Or running off to do Mine Enemy for the 18 Ba-Gazillionth time because a new person needs help. In short, a fleet leader is there to serve the fleet.
To merge or not to merge... well, that all depends... I know quite a few 3 man fleets that are perfectly happy... others want the upgraded starbase (and thats a lot of grinding and EC for 3 people to accomplish).
By the by, you can get a fleet site from a portal (i use guildlaunch.com (there are several others)) for next to nothing. That has the bells and whistles (forums etc). TS3 and Vent servers can be rented for < $20 a year if you do some searching.
Do not have any "advice" for you but i know that i will be making my own fleet at some point. Likely it will remain rather small but we do have a nice concept as well as a name that actually makes sense Star Trek wise!
Johnny111971 suggestions are pretty spot on. Another place to look here in the fleet forums. There are plenty of players looking for a fleet. You may not have everything they are wanting but at least you can offer them a place with your fleet.
While I can't help you out with a website (if you don't already have one) I can help out with a TS server - no cost or strings attached. Send me a PM if you and your guys may be interested.

also, thank you for taking the time to respond. not quite ready to give the fleet up, though, so i'm not necessarily looking for a merge.
