Possible new costume rank piece?

Would it be possible to get the 'Deputy Director' and/or 'Fleet Captain' rank insignias for our Starfleet costumes? I'd love to be able to have it on my character.

For reference:

Looks nice. I've never seen Fleet Captain before. Sloan wore that Deputy Director for a cover-up, right?

Yep, Sloan wore it once on DS9 (in a holodeck recreation of DS9 to get Bashir to join Section 31...), but I imagine since Bashir didnt call him out on the wrong rank that it is a rank in starfleet...

Fleet captain was referenced once or twice, in TOS, (I think Pike held that rank), and was never seen again, ut most people have given it the 5 gold pips, and that seems to be the most accepted.

I don't think anyone with the rank "Fleet Captain" was ever seen. They did have Commodores in TOS, though, and it's probably equivalent to that.

Pike was stated to be a fleet captain in The Menagerie.

Commodore is Rear Admiral lower half.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Imho, Commodore also sounds better than "Rear Admiral, lower half".

i really think perfectworld should put the U.S.S. Kelvin into the game from the very beginning of the new star trek movie, its the ship kirks father is captain of before his son's birth and it looks unique with two deflectors on it

The Kelvin has only one defeflector, at the front of the engineering hull.
However, it is unlikely we'll see this ship in the foreseeable future because:
    1) although it's still part of STO timeline, it belongs to Abram's movies and is therefore off-limits,
    2) it is almost two hundred years old (other old ships were species-specific or a former Enterprise) and
    3) there's no trend implying older ships will be made soon. We do not even have the Andorian battleship, yet.

In short: No Kelvin-type in STO

Im just curious, how did we get from talking about a possible new rank for our uniforms to talking about the Kelvin? The two have nothing to do with each other.

I really hope someone from Cryptic sees this... (Id send it to Branflakes but he has me blocked on Twitter... rather dumb thing for a community liaison to do...)

I'm willing to bet that it's because you were being obnoxious. Were you by any chance constantly pestering him about anything?

Who? BranFlakes? Yes... I was very vocal... (as I can be here on the forums...) But thats no excuse... he is a community manager (it says so right under his user name here). Its his job to listen to the community... regardless of what they are saying, or how they are saying it. If he cant deal with with peple who are angry and vocal about the game then he needs a different job. Now, I would have had no problem if it was his personal twitter account (if he even has one)... but the fact that he blocked me on his work account, just makes him a bad community manager. You dont do that when you have that position...

But I digress... thats not the point here....

I think those would make great additions to the ranks, particularly that "Fleet Captain". It's also a way Cryptic could add levels to progress along without going beyond Vice Admiral. (Though eventually they may do so anyway)

Has a much nicer ring to it doesn't it?

from what i rember from the original episodes a fleet captain was a captain that was senior at the time that a temp taskforce or patrol was created or an honorary rank for retirement purposes

Lets not get too far ahead... no need for more levels... just give me the pips so I can put them on my uniform...

We ground out all those ranks in Doff missions. I'd like to see the emblems and ranks thereof available at the tailor for uniform additions.

Which if we saw evidence of him more on here, actually community managing, it wouldn't be necessary for anyone to resort to tweets to get his attention.

Well yeah, it's the most likely story, but if they wanted to do that they could.

It'll be nice to have a secondary rank pins set for your rank in a fleet.
Since there are like, is it 6 or 7, ranks in a fleet, there can be lots of option.

It would be nice if we could get the Chief Petty Officer rank pins that Chief O'Brien wore.

There is also the provisional rank pins from Voyager.
