How Can I Get The Heavy Escort Carrier? (Noob)

williamz101williamz101 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
I really like the look of the Heavy Escort Carrier and was thinking can I buy it when I get to Level 50? It says I must pay with Zen but can't I just unlock it by leveling up? If not, what are my options?

Some ships can only be bought with ZEN. I think all of the Carriers are pay-for ships. You either have to buy ZEN with real-life money, or sell a whole lot of Dilithium on the Dilithium Exchange.

Only for Federation, KDF can get the Vo'quv for free at level 40. But bother the Heavy Escort Carrier and the Caitian Carrier for Federation are 2500ZEN.

You do have to purchase the Armitage at Level 50 for Zen. As has been mentioned by others you can grind Dilithium to exchange rather than paying cash out of pocket. Also be aware that once one Alt has purchased it it is unlocked for all other Alt's AND that skin becomes available to Commander rank characters if you've also purchased the Thunderchild in the past. Both my Vice Admiral and my Commander are flying identical looking Escorts (of course at Commander you don't get the extra slots or the fighter capability... but the look is "WICKED" :D)
*STO* It’s mission: To destroy strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations... and then kill them, to boldly annihilate what no one has annihilated before!

If you don't mind waiting for months, then you can pick up the Fleet Heavy Escort Carrier. Costs about 20 million EC to buy 4 Fleet Ship modules on the exchange and 20,000 EC. All you miss out on is the HEC's console and the Armitage skin. You get a ship with better stats.

Many people have don it, and have not received the Zpoints. All they have gotten for their trouble is masses of junk mail.

Out of 5 done, I received 3 Zpoints.

Yeah those are generally a waste of time and open up your computer to TRIBBLE.

I personally do Mystery Shops. I can make 30-40 dollars a day with some driving and paperwork. Even better if you like in or close to a metropolitan area.

I also recommend getting a EIN tax number (free) so you don't have to give out your SSN. You do need to do research to get started. Research the companies before signing up.

As an example last week I had 3 new account bank shops (pretend I interested in opening a new account to get info on how they react) each one paid $15 and a sandwich shop for $10.

I live in a rural area so my jobs were kinda spread out. So for me minus 6 dollars for the sandwich and 7 dollars for gas. Still I left at 11am I was home by 3pm and did paperwork for about 3 three hours while watching TV.

Payouts are slow (2-5 weeks) but a few hours work I made a little over $40.

Heck yesterday, I had to drive over to the next county to pickup a part for my job. There was a dinner shop at a restaurant that normally pays just for my meal, was offering a $25 bonus because it was near the end of their testing month and needed some one badly. The restuant was just the next town over from where I was buying the part anyway. So I get nice meal and $25 to boot for about 45 mins of paper work.

That's why you don't do the "Sign up for Service X and receive 3168 ZEN Points!" jobs. Those are TRIBBLE designed to suck in the most gullible idiots out there, and this has been a constant ever since the first marketing department noticed that there are bored people out there that will click on ANYthing if you promise them something free in return. Or maybe I just have a very jaded view of anyone who has a title involving Marketing VP due to having been divorced from one.

Just take the surveys when they pop up, and watch the ZEN roll. Since getting started on them a few weeks ago, I've made almost 1.5k via surveys and all of them without giving out my home address or my credit card information, much less my real name. They're slower. They're more involved. And they're very limited as to what kind of answers will allow you to reach the completion of the survey, which is what actually awards the points. But they're safer.
