2. Get on with completing the mission
On the Fly Rule:
1. Someone on the team makes up a team loot rule for that mission/STF run

Truthfully it can be solved by a few simple things.
Well most simple would be to award the players dealing the most damage during the battle the greatest awards and follow down the line as such. I can already hear people arguing that in that case all the escort captains would be getting the drops. If u think about it though for a minute shouldnt the guy bringing the biggest gun defeating the most enemies/ dealing the most damage recieve the greatest reward? Along with this tiered award system there could be awards or drops for "team-players" people who help contribute to the action ie, healing a teammate and such. I highly doubt the current loot system will change any time soon however simply because it works. Hell and for the laugh of it we can award the moron who sits 20km away watching everyone struggle 100,000 Tholian Lockboxes filled with nanite herpes.
Or the solution I like better.... Just give everyone in the action the same rewards and get rid of the random roll bs. Give every player a tech, salvage, proto whatever +edc's and some random bs item. This would make everyone happy and stop the endless slew of "loot nerf" threads.
Thank You for taking the time to read my poorly written post filled with grammatical errors
Opening a lockbox is like using a public restroom when u gotta poo.
You are just hoping nobody blew on the seat or that all the toilet paper is gone.
Good idea. It would minimize the rewards for AFKers, too!
Another good idea.
Why did you say that? False modesty?
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure the entire OP was a tongue-in-cheek commentary on that fact... unless I'm reading into it wrong.
Personally, I'm fine with how it is. In pugs, I've grown to "Need" everything that I want for whatever reason. When running with Fleetmates the rule is to "Need" things you'll absolutely use and "Greed" on stuff you might use or would just sell. Since we're all a good bunch, it works out well for us.
Ive taken a lot of noobs under my wing educating them and have given 30x my EDC cap in exchange items helping these people out. When I do this and they dont wanna listen it just po's me to no end.

Some was tongue-in-check, some wasn't.
Yeah, I heard about that "rule" someplace ....
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
Healing / level = B
Damage taken / level = C
A+B+C = value
highest value gets .largest ec award
lowest value gets smallest
put ALL current drop items in vendor stores and do away with the whole mess
oh and for lock boxes??
EVERYONE gets 5 per fleet event and 5 per stf
straight into inventry
simple
At least there is no leaver penalty in fleet actions so i can rage quit when idiots keep needing loot from my kills.
Are you going to continue to follow me around on the STO forums, insulting and abusing me?
Then I will continue to disagree with you and your delusions.
Say NO to fake "rules"!
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
I agree one hundred percent with your statement Marc of people needing on things that they didn't work for and also those that cry of abuse when they get called out for needing on everything.
Because some players continue to insult and abuse other players who refuse to follow THEIR fake "rule", no matter how suck-y the loot is. If you press Need on even the suck-y loot, they say "stop Need-ing everything!"
Insultes and abusers have no etiquette (but somehow claim to have etiquette ).
Say NO to fake "rules"!
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
Pressing Need is a permissible choice.
Mind your own business!
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
I will repost what I posted earlier today in the other thread which for someone who is trolling and crying abuse towards other people embarrassingly for him hasn't read.
The same points made by everyone in this thread points to the same clear indication and discussion of what defines need and what defines greed and apparently it's defined as common courtesy as well in the following threads
Star wars:
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=435124&highlight=greed
WoW
http://forums.riftgame.com/rift-general-discussions/general-discussion/271877-need-greed-pass.html
This apparent fake rule is everywhere, even IRL I was disgusted to hear on the news of people beating up and stealing from homeless people on the street just because they dared to ask for money that they needed.
NEED: homeless person needs money so asks people better off than himself to help.
GREED: random person feels they need their money more than the homeless guy and turn around and beat the TRIBBLE out of him and take what he has.
PASS: same homeless person asks for money but you tell him you don't have any, leaving him no better off then how he started.
From the homeless guys perspective that's how it is that is how many see it, but turn it around from the other side and we are presented with the need/greed grey area that is glaringly screaming from anthonyxmas1's posts.
NEED: homeless person asks for money, random person wants to keep their money and gets annoyed and bashes the TRIBBLE out of the homeless guy.
GREED: wants more money and feels that nobody cares about one homeless guy so bashes the TRIBBLE out of homeless guy and steals his jar of coins.
PASS: Would have avoided the situation.
As you can see from my IRL example need is defined by what is needed for survival, where as greedy need is driven by want rather than need.
dazzajay argues from the side of the minority of people that are annoyed about people who having already maxed out gear needing on everything.
anthonyxmas1 who justifys the growing majority needing because he wants it just as much as someone else who actually needs it.
I see dazzajays view of if everyone jumped off a cliff why would you?
however I see anthonyxmas's view of he wants the items as needing on the assumption that others will need for a chance of getting something.
where etiquette comes in is that both sides can't agree on common ground and well the second party turned on me when I tried to point out the difference of want vs need, which is what I've been trying to say need is need but others such as anthony and the rulers of acquisition who apparently can't prove that the core policy of their fleet clan whatever in any game is greed no matter what, but resort to accusing others of delusions when presented with facts.
On a final note I was watching the DS9 ep In A Pale Moonlight earlier today kinda ironic that Senator Vreenak was murdered to uphold the morals of the federation, the same ones that Vreenak has been used as an example to argue against.
Post 2:
My name is Allison by the way, dazzajay and I are two entirely different people, now to solve my beef with you, you started picking on me being nasty and mean in regards to my points assuming they were dazzajays when up till that point in time I hadn't said anything that was nasty degrading or rude to you, you picked on me first and then turned around and complain that dazzajay doesn't use etiquette for calling you out for what you are a cowardly greedy bully, it is hypocritical to call fowl on dazzajays behaviour of which you yourself have done to me.
Now shut up and back to the thread, also be so kind as to edit your thread on the same topic as it is quite clear that you are obviously referring to us and our views within this thread even if it isn't said directly, if you don't I may have to contact PWE and note bullying and defamation in my report thanks.
Back on topic again, now dazzajay I can't see why the n/g/p is really needed, half the time you have people needing knowing full well need takes preference over greed on the gentlemans agreement created in WoW years ago that if you don't need something allow someone who needs it have it, if greeding you get it if nobody needs I know this concept is in MMOs because of MMOs being multiplayer team environment understandably though there are people out there that go solo or don't have the support of large fleets assisting them and so that system doesn't work for them as they need everything they can get as they don't have that support.
There should be a check that if someone pushes need and already have gear that has better stats than what is needed upon, then the system should auto allocate that as a greed instead.
I will continue to disagree with you and anyone who says "Pressing Need is wrong".
Say NO to fake "rules"!
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
also you shouldn't take it so personally when I said those that cry of abuse when they get called out for needing on everything, I wasn't even talking about you.
I will continue to disagree with players who say "Pressing Need is wrong".
Say NO to fake "rules".
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
But then the ferengi are fictional they don't exist, but it seems you follow their rules to the letter.
Us humans will be humans and continue to follow logical means that want is not need.
Facts are facts they aren't in any shape or form abuse.
It is permissible ingame to press Need all the time. That is a fact! Accept reality!
Oh, wait, you're the one with the delusions of me being in other fleets in other MMOs ... you just cannot accept reality!
If anyone says "Press NEED is wrong", I will disagree.
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
Did you not read that? I said there in black and white you and dazzajay both yours and his own definitions of need are correct, is that abuse no.
pointing out a fact that there are individuals that used your fleet name in other MMOs and were disbanded and removed for bullying and abusing other people gives you no excuse to start abusing me.
I reiterate FACTS are not abuse.
Whatever you say is meaningless.
Pressing NEED is permissible. Anyone complaining, insuling, or abusing others for pressing NEED cannot accept reality.
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
FAIL you raised the issue of people abusing others, and I addressed the issue raised I also said I agreed by your own definition of need you're correct now you abuse me and say what I said was meaningless when I agreed with you you just contradicted yourself.
Whatever you say is meaningless.
Pressing NEED is permissible. Anyone complaining, insuling, or abusing others for pressing NEED cannot accept reality.
LAUREN RULZ !!!!!!!!
If people want to have a civil discussion about the need vs greed system by all means. However calling people names, telling people their points are meaningless and what have you isn't really cool
Also there is multiple threads on the need vs greed system spanning the entire forum as such I'm closing this one down.
