Do you feel unvalued?

Ever since the launch of season 6. Star Trek Online has been plagued with numerous bugs. These bugs have been submitted by players either through bug reporting in game or on here in the forum. It has now been a week since the launch of season 6 and not one of the bugs reported has either been acknowledged by PW or fixed by PW. This week, like me we were all hoping that the bugs reported would be fixed in the update, but sadly no. There is still no acknowledgement from PW regarding these bugs and if and when they are to be fixed. Yes there are alot of bugs that have been reported, so PW does have alot of work to do to recify them. But it seems that we have all wasted our time reporting them because PW are in no hurry to fix them. I feel let down and unvalued as a player.

Sorry PW for such a negative thread but I am only expressing how I (and maybe others) feel about the ongoing bugs introduced by season 6

I guess what I am trying to say is (for me) I would like to have just had some sort of acknowledgement about the bugs, and a thank you for posting them that's why I feel unvalued. I know the bugs wouldn't of been fixed overnight, things take time. The bugs haven't stopped me from playing, but they are annoying at times. The game overall is brilliant I can't take that away from them.

Overall it's not getting that thank you for taking time out to report the issues. A thank you means alot.

In time the bugs will get squashed, but right now I'm not happy with things. Especially with the Klingon Lore Console not being fixed, which so far has totalled over 3500 Free Dilithum that Klingon players have missed out on. And we will not see anykind of compensatiion for that loss either. :(

As for Season 6 ...... I don't feel like a customer anymore. Working on all this grinding is like a part-time job where I'm paying than earning. Just too much grinding (Dilithum, DOFF, STF, and now Starbases), there is no time anymore to have fun in doing things I want to do. And the lockboxes....just makes me feel like a wallet than a valued customer.

Really would like to see the old STO back.

First, PW doesn't do the programming, that is entirely Cryptic's function/job.

Second, reported bugs are dropped into a list where they are "triaged" with the worst/most important being checked first.

Once the "bug" has been confirmed to be a definite software coding issue and not just "something that happened on one client out of hundred thousand clients" then a fix is figured out/looked into and documented.

Numerous fixes are added together in a "patch" which is then scheduled for deployment to the devs test server - Redshirt. After confirming the "fix" is good or valid, then it is either scheduled for further testing with the public on Tribble or it is added into the schedule for deployment as a client update or server-side update.

So yes, bug fixes can take quite some time to get resolved.

p.s. just like the real insects around the world, there will always be bugs of some kind around. :)

    No.

I am getting more then what I expect I would relative to what I pay. I see people talking about game breaking bugs here, long standing issues there, and while I see thier points I have not encounterd a bug yet that stoped me from being able to play this game. YMMV of course, .....as it seems it does. ;)

Really? you want compensation because one of the ways you can earn dilithium is out of commission for a bit. like the many other ways you can earn it does not cut it, you want compensation for a measly 3500 dilithium that is virtually effortless to obtain.

No, I don't feel unvalued or undervalued.

I paid my lifetime subscription years ago, and just got more content and missions and now fleet starbases in Season 6 :)

I can only shake my head at people that know no history. After six seasons it should be well known that with each release bugs will be introduced, and that even bugs existing prior to release will take weeks, and even months to fix.

I am enjoying the Game so far and have not encountered any bugs, unless you mean tholians then yes I have seen a few bugs.

It is a game folks and any program that is this intricate to run is going to have a few glitches. it has only been a week. Give them time.

I expect the HANDFUL of people capable of fixing these issues (particularly the HUD issues for me) to actually spend their 9 to 5 fixing them instead of providing minute by minute updates and replying to all the threads asking the same thing.

I would like if our community manager could pass along some information about these other concerns though (as he has concerning the foundry and things like the Account bank issue). I assume they are not actively working on the other issues until the foundry is out the door.

That measly 3500 Dilithum can easily pay a good chunk of a Starbase Project. And when you're poor, every cent counts.

Well, regardless of who does the programming/development, be it Cryptic or PWE; I haven't been able to log in for 2 days now. I was just using my Cryptic account without any problems; 2 days ago, I decided to link it to a PWE account for the "special linking bonus", ever since, I can't login to the game. I've checked and double-checked and know my password isn't beyond the 14-character limit. I've made sure to launch IE (which is a browser I don't typically use, but IS used by STO) and cleared my cache out. Partially pondering if it's because I linked a Cryptic account with a different email to a PWE account with an unmatching email address. Here's the reason why... I have a "standard" email address and "college" email address. I was going to use my "standard" email address through PWE, which is the same one I use for Cryptic, problem is, when I do password reset on my "standard" email through the PWE site, I never receive the email, been trying for the past week. When I did a password reset with my "standard" email address via Cryptic (who are now housed inside of PWE I believe!?) around the same time, the email came right through; when I've submitted 2 tickets to support, the confirmation email came to my "standard" email address lickety-split.
I even checked all my "standard" email address filters, block lists, etc... there's nothing on any of them period, let alone anything that should effect receiving any emails from PWE... since as I said, I get their confirmation emails to support tickets. :(

So, finally having waited long enough, I decided to link my Cryptic account which uses my "standard" email address to my other PWE account registered under my "college" email address; ever since, I can't get in. Both support confirmations said it'd be 3-4 days before I got a reply; one of those came about 6 days ago, the other about 3 days ago, and still not even a peep. All I want to do is be able to get back in and play on my character who's an admiral... I'll be damned if I have to make a brand new account, start all over again, and lose all the content I had on my original account. This is just horrible, and the customer-service, be that PWE or Cryptic is straight out atrocious!

Just to clarify; when I go to launch STO, I open the launcher, put in my account username (not the forum username, I even had Cryptic email me the account name to verify I'm using the right one), and enter my password, and I keep getting invalid username/password... and after about 5-10 tries I get "too many attempts, please try again later". I've even tried logging into STO using my Cryptic account and password, to receive a message that says, "please use your Perfect World account to login". I also know I'm not crazy, because I can login to the PWE site just fine with the account name and same password. I even tried typing my email address into the launcher just to make sure with no luck. Yet my fiance, who just started in STO with a straight PWE account can get right in. So certain people can still play, while old-schoolers who linked their account for the "shnazzy" bonus, are stuck twiddling their thumbs hoping something might actually get fixed.

PS - I can also confirm that I'm not the only person this is happening to. If you look under the PC support section (as well as some other sections), there's numerous people having the same problem, some with lifetime subs, some that have even said they've left STO over this to go to another game. :/

I guess the faith I had lost isn't 100% justifiable. I have recieved an email from PW apologising for the bugs since season 6 launch and they have been monitoring the forums and are aware of the difficulties players are having. And on top of that there is a maintenance update today. But I think more importantly. The apology in the email was actually very very sincere. So I would like to apologise to you Cryptic and PW for me not having enough faith and value in you.

Some bugs are really annoying, but it's the counterpart of an improved game. I enjoy season 6. The most annyoing bugs is the exchange one, but I'm starting to think they are at least improving what we have. It would be time to make several improvements, they are really needed.

If you don't enjoy the grindfest about starbases (and I understand that), then just stick to a lvl 1 one, it's clearly enough to get free valuable ships, the ones youget from a T5 shipyard aren't better, they are just different. It's not enjoyable if you try to match big fleets in a small fleet, but who told you you had to rush?

The exchange bug has been with us for 5-6 months though. It's now gotten worse.

Granted only a couple of folks complained about it way back when.

To update, I'm able to get in now... well, so far; I'm past the username/password screen and it's currently patching/updating. I'm not sure if they fixed it purposely with today's update, or if it was a fluke that finally got fixed when the servers got restarted... there was one thread I recall reading, where a user had mentioned that they think the login server for STO is slow to update, and any form of a password change, maybe even an account linking could take a day or two to fully process... just be ready for maybe *possible* downtime should you link your account or change your password once it's a PWE account. (Kind of wondering since the Cryptic data is stored, if it's some sort of sync up between the Cryptic info and PWE info... as in I'm guessing people who made just straight PWE accounts without any Cryptic background aren't going to have this issue.)
