The minimum each box can yield is 4, they usually load alot more. This is no different then other 800 lobi items in the store. It's up to you if you want it or not. I for one will be getting it

whats the max lobi crystals they can dish out ? Honestly i don't understand even from business sense why they don't make the max and min really close together. Then perhaps lower the lobi store item costs thus further making it a more reasonable purchase. Making more people able to justify rolling the dice.
So sure you may not win any doff packs or ships while playing the lottery. But you still are going get something you like after approximately X number of boxs and cryptic/perfect world still make X amount of money from those transactions. How ever i do understand people can grind dilithium to get the keys but the gain of even that is limited. Thus they have already stopped too much of that.
Also would like to see them get rid of regular boxs all together and just make all boxs gold. There is barely any point in opening a box that has the least amount of chance for the stuff people really want. They could also just split the difference make the boxs drop somewhere between gold and normal. Then also make the chances somewhere in between.
These are the reasons I have hard time ever justifying it, especially the previous ones made it feel to much like they were trying to use and abuse the gambling addictions people may have. I fell into that trap with the galor box still haven't got that ship but I can't justify spending more then i did.
Although the doff pack ones felt a lot more like buying a pack of trading cards sure you may not get that ultra-rare card you may be looking for but you can always find some card you may like and if you don't you can trade them.
Hopefully they will stick to their promise and continuing to offer more and more compelling boxs in the future this one looks like nice step in the right direction, but I dunno I'm going to see if its actually worth my money before i blow it on a bunch of boosters i don't need and too little lobi crystals to buy anything worth wild in the lobi store.
i'd prefer a set price for that ship instead of a chance of x% to get it
already wasted 40EUR in doff-packs to get the freighter just to get shapeshifting locks -.-
I have seen people get 100 lobi out of the boxes before.

The link tells you everything you need to know about how to farm lobi.
Gl!
Those were only available during a limited time event. Were accolade-based and could only be claimed once. Only gave 1 Lobi per Accolade, with one Accolade per mission, which applied only to the FEs.
So you could only earn 20 Lobi (well, technically 21 with the counterfeit box you could open). You could only earn it once. You can't earn it now.
So... that method is going to permanently leave you about 779 crystals short.
No, Even a rerun would not give you the crystals you need.
Yup. Like I said, even with the counterfeit box mission on top of those you'll be 779 crystals short. Each Lobi crystal (dispensed one at a time) is awarded via an Accolade (one per mission). You can only unlock an Accolade once.
Thus barring further changes by Cryptic the FEs will never yield more Lobi than there are missions. So to get 800 Lobi you'd have to complete 800 missions (in rerun... first runs don't count).
So Cryptic (who have said they're unlikely to make more Featured Series) would have to make 156 more of them (since there's generally five Episodes per Series). In the past two years they've released four (and this was while they had plans for them to be the main method of disseminating content). Even at that rate we'd have to wait 78 years for there to be enough FEs for us to earn the required Lobi. And of course they'd have to be in rerun, so probably add another year there.
So we could earn enough Lobi to buy the carrier via Featured Episodes sometime in 2091. Oh, and recently they've shown that they have plans to "retire" Lobi store items, so the carrier probably won't (reliably anyway) be available in 2013. So the required FEs will be about... 78 years too late.
There is another thread on the lobi issue, and as this goes well beyond just the carrier, that's where discussion of this should be moved.
The lobi easter egg hunt should be reinstated. In fact, lobi should be randomly hidden in every mission. That would be fair. Players would have to work very hard and keep their eyes peeled in order to spot the lobi.
lol we are talking about 800 lobis. do you want to do 800 missions ...
I belive I have easily done more then 800 runs of missions/stfs/ whatever in this game. BUT the Lobi is supposed to be a currency available to players who use the Cstore items (even if we sell them on exchange) its not supposed to be a readily available currency. Having it found randomly in missions would remove the fact its supposed to be an additional Cstore currency.

1) Find/buy lockbox.
2) Buy key on exchange.
3) Sell items (excluding Lobi, which is bound anyway) from box on exchange.
4) Do step 1 again
5) Buy key with money earned from a) selling items from part 3, or b) selling other general loot.
6) Do step 3 again.
Repeat steps 4 to 6 until sufficient Lobi are achieved.

Master using it and you can have this!
Be black on the right side. Add properly colored Cheron to the game today!
