More Fleet Mark Soloutions

I am enjoying the current season and I like the new missions but I feel there is a lack of ways to earn fleet marks. Playing the new missions is cool but the prospect of grinding them every day for 7 months is not very appealing.

I'm sure new missions will be added over time but there are a few easy soloutions.

1) Fleet weekends. Every couple of weeks or so have fleet weekends (like Q weekends) that double up the fleet marks. This will pull people in and help bring people together during the times most people are off from work/school.

2) Add fleet marks to Fleet Actions. These must have fleet marks. They were designed for fleets to play so its only natural they should have them. Most people don't play them any more so this is a great way to bring them back to life.

3) Borg Red Alerts. these are fun but there is not much reason to play them if you have already got your accolades. adding fleet marks, at least as a third option between dilithium and the level reward item.

4) Add Defera to the 2 hour window. I think this is already being added as mentioned by dstahl, but again it changes it from just being levelling content for any rank to be real viable endgame.

5) STF's. This one is debatable as you can already get some nice rewards for doing them, but even if you just want to add them to their respective days on the double EDC/Dilithium wednesday's it would help.

6) The Foundry - While not fleet mission per say, adding an option to the daily wrapper would encourage more foundry play and I don't think that is ever a bad idea.

As fleets marks can only be spent on starbases, and you still have to add tons of other resources and its all set time gated anyway, I dont see a major problem with letting people earn more than they are now. Even if there is an abundance of marks, it does not make starbases arrive much sooner, but it does stop people getting bored. There is a fine line between good grind for a greater purpose and boring grind that turns people away. I can some people getting bored and that will makes it harder to queue.

I'm especially concerned about the Klingon side as there are less people there anyway. If people get bored it could impact everyone if people don't queue that often. Things like the foundry, Defera, STF's would guarantee people can get them when ever they want.

As for the STF. Well you could always add option to trade salvages for fleet marks. That means, even if the person has everything already, he still can use the salvages, tech to get something out of it.

I don't mean to change the subject of your thread but it would be nice to add the possibility of a dilithium reward to those "missions" that only give fleet marks for the people that like the new missions but don't care about the fleet stuff and/or already have enough fleet marks for their fleet projects.

I dunno if you missed the obvious one because its already be suggested to death (my finger is not on the pulse) but:

Doff Missions. I think 1-5 FM for every doff mission completed would be good (the fastest doff mission is still slower than the PvE FM events) + a few special ones for a bunch more.

Would be a nice way to farm them whilst not having to shoot things constantly which is already getting a little boring.

Fleet-based Duty Officer missions would be totally a good way to make more Fleet Credits while leveling up my Duty Officers.

Of course, you might have to be at your Starbase sector, or Eta at the very least to have them show up, but I think this would be a good idea. Especially if your duty officers pull off a Critical Success and you could get a big Fleet Credit bonus instead of dilithium.

    This.

Such an intuitive addition for fleet marks I'm surprised it wasn't included at launch of the season.

Yes, please add fleet marks to PvP. That way we can get more afk'ers in there to get those easy marks!

i'm less concerned with earning fleet marks.

i agree that Fleetactions should get them, but thats about it.

what i have a problem with is that NONE of the NEW content gives any Dilithium!

I and everyone else will be grinding those Fleet missions and Nukara to no end, that is a lot of Time investment, yet we will not get the "Time Based Currency" of Star Trek Online for our invested time.

Add 250 dilithium to any Fleet Event (those are pretty short anyway, no need to make it 1100 like the STFs) and i will not feel like wasting my time playing those for hours.

If that is all i can do this day then i better be able to get my 8000 dil that way.

I agree with adding Fleet Marks to Fleet Actions; as well as some of the other missions - heck.. could we get rid of drop boxes and drop Fleet Marks instead?

    On a serious note...

What about being able to CONVERT Fleet Credits into Fleet Marks? Say every 1,000 Fleet Credits for 1 Fleet Mark :)

That would be awesome in my book!

1- We have fleet marks event everyday so whats the point?

2- Agree. Fleet actions are a wasteland now with the exception of mirror event for xp grind.

3- Not sure about this one. The whole point of fleet marks and starbases are for fleets not for solo players. Still the loot of on these ones could be better then just dilithium.

4- No comments really, it is probably one of the events I do not care much....

5- This one is a tricky one. I love STF's, and I am proud of knowing how to make them all on elite. Still, on the special days for each STF maybe you could get a random number of fleet marks like between 1 to 5, or a fixed number. Or maybe, and that would be a great option, the reward box dropping a certain amount of FM instead of a green lock box...(yea I never got a gold one from that lol)

6- Like the quickie on ESD? :P

The starbases are a great feature, and are very well balance in terms of difficulty and time, after all it must be a fleet effort, of course a 100 fleet members can do it faster, still, even 5 or 10 people can do it with no problem. What I should think there should be more, is more fleet actions and different ways for a fleet team to grind. At the moment we have 2 ground and 4 space fleet events, just for these, the others should also be included, so people also play them, which does not happen now.
