gp86gp86 Member Posts: 22 Arc User
i just want to begin the KDF community mission 'A Prisoner' which is a 3rd mission in a series and it is a mission after 'Hunter Killer'. When i try to beam down the First City to begin the mission the game keep crashing and after that the loader did not respond at all.
Someone encontered this type of problem or just me. Try this mission and reply to me as soon as possible. Until that my Klingon character are 'out of order'.:(

This might do better to be in Foundry bugs, but here is something to try if you feel brave enough:

    1) Run a force verify once just to be sure that this does not clear up the issue if you have not already

2)Exit the game, dont do this while its running

3)Navigate to the data folder in your startrek online install. Depending on your OS, the folder could be in one of 3 places

In Win Xp, the folder should Program Files\Cryptic\Startrekonline\live\data
    In Vista/Win 7 Games\Cryptic\Startrekonline\live\data
If you used steam its 'harder' to find but its hiding inside the steam directory

Delete everything inside the data folder (but not the folder itself)

4)restart the game and try the mission

Theres no garuntee this will work, but it has in the past cleared some extraneous files that caused issues for people.

The other option would be to check your video drivers, but I will say that chances are if nothing else is causing you to crash in game, its not those.

It might be an issue with an out of date foundry mission. Foundry updates can have unexpected consequences.

You mean the 'localdata' folder in the 'live' folder?

When you open the launcher there will be a tab called "options" up top and Force Verify is one of the available choices with a check box next to it. It will take about 5 to 10 minutes to run though it says it is patching without a progress bar. This will check for damaged or missing files.

Update the version of IE on your computer, and ensure that IE is set to allow javascript. Our launcher requires IE, regardless of which browser you use regularly.
