Yellowstone Hangar-Pets?

torsten1009torsten1009 Member Posts: 454 Arc User
Hi,

I'd like to see another Hangar-Pet. I just thought Yellowstone-Runabouts would be nice...

I run an Armitage, so I'm limited in the choice of Hangar-Pets:
- Fighters are shot down too fast (I can only spawn 6 at a time and not spam the map),
- Danubes are good to slow down enemies (for example those Probes on Khitomer Accord space), they also have a longer time to live, but when they attack a Nanite-Generator on Infected Space with their Tractor-Beams...
- Delta Flyers are good against shielded enemies, but they also use their Tachyon-Beam against unshielded enemies like Nanite-Generators on Infected Space...

These are the reasons for a new Hangar-Pet. But what should those Yellowstone have got? Eject Warp-Plasma wouldn't be better then the Danubes, a tactical ability like Beam-Fire at Will or Torpedo-Spread would be nice against high amounts of enemies, but that would be a bit overpowered. I thought of Beam-Array-Overload, High Yield Torpedoes or maybe an engineering-ability like Emergency-Power to Weapons.

Ok, that is my point of view, what's yours?

Although not as good as alot of the pets, As a carrier you can control the Scorpian Fighters from the Vault mission, they just have disruptors and torpedos.

Yellowstones are coming as a fleet equipment. It's not been announced (AFAIK) what will mark them as different.

Oh, this isn't the right place to discuss this topic???

As you can see, I'm new to the forums...

Anyways, I would like to discuss what gear/ability these Hangar-Pets should have got.

No no, it's a valid place - just Ask Cryptic's tend to get Dev responses :) I'd go with Tractor Beam Repulsors for the lolz :P

I'd still like a frigate pet myself, something I don't lose all/half of every time I kill something would be nice.

Something small enough to be a frigate is the question, Sabre maybe? Miranda or NX? Though they may be too big.

Advanced Runabouts have 18000 hull, just throwing that out there. Compare that to advance Peregrines, those have 2.5k I think, in any case something really low. If you want your pets to stay out there and not being killed by any space breeze get those.

I simply want something that is efficent against all types of targets: Shielded/unshielded, moving or not... And it should have got enough hitpoints to stay alive for more then a few seconds.

If it is an elephant in an EV-Suit or a Yellowstone-Runabout is not the primary thing... It shouldn't force me to fly circles (tractor-beams, chroniton-torpedoes) and it shouldn't waste energy (tachyon-beam) on unshielded targets.

Why don't you just switch pets and adapt to the situation. You must realise that it's impossible to have the uber hangar pet. Whenever you fight against shielded opponents: Delta flyers, wherever you need to hold an opponent: Danube, whenever you need to do Damage: Peregrine. Plain and simple.

Saber maybe... but what ship would you give Frigates to?

Atrox/the inevitable next Fed carrier probably, I don't see the Amitage as being big enough to launch frigates.

not sure if CBS will approve it, but would like a Jellyfish style Fighters for my Carrier.

Or how about a Venture Class Scout from Armada, they seem small enough

If they actually release hangar pets that carry individual copies of EWP I might just curl into a fetal position and cry.

They can't approve it, Paramount owns the rights to anything from the 2009 movie.

You also wouldn't be seeing ships from other Trek games without a huge amount of legal wrangling that I doubt Cryptic/CBS would care to get involved in.

What the OP wants is a runabout sized pet (with the 18K hull or whatever) that is all dps like the peregrine fighter, aka doesnt have a gimmicky ability like tractor beam or tachyon beam.
That's a reasonable request to make.

PvP Is already insanely broken, so we're forgetting it exists until it gets overhauled.

The Venture is from Star Trek Insurrection, so IP probably isn't going to be a problem.

The venture scout isnt from armada really its from Insurection, data flew it at start of movie. Venture scouts are great idea for frigate type as i think they are slightly larger then delta flyers, but still far from size of a miranda =/

Need to make one of those ships from ent larger on inside smaller on outside. Fed ships just arent large enough to launch mirandas.

Technically the Vo'Quv hangers shouldn't be able to handle BoP either, but it does. Depending on which size you use for the ever expanding/shrinking BoP.

I'm mostly thinking Miranda or NX since they won't be getting a T5 version, if they can sneak them in as frigates, we still get to kind of sorta play with them at end game.

lol. PvEers need more help beating this game's insanely easy content?

How about making the singleplayer and STF content interesting instead of releasing more junk?

I'm leveling a new char and it's almost as bad as dental work. So damn painfully boring.

    Hi,

    I don't want a game-breaking Hangar-Pet. It won't be easier to level-up a character, because only Vice-Admirals may use the Federation-Carriers.

If the Elite STFs are to easy for you, then you should join a public-queue for Cure Space... If you are lucky, you'll get an interesting fight, because of someone who blows up a cube early.

Balancing... A good point. Only the Atrox may use the Stalker-Fighters, so we could talk about an Armitage-Only-Hangar-Pet... And don't forget: Usually you only launch 2 Shuttles instead of 3 Fighters, so you won't be able to spam the map with heavy Shuttles.

i thought with gozer leaving this was pretty much forgotten?

"we love pvp so much we arnt going to do anything but make it worse until we make it better"---- cryptics approch to pvp.

    Hi,

I never said the Shuttle has to get a tier 2 ability. If it would only be a tier 1, that would be a little minus-point. This way it wouldn't be too efficent against shielded targets (=Delta-Flyer would be more efficent) and against unshielded it wouldn't be more efficent then those Peregrines...

What do you think about it?

awesome....more nub pets for pvp. why do you even need to spam in pve? the npc are so stupid you dont even need bo powers to pwn in even elite stf.......
