Doffs as contribute

corim2801corim2801 Member Posts: 0 Arc User
10 "white" chefs as contribute for a fleet project???

my doff-roster has place for 400 officers and is almost full with purple, blue and some green doffs. for white ones there is no space.
i think i am not the only one with a roster like this.

so how to fullfill a fleet project, where "white" doffs are needed?
i really don't want to send purple doff to the death, just to get the chance to maybe get a white chef.

can we get a system to change one green doff back to 5 or 4 or 3 white doofs?
...or a system to change a white psychologist for a white engineer?
something, where WE really can decide, what we get?

i would pay dilithium per exchange, if we get such a system... :)

To be honest, there is just such a system already, it is called the Exchange, you can even search for White Chefs and that is all you will get (granted Fed and KDF are mixed, but other than that it is exactly what you are looking for I think.

But if his roster is full he can't pull from the exchange because there is no room.
I have a similar problem, I don't have many spots left in my 275 for common. I've actually worked to get rid of commons. But I am hoping fleet wide this won't be an issue.

Many years, when I tried to Fed-Ex my little sister to China, that was frowned upon. In this game, it is almost mandatory. :D

If his roster is full, how is he going to be able to do a reverse DOFF Compactor mission (5 for 1) then?

roughly 600 or so DOFFs in my mailbox (tiny little things)

it was just an idea, to have such a reverse DOFF compactor mission...
as i said my roster ist ALMOST full. there are allways a few slots free.
but having the possibily to exchange officers from on typ to another would be quit comfortable...

and looking at the in-game-exchange: the cost of DOFFs will rapidly increase...

I saw a dev post that said they were going to put in a reverse where you turn in 1 green and get 3 whites, and so on. So it would be trade 1 get 3.

    If I remember right.

Well I hope they do just that with the reverse system, because DOFFs on the exchange are going to go like hotcakes.

As for us who maxed out 400 slots with nothing but Blues and Purples just got to use the mail as storage to free up space, unless Cryptic is going to create somekind of system that lets you temporarily store them in order to transfer them to a fleet holding area to be used.

Just surprised the Devs really didn't put this much thought into their system.

Seriously, how can you not make room out of 400 doffs? Pretty sure someone did the math on what was the most efficient number of doffs, and it was below 150 total. It sounds like y'all love to hoard, lol...I shudder to think of what those banks look like.

Roll an Alt character to hold common quality doffs.

The Duty Officer contributions (particularly the common doffs) allows newer players to contribution their starting crew to Fleet contributions while they level up to VA/LG. Their Dil, Expertise, EC will go to their own character progression. When they get to end game, they can throw more into the communal pot.

By creating a secondary use for doffs, Cryptic increases doff value on the exchange. New players can get EC and established players will have an EC sink to re-balance the game economy. I expect the prices of common doffs to higher than uncommon the first few weeks of season 6.

My main has around 290 doffs of blue/purple quality and my newest alt toon is holding around 100 doffs of what I know we'll need for the first tier. Specialized groups of doffs, like Flight Deck Officers, Colonists, Tac/Sec, etc are taking up space in my mailbox. Sorry Cryptic for the database clutter.

The only drawback I can see is for solo fleet owners. They are going to have buy more character slots, doff slots, and Doff packs. All of which are available in the C-store. I believe that is why Cryptic is fine with solo fleets with the new starbase system.

At least you can self invite Alt toons to the fleet.

You shouldn't go insulting people like that.

Those at Cryptic never told people to save slots for commons to be used for Starbase grinding.

I'm real iffy with storing doffs in mail. We had a number of threads where players lost their stuff during the forum change over.

What I don't understand is why there's no system for contributing green doffs for say 5 white doffs, or blue one for 25 whites? That would make sense, wouldn't it?

There is. Just hasn;t been released yet.

And my battery is dead so someone else is going to have to give the link.

You know playing since beta, I have never lost anything in mail.

Also I don't think it's hoarding. This game you never know what the next change brings and what you might need or can plop on the exchange for mad cash. Right now my bank has 60 unopened Cardi boxes. I know as supply dwindles they will be worth more to people still looking for the ship.

I'll bet they thought about it and decided to watch the ensuing panic as people realised they suddenly needed those white doffs they'd been airlocking for months.

Would you rather every starbase doff requirement was for blues or purples?
