Looking for friendly, growing fleet

So I've been hearing a lot of good things about being in a fleet, and I've decided it would be nice to be in one. I am currently a tactical Captain, grade 31. I've played for about a month, which means I know what's happening but I don't have a ton of experience. I'm generally nice to people, but that's probably because I don't talk much. I'd be willing to talk more with people I'm familiar with, and that's part of the reason why I'm looking for a fleet.

Here's the kind of fleet I'd like to join:
-It must be somewhere between casual and hardcore. I like to just sit and talk every so often, but I'm here mainly for the game, and I want to do missions with people who want to play and know what they're doing (better than I do) but don't take it super-seriously. Also, I don't play every day, and I'd like to be in a fleet that's cool with that.
-A medium-sized fleet is preferred. Not so small I only see the same seven (of nine lol) people all the time, but not so large that I end up being the 137th wheel.
-Voice chat is okay with me. I went back in time to the 90's and found a microphone, so it's all good.
-A sense of humor is a must. (In case you couldn't tell, some of the above was my attempt to be funny. Laugh, darn you.) At the same time, it needs to know how to be mature at other times.
-I really don't care if it's role-playing or not, but if it encourages role-playing, it's a plus. I also don't care what you talk about. If I'm interested I'll join in, and if I disapprove I'll get over it because people are people, and Internet-people are just weird sometimes.

Above all, I'm really just looking for friends to do missions and possibly develop the fleet with. I've looked at a few huge fleets, and I decided I'd rather have a specific team I can count on and talk to. Are there any fleets like that?

Hi ghervon, you might want to check out my fleet, The Wise Guys. We've been around for a while but we're not so big that you will ever get lost in a crowd. We have a competition available soon to all fleet members which tie in with the starbases. Info here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=4610341&postcount=14

Here is our recruitment page: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=290921

The TOS Veterans are a mature (+30) casual fleet but we have a good group of really active (not-so-mature) people. I have to say that these guys are helpul, supportive, funny (at least I am) and a lot of fun to hang out with.

I just wanted to run down your list and compare it to the {UFP}. Here's my take on it:

-We believe people should be allowed to play however they feel comfy. Hardcore? We have a spot for you. Very casual? You fit in as well. Somewhere in between? Probably even better. Our only requirement is you sign roll call once a month, which takes all of one minute. Who can't do that?
-The good news. We're not a small fleet by any stretch of the imagination. The bad news. We skew to the other extreme quite a bit (500 member fleet and nearing that in our alt fleet). The good news- Anyone in this fleet who is willing to work for it can attain any position in the fleet, including membership on the command staff. Now, if you expect to go from cadet to Vice Admiral in 30 days, look somewhere else. If you want to work your way up the ladder by applying yourself, then join. I have worked my way to Commander in about a year and a half, but others have done so even quicker (deservedly so, I might add). How far you go is up to you.
-We use TeamSpeak3, but it's not required. I do think it helps so I would suggest using it.
-Well, here's the thing. We are a worldwide fleet, and as such we have people from all parts of the globe. This includes the UK, which does have a sense of humor, but is not like the American one. If you are willing to put up with theirs.... they will do the same with yours. (If you didn't get the humor in what I just said, I might be wondering what you meant by having a sense of humor! haha)
-Not only do we have RP, but we have a dedicated server and a dedicated game we use to role play on. I'm not involved in it, but those that are seem to really be enthusiastic and enjoy it.
There you have it. Why not give us a try. Just click my siggy banner to find out more and tell 'em Stormy sent ya. I think you'll be glad you did.
