Just tried the interior hard mission (the computer core) in a semi-pug team. I was with one of my fleetmates, and he's a good player, as I am (both maco elite commander running IGE without any issue on a weekly basis).

This was'nt an easy mission, we found out how to use the bonuses, and we went to stage four, with 20s remaining. This one is challenging, pretty enjoyable, it only requires a good amount of teamwork and the appropriate equipment (we didn't have it).

Feedback : it should be perfectly doable with our bonuses (turrets, security teams, bombs, etc). It's the right difficulty setting here; we just need a fix for turrets, clones, medics, and security teams. The bonuses are fine but people seems to have difficulties to understand they don't have to use them as soon as they are available. The holodeck one looks a bit weak though, it didn't kill as many tholians as the bombs or phasers did. The difference may be 1:3 or so.

MED missions are way to easy. If they are supposed to be for a group then I should have more issues doing it by myself.

HARD missions need to be toned back. The leader mission the trappers are way over powered, with no way to break the hold. At one point my team had the room fill, along with trappers and then it was just impossible to get past that. The self destruct needs some way to heal the core. You have tholians lobbing that goo at it with no way to stop them, yet no way to counter act it. In Cure you can heal the hang, the vault you can heal the reman dude. I understand these missions being made hard, but maybe tone back a bit.

That was the first place I went, but it never let me access the system. Someone told me that the prompt for the mission is located in the Neutral Zone. No success.

Strange. Why is it down there? According to the television series and movies, the Neutral Zone is supposed to be the border around Romulan Space.
Is the character you're attempting to run the mission on at Level 50?

From the Tribble patch notes (link)

If the character you're attempting to access the mission with is indeed Level 50, I assume there's a bug. If the character is not yet Level 50, that's the reason you can't access the mission yet.
No, he is not yet level 50. I have only reached Commander. If that is indeed the requirement, then I respectfully request that this requirement be specifically added to the blog, instead of having us waste the entire day trying to find a mission we are not even eligible for in the first place.

In any case, thank you for clarifying this for me. That was the information I was looking for.

Mineral matters bugged on me. When I took the first exterior version I had to collect 250. While this was in progress I picked up a version for the interior requiring 500.

When I got to 275 I turned in the 250 with no problems, the other assignment remained at 275/500. I decided to pick up the exterior again and progress for each changed to 25/375 & 25/500.

Another issue I had was with trying to change instance to meet up with group member, just clicking the tab to select an instance would bring up a zone loading screen stuck at 40% and hang for awhile, then the instance list would eventually appear.

the neutral zone could also refer to the former (and probably reinstated) federation/klingon border area which was also a neutral zone - remember spock's briefing in Undiscovered Country:

Spock: Good morning. Two months ago, a Federation starship monitored an explosion on the Klingon moon, Praxis. We believed it was caused by overmining and insufficient safety precautions. The moon's decimation means a deadly pollution of their ozone. They will have depleted their supply of oxygen in approximately 50 Earth-years. Due to their enormous military budget, the Klingon economy does not have the resources with which to combat this catastrophe. Last month, at the behest of the Vulcan ambassador, I opened a dialogue with Gorkon, Chancellor of the Klingon High Council. He proposes to commence negotiations at once.

    Admiral Cartwright: Negotiations for what?

Spock: The dismantling of our space stations and starbases along the Neutral Zone, an end to almost 70 years of unremitting hostility which the Klingons can no longer afford.

I entered the zone shortly after another individual. The system auto corrected and moved me off to the side. I didn't have my enviro suit on yet. I started catching fire and taking damage. I quickly enabled the enviro suit and the damage stopped.

I know this will make my unpopular, but I like the way that engineers suffer. Sometimes the tools you have are just unsuitable for the job. A way to "solve" the problem would to be issue engineers with a "Hostile Environment" kit.

Sure so long as Tactical Captains are limited to using only Lunge and Science Captains are limited to using only Triage. Can't us any other Kit powers. Than and only then I'll agree with your suggestion.

Has any engineer even tried to use "quick fix" on the core yet it should count as a mechanical target and quick fix is the power to fix deployables and the android Boff. That clas is actually more than a turret farm. They get support and some controll powers.
what the hell is up with the crappy "f" at the end of my name was never there on either website till the crappy change

The missions are good. However there are some issues I found.

    1. In the mission involved in collecting data records some records seem to appear on the walls of certain Tholian rooms around the area that looked like diamond shaped lockers.

    2. In the rewards when completing a mission of the same difficulty no rewards appeared.

Aside from that the game was very nice.

When using the Borg Prosthetic weapons the weapon "bolts" disappear because of the brightness of the map. if for any reason you have your sound turned off the only way you can tell you're actually firing your weapon is by seeing the damage being done to the enemy health bar.

Also sometimes for the mine crystals, the ones that you can mine from sometimes the graphical effect showing you can mine from it sometimes washes out or is too light to actually tell you can mine that one.

To get the Tholian Phase Stabilizer Shutdown Codes, you need to 'rescue' trapped friends. The Starfleet officers you rescue will give you the codes, as long as you ask them if they are ok. Then, they will beam back to base camp.

These are the ones who are trapped in the webs, up on the rock formations scattered around the map.

That's just it though: there are at least 2 neutral zones: The romulan one we heard of in TOS, the Klingon one Spock spoke of in the beginning of The Undiscovered Country...

so yeah, neutral zones, not zone

Ditto on the silly prisoner dialogue trees and the lag problems. Also, I've had reward boxes be empty.

One larger bug is that I was able to double up on the zone wide body count mission. After handing in science reports, I was given the chance to take a second instance of thinning the hive which ran concurently with the one I was already on. Every dead Tholian counted for both.

Enjoyed the test run. Looking forward to the final live version.

Keep burning up despite having an EV suite on. Happens most commonly just outside the camp when speaking to security officer.

UPDATE: Alas! It appears you have to activate it as well as equipping it; I am embarrassed!

UPDATE: Good so far; I love the EV suit sound effects e.g. the breathing and pressurising. Also, Tholian SFX nice too.

UPDATE: Done 3 missions, looking good! Look forward to the release :D

    Tholians look very cool.
Missions seems OK, not awesome, but not bad either.
At least it's a genuine new mission!
Had 2 empty requisition boxes before I finally got one that had something in it.
Wish my security team wouldn't instantly die...or the combat drones, Mugato, Horta etc wouldn't die...at least the non living combat pets shouldn't die instantly.
And I would kinda think the Shadows from the Shard of Possibilities would have EV suits on since they are supposed to be "Shadows" of yourself.
But, overall, not too difficult to figure stuff out, nice landscapes and decent rewards.
    Good Job, Dev team. :D

    With the exception of several things I've been told, in match, are already reported glitches;

    Prisoners lighting ablaze,
    Unable to close the portal,
    and so on,

Everything appears to be well done.

And though I'm not mocking anyone, I apologize, watching players run by without EV Suits and make it about 15 to 20 paces before burning up is actually kind of funny. :D <= What I mean is it would be nice if you were notified before beaming down to the planet that you need your EV Suit on.

Mission seems to be hurky-jerky, and the Tholians seem to spawn a little quick, but otherwise, not bad, outside the other issues mentioned.

"Closing Doors" doesn't seem to work; can't close the portals.

My husband already filed a report:

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=299361

As a less experienced gamer, like the graphics for the tholians, but shouldn't a "demon class" planet have more randomized of an environment? Voyager showed one example and it was calm (just watched it with my husband yesterday), but I was kind of expecting it to be harder to see things, just in general, and maybe even more volcanic stuff.

Play wasn't bad, though the respawn rate was a little high for me.

Right now, our KDF group can not get kill credit for the Hard: Exterior: Transdimentional Tactics Tholian Boss. The tracker changes to 'Defeat Tholian Boss' but doesn't register a kill (despite killing him, and killing him again).

It seems that now the quantum shadows from the shard of possibilities no longer burn up but they aren't wearing EV suits and the two primary security guys from security escort do beam in wearing EV suits and don't die, but any additional escorts that also beam in as a result of having the proper doff(s) on active ground duty don't have an EV suit and still burn up and die.
My main character is T'Les which was also my former forum name and I want it back! Hylarr is one of my alts.

It would be nice to have the back story for what the Tholians are doing. First time we see them is in the Starbase defense (or Blockade I can't remember wich) mission. And we see Mirror universe ships fighting along side them. Now, the Tholians have them held prisoner and are deconstructing one of there ships? It would be nice to have a half dozen or so story missions to set up what these guys are up to. Oh was that ship stuck in that cave after a phase cloaking accident?

The exterior missions were kind of boring, Except for the hard mission. I'm not interested in the mining and the free the redshirts was not great the second time around. I liked the fight with the leader, and getting roped into the rising acid pool was cool.

The Interior maps were gorgeous. The similarity between this prison and the 4028 prison made me wonder again about the ties between the Tholians and the Mirror universe. But I'm willing to bet it was simply a reuse of available assets. The Interior missions were more interesting than the Exterior ones. I really liked the Hard mission on the Interior. The use of the ship abilities indoors was pretty ingenious.

I picked up two of the three set pieces from the Medium missions. The loot I got from the Hard mission was a rifle that wasn't part of the set. Is there better loots then the three piece set in the hard missions? If not that seems strange considering the Defera invasion hard missions drop the Prosthesis randomly.

The Tholians movements are very jerky
There is about a 2-4 second lag before powers go off, especially grenade (allowing the Tholians to avoid them)
With the combat interruptions the amount required to mine is somewhat large
    Zonewide lag is very bad

Other than that it's a very fun area, much better than the Borg Defera invasion.

Also, some of the old events should be taken off the long timers between times you can do them; like the Mirror Universe Invasion, because it doesn't give any collection items like the Borg Invasion and Vault Shuttle event do. And, the times events show up could be more consistent, instead of the migrating times like they are now. That way players could better plan their playing time to make these events b

The Tholian zone seemed to play very well. The only comment I would make is when hailing the base camp for completed missions you have to re-hail the camp for each mission. The duty officer is not cycling through the completed missions for rewards.
