STO Web App

There has been a lot of talk of potentially getting Android/iOS apps for STO, to access mail, chat, duty officers, etc.

What I think would be a good idea would be to create a Web App to do all these things. It could work from the web browser, and therefore on on those devices as well as on older systems and laptops with weaker specs, or systems where you do not have authority to install software. (not to mention ubuntu and chromebooks, etc.

    I actually would like to see something like this. When we are not able to jump in game, this would be a great alternative.

    We've been previously told that Cryptic's license with CBS doesn't allow them to develop mobile apps.

    Not what we were told with the DOFF system which has been commented on was designed for a touch interface.

    It has been rumoured to happen but nobody can tell us a yes there is or no there won't be a app like this.

    I suppose we will have to wait and hop that this will be done

    They have never told us that their license prohibits a mobile app. What they *have* told us is that they would like to do one but there is no ETA.

    Unfortunately with all of the threads on this and all of them written by Archived Post (As well as those 2 damn kids) it makes it hard to research this. I see a couple of posts that in all likelihood are dev written but there's no way to tell any more.

    This is why making new posts over and over again on the same idea is a bag thing and they should be combined on sight.

    TBH we heard a developer talk about a web app in a pod cast interview and didnt mention if it went against CBS so tbh, I can see this happening.
