About Auxiliary to Battery

kaeajakaeaja Member Posts: 517 Arc User
Is this Engineering ability even worth it? I mean id only really consider using it once I've used up all my Sci abilities and have nothing to put the Aux power towards. That being said, is it useful on a Carrier like the Atrox? Typically i use Emergency Power to Shields and Reverse Shield Polarity. THAT being said is it worth using Lt Commander Reverse Shield Polarity over its Lt version or is the difference between them so minimal it doesn't matter?

With the right DOFFs you can use it not only to boost your weapon/ shield and engine power but it can also shorten your recharge timers on the other abilities.

i've had 3x green DOFF's assigned to it, each giving 6% BO recharge reduction. (purple is 10% blue is 8% each DOFF). the skill itself is 1min recharge but RSP can reduced by 18% (3x green DOFFs) twice in the normal RSP recharge time.

so in short, yes it can be useful depending on how your setup

It is worthless. Unless you have the DOFFs that make it reduce the recharge time of all Bridge OFficer abilities. Then it's suddenly quite useful.

It's a bad design IMO. The base ability should already be useful, and the DOFFs should not have such a strong effect on an ability's effect!

Just to add to the info in this thread... To get the purple doffs which support the reduced cool down you should complete the B'Tran colonization chain and then repeat the "Support B'Tran Cluster Colonization Efforts" mission. When you get a critical success on the support mission you get awarded with the doff "Ten of Ten".

You can get multiple Ten of Tens from doing this.

In my experience though, I have never been able to use 2 DOFF's with the same name even if I could stack the DOFF's otherwise.

You got to complete the colonial chain for B'Tran, in order to get the support mission that rewards you the Technican DOFF.

Yes, you need to be in the B'Tran Cluster. Like with all other Colonial Chain missions as well. (All Colonial Chain missions grant some rare+ DOFF reward at the end, so they are useful to do.)

The base ability can be somewhat useful as it can basically turn a healer into combat ship for a few seconds. But, as been stated before, it becomes more useful with the right duty officers.

If you can't get the support B'tran cluster chain started when you go into the zone click your department heads tab then look at the assignments from your operations officer.

The DOFF support chains are the biggest and most ignored FREE source of very rare doffs. I have 5 of each on one of my tunes. Btran cluster is the one you want for the tech its in Gamma Orionnis.

As far as aux2bat it's great with the right setup particularly for Eng captains I think. I wouldn't try it with a carrier as a sci captain, since you need your aux for all of your sci abilities and aux2bat will take all of your aux and dump it into you other three subsystems.
