game crashing every time

so, i tried to start the game (in safe mode too) and it will always crash when selecting the tribble server. i also wasted my time today to reinstall the whole game (with really removing every file and select another game location). it didnt help, i cannot join tribble. the normal server however works (even though, i sometimes get loading screens that take like 2-3 minutes until i am in the menu, i think there is something wrong too. recently, the safe mode was the only good option to enter the game). i never had problems before.
What ? Calaway.

i reinstalled it now twice again and tried different things (running as admin or not, deinstall firewall,...) and its still not working. i can connect to the normal server without a problem but when i click engage for tribble, it immediately crashes. there is some bug report collector running in the background. it would be nice to inform people about this with some ballon or something. sometimes i play via 3G and i only have 5gb. those bug reports are 200mb in size (or something) and i didnt even notice about it but when i suddenly run out of megabytes.

Have you made a character transfer to tribble?

two to three minutes on load screen? Have you disabled on-demand patching in the launcher options menu? Just because you have 16gb of ram doesn't mean STO can make use of it.

Have you tried disabling your anti-virus while launching tribble through the launcher?

yes and yes. besides this, i dont even have an anti virus software installed. only the windows firewall and i deactivated that too. its not like something changed. it didnt work anyone after one of those patches and even though i reinstalled the whole game, it still does not work.

Ill ask the question of what kind of video card and how recent are your drivers?

I have a Geforce GTX 675M and i use 296.31 (because thats the only available for this card at the moment, a new one will come soon).

I would wonder if this is the reason as i can run the holodeck without problems (except from long loading times from time to time)

ps: i reinstalled again yesterday in a different folder and still no change.

    FIXED !

    and here is how:

i thought about this graphic card thing that castsbugc mentioned and i thought "lets play around a bit". At this point, i want to mention, that my laptop is using Nvidia Optimus. That means, i have 2 graphic cards. One Intel HD 4000 and the Geforce GTX675M. Normally, when i start a game, the Nvidia starts too immediately (like it does on holodeck). Somehow, on tribble, it doesnt, so i forced the application to use my Nvidia and it worked.

If this can be fixed with some code, it would be good. If not, maybe add a note to some kinda F.A.Q because i guess there will be more and more people running around with Nvidia Optimus in the future.

    :D

Glad I could help. Thats odd the game swaps video sources like that, also nice to know that the intel onboard GPU still sucks for running it :(

yes, i was wondering too, because as far as i remember, i could play on holodeck with my Intel HD4000 (when i had problems with my drivers some weeks ago). i have an LED indicating what card is in use and it was white the whole time (instead of orange). its good that this is fixed now.

you can change it in bios setup when you start your computer.
