STO Forums: Klingon Style [Picture]

Change is upon us. So with that in mind, I started to wonder what it might be like if the new forums supported customization based on a person's desired faction. Especially since our avatars go down this road.

We're obviously running Starfleet/FED blue atm, and I can only imagine how this might irk some stalwart warriors of the empire - so I tried my hand at a mockup of what a Klingon forum might look like. Its not supposed to be pristine, just a few rough around the edges concept images to get an idea of what we could have.

What do you guys think? (images may be a little large ~ 1mb)

    i like your thinking my friend that pic of your was really nice i fully agree however there will more than likely be some techno babble issue.

    I think that a Neg'Var would be better than the Bortas, due to it been the equivalent of the Galaxy.
    Still it does look good.
    Fancy doing a Romulan skin :tongue:.

    Yeah good point. I'd certainly be putting more attention into these if I was going to use them. Ofc, there are ways to actually customize like this, but it would be awesome if we could have official themes.

    Heres a Romulan Star Empire one (even more tacky I'm afraid)...

    Nice job, Not a big Klingon player but that looks cool.

    I am however looking forward to when we get Romulans and if that profile was available I would be using it.

    I doubt I would change it even if I could since I prefer the blue, but those are good looking mock ups. No reason not to have them for those who would prefer a different theme.

    the red text might be a bit much, but allowing the graphic to be selectable and independant of your avatar selection might be nice.

    Honestly they should have made a teaser and put the new under construction Season 6 starbase there instead of spacedock.

    Wow, that add for those survey thingies that probably aren't actually going to reward you as has been shown for years over on PWI forums are pretty tacky. I'm sure glad I'm running adblock so I don't see that garbage and can turn off the facebook scroller too.

    Sadly, I don't see them giving us any options. :(

    I would probably put ships in the main viewer rather than the clone people. I would happily contribute to a Klingon theme for the forums, especially with including some actual Klingon language in the form of the Klingon pIqaD (the Klingon writing system seen in my signature -- those are all actual words in tlhIngan Hol, not just gibberish symbols).

    That would be a nice feature, but all the Klingons would complain how Red it is and how they get headaches :rolleyes:

    Why don't you make that up in Stylish code and do a distro? I see that everyone seems to be talking about going that way. I guess I could fire up the Gimp and make some "stuff" too. There is no harm in using Stylish for your own designs.

    Well enough gabbing, I got to get back to some serious gaming... my Farmville account is suffering. :biggrin:
