Is there a way to see what rating my bridge officers are after they are assigned to my ship? I know that they are colored, blue, green, purple, when they are on the right side but what about after you add them?

Best suggestion I have is to put a note in their bio when you commission them.

Looking at the BO passives is certainly helpful. But it really doesn't satisfy the at a glance need. Maybe somewhere on each BO's tab, place a colored rarity bar just under the BO's name and rank?

Once the boff is on your crew the rarity color alone doesn't tell you a thing, you need to know what the passives are. And if you aren't using that boff for away teams and just for space, rarity means nothing at all if you've had it trained with the skills you want.
Individually check each BO for the # of Superior traits? It shouldn't be that complicated to find your BO's rarity. Whatever you name your BO, it should be written in the color of their rarity in the character window.

Watch for Nausican or Alien Boff's with the extremely rare Space trait of "Efficiency." (Efficiency of ship subsystems by 5%) -- note that this trait isn't related to rarity, it's a racial feature very, very few Nausicans have (at least judging by my trolling exchange for one with the trait). I got lucky on one toon -- one of the "starter white" level Nausicans had it -- she's been permanent member of the crew through a couple of Boff swaps.
Humans Boff's all have the space trait of "Leadership." (20% faster damage and subsystem repair). Rarity again means nothing.
The humanocentrism rather annoys me -- I know from rolling a custom race Captain that there are a couple of other race-spaced base traits . . . that apparently none of the boffs ever get.

Aand that is why I said you need to look at the passives, as I said rarity means nothing with those traits, so again color coding has no value once the boff is on the crew, and reading the passives is the thing you need to do.
I'd assume that once the Officer is assigned duty (you add him to your bridge crew) then the rarity is no longer a factor, as you could decide to retrain him to all basic trainer skills for example - leaving him far from being Very Rare, or even Rare. My point being, once they are recruited, then rarity kind of goes out the window imo.

If the officer does a good job , is well liked and stands his round in the bar ??
why does it matter once you have assigned them to your bridge its over. Unless you want to train them for a friend...?
