Anyone else notice that the start dates are all reset to June of 2012? I joined the STO Forums in 2010 not 2012!

    yet another PWE fail.

all these forum accounts are "brand new" we all got reset as they couldnt be bothered to look at this forum change in detail before implementing it and what the imapct would be to players.

I am not a number! I am a free man!

Nope, your just a figure on an accountants spreadsheet.

It's not really fail, OR wrong.

These aren't the Star Trek Online forums you know. These forums are a subsidiary of the Perfect World site, and forums, and are thus "Brand New."

They simply copied over all the posts from that "old, Star Trek Online Forum," with all the posters being renamed "Archived Post."

They set up a system to sync up the information for your game-account, and create a BRAND NEW Perfect World account for the forum, making the "Join Date" in June of 2012.

Start dates are not reset, you just created a PWE account so the date you joined is correct since this is a PWE forum and not the Cryptic forum we know and love.

Not really even a PWE account, because there are people who had PW accounts prior to this and even that's been reset.

Frankly, I miss my join date of July 2008. Because it showed I supported this game for a long time. Now that dignity is gone. :frown:

Well, a new forum account, I suppose. It synced your Game-Account with a new forum account.

Also, you can always put your original join-date in your signature. That's what I plan to do, should I be forced to officially convert.

    You will be.

In my mind, it's best to rip the band-aid off now, do it while they're offering special rewards.

Your "Join" date was a good judge about the poster and if he/she even had a clue about the subject at hand. Now, I have no idea about who most posters are because of the username changes as well. My username here is NOT what my username was....
You know Cryptic has Jumped the Proverbial Shark when they introduced Tractor Pulling to Star Trek Online! :D

As has been pointed out in another thread, you can make another PWE account just for posting on with a different display name.

It's a play on words: It literally doesn't mean you joined the site on this date, it means you joined the PWE collective on this date.

    i.e. assimilated
    KBF Lord MalaK
    Awoken Dead

Now shaddup about the queues, it's a BUG
