Do you like free ZEN?

Alright for giggles I clicked on it to see where it went (at least I thought I might be able to do a zen--->c-point conversion - hey I needed a break at work).

So I clicked it and got a message that I could not participate because I need to have an account at least XX days old and a character of at least level 10. Well, hmmm my account predates the PWE/Cryptic relationship and I have five lvl 50 characters.

I know what the issue is, STO is still not fully integrated and we all start from square one now in PWEs eyes. But, really...jump the gun on these changes much? It is obvious things are not working as they are supposed to and I personally feel the full integration should have been held off until there was a enough QA info to flesh all these items we are rapidly filling the forums up with.

    Well, it's semi-integrated. Yes, you need to have your account be 10 Days old in PWE eyes. That much can't be avoided.

    However, I've heard that creating a new character automatically refreshes your character list in the PWE system, allowing you to do the surveys/other offers.

    my Cryptic acc is nearly 5 years old. I connected my profiles more than a month ago. I could access the earn Zen sutff after the week (edit 10 days) I had to wait (like you).

    guess what? now I can't access that part of the site, because my PWE account got reseted with all the others. logic in there? none I guess

    This is annoying, I linked my PWE account months ago and could easily do survey for ZEN, and have done several times, but now it says I cannot because of same reason. Why did it reset those who have already linked???

    As I viewed this mess, I am happy that my Lifetime Subscription Day Count had successfully increased.

    I do dread the 900 day reward as having taken the "gift" that I got from the Linking of Accounts, I sent that stuff to the Vendors and looked at the dilithium reward of 5,000K and muttered... "I went through the headach of doing the Link and loosing 4 hours of play time for THIS?"

    This logistical failure is likely going to cost STO players. I managed to keep a Fleet member from leaving my own fleet after discussing the issue and he agreed to stay.

    All I ask is that in the future when planning such a nightmarish event, research and ask the players of STARTREK ONLINE about what should help make future transitions easier.:cool:

    Well I have an old enough of an account boys, here is what you get offered.

    IO Beauty - 1395 (1116 cp) when you register.

    Netflix - which I already have, offers the 2nd most 1046 Zen (about 837 cp) which you don't get for 3 days after you sign up.

    After that there are tons of gimicks to get your personal info, surveys, downloads, etc.. Some offer less than 100 Zen. I would not bother with this, since I can buy more with $10 than most of these have to offer. Last month I bought 1000 Zen and transferred it to 800 CP without a bother. I got myself 2 extra character slots and blew the rest on silly stuff.

    Oh this is rich, my account has been through PW from the start (63 days old) with a lvl 50 FED char and a lvl 30 KDF char, and now I get this...

    "This feature is inaccessible at this time.

    Your account needs to be at least one week old and have
    a character at least level 10 in order for you to take
    advantage of this feature.

    The only way I'd do those is on a Virtual PC with a spare hotmail account.

    Let all the TRIBBLE accumulate there. Truth be told, for all the trouble these "free money" things are. I'd recommend Mystery Shopping instead.

    I do 2-4 a week on one day and make about 20-35 dollars after gas. I haven't paid for a hair cut since September, my last 2 oil changes were paid for. :biggrin: Right now, I use them as a second income. That extra 80-150 comes in handy with advertising my business.

    Most jobs pay 10-20 bucks, some do reimbursements, and some do both.

    The only real downside is availability of jobs where you live, and the fact payments can take a month or so to pay. If you go this way get an EIN number, it's free and most companies can use that instead of you Social Security Number.

    Just be prepared to do some paperwork. :tongue:
