    Adblock is your friend :)

Pity that there's not one for multiple threads on the same topic. :)

    I probably shouldn't tell them this . . . .

    In fact I won't.

Suffice to say I don't see the Ad.
    No special programs required.

AdBlock[Plus] isn't a program. Its a browser addon. It saps virtually no resources and removes ALL Ads (even in video ads, like those on YouTube). No sane person should be not using it.

I know what it is, but thanks for making me look at it again. Last time I did it wasn't available for my browser of choice but now it appears it is. . . I will get it.

For Firefox I use NoScript as well. . . which double blocks some ads plus the added bonus of blocking all sorts of other potential nasties. Although it also blocks the occasional useful thing which is a minor annoyance.

That too. I do design work on occasion and have the joy of having to turn them off on occasion. *shudder*

I just love visiting sites where the developer never looked at their site without checking it first with an adblocker turned on. http://leasticoulddo.com/ and his other sites comes to mind....

But please don't be ignorant and allow it to show ads on "good" sites!
Those Sites really deserve the money they get through the ads.

There's still a pop-up that Adblock can't override, not a browser-window, but one that is part of the site. I've only seen it once though, seems to be rare.
