TRIBBLE Maintenance and Release Notes - April 4, 2012

We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.

General:
  • The reward items for "Alpha" are now all Bind on Pickup.
  • Resolved many issues for the Klingon mission “Alpha”.
  • Updated the Hirogen Tetryon Blast Rifle:
    • The damage and range of the primary fire was increased.
    • The area of effect on the secondary attack was increased.
      • The damage of the secondary attack was decreased to compensate.
  • Updated Fleet Action: KDF/FED "Romulan Temple"
    • Reduced spawns at the base of the Temple and added a new rally point respawn area.
    • Now after objective 1 is complete, players can click the Beam to Rally Point button to transport to the base of the temple and pick up shield generators.
    • This rally point button remains active during objective 2 and 3 to help players return to the fight quickly.
    • All prior respawn points have been removed in lieu of the rally point.
  • KDF "Federation Minefield" Fleet Action was updated after testing on Tribble.
    • This revamped Fleet Action is now specifically set to a maximum of 5 players and is no longer available via private queues.
    • Mines have been re-added to the first stage of the Blockade.
    • Additional respawns have been added to the Final Stage.
    • Altered scoring for repairing mining facilities to be more on par with ship kills.
    • Resolved a bad waypoint for stage 3.
    • Updated the display name from Federation Blockade to Federation Minefield.
    • Players must now defeat 20 Frigates as a part of Stage 1 to prevent zerging past mines to rescue transports and avoiding combat.
  • Utopia Planitia was added as a template map in the Foundry.
  • Choosing Sol System in the Foundry will no longer cause the client to crash.
    • UPS was trying to live there and things were getting too cramped and the poor game client suffered the fallout.

    Utopia Planitia the center ship hologenerator is like loading all the ship models on top of eachother

    By the way, about the previous update, where it says it resolves something about a turn-in assignment giving an ultra-rare Duty Officer...do you mean it's now possible or impossible?

    Why are we continuing to nerf Fleet Actions?

    The reason I *love* Romulan Temple is it's difficulty. It was almost as tough as the old school STF's, any joe schmoe couldn't just join a pug and faceroll the keyboard to victory, you had to have strategy and teamwork so you didn't get overrun by mobs and clear exit strategies for getting out of the canyons..

    Now they are just watered down versions of a regular mission but open to more players :(

    At least give us an option of an Elite Fleet Action that retains the original Fleet Action and make the nerfed versions the easy Regular difficulty
