Do DOFFs advance?

I have 1 trader, and she's worked to death. In over a dozen missions, she's not gotten any better, no new traits, nothing. Can I assume there's no internal "experience" system behind the scenes, or some way that they grow? Or do I have to do shipboard assignments to make them better, or dump them when I get better ones?

    nope they don't advance. they way you get them is the way they are going to stay.

    Hmmm...ok, then that gets to be my one complaint with the DOFF system :)

    I get that it's a trading card/minigame, and I'm OK with that, but I'd like a bit of growth in my DOFFs if possible. I'd like an assignment to send them off for training or dept head school, see some growth and change in them.

    They go on a mish, get a critical success, and maybe get a new trait.

    Oh well, thanks for the reply. It can't be perfect, I can live with that :)
