P.S. Napoleon loses at Waterloo, The South surrenders and The Titanic sinks.
Sorry about that.
And before people go crazy cakes and respond to my post with the usual vitriol, I just want to point out that I was making a joke. So lighten up, Francis.
I am not sure how Cryptic came up with the current interiors.
Where is the Infirmary? and why can't I walk through the long curved corridors of the Habitat Ring? DS9 has a crew of 400-1,200 with maximum capacity of 7000 people, but it is pretty much empty. I don't get the feeling of scale that I get at Earth Space Dock.

wow they are terrible.. you are right.. even scaling them down by half would help, and thats to start.. the graphics are just too warehouse like
my issues with ds9 are:
1. ops is missing a lot of detail on the walls. its so plain in some areas.
2. ops is missing the power transfer pillar where obrian stands http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/File:Engineering_stations_on_DS9s_ops.jpg
3. the prefects office is missing
4. quarks bar is missing holosuites. the tunnels connecting the floor tiers of quarks are out of place. I understand that the spiral stairs wont work, but maybe compromise with a lift system.
5. quarks second floor should lead out to the second level of the promenade
6. security office, infirmary, clothiers is wrong or missing
7. the replimat and tables are severely lacking.. it just looks like a blank corner. it needs more interest. http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Replimat
8. work on the doors so they slide and open.. that would be cool.
9. i don't think the pylons extending out from the promenade lead directly into large bays. i would imagine they lead to hallways that take you to the habitat and docking rings. extending from the hallways would probably be the cargo bays and shuttle bays, etc.
10. doesn't seem crowded enough
11. outside needs traffic, wormhole could use some improvements, too

All of these would be really great to see...
One thing I would really like to see at some point in the future of the game, is for the larger Hatches to ROLL into their side slots like they did in the show.
I'd like to see a Ship Requisition area similar to the new one in ESD, situated in one of the Docking Pylons.
Look down, you see the rest of DS9, and on another docking pylon is a Nebula Class.
Freighters in the background as well as runabouts and workbees buzzing around would be nice too.
I am not sure how Cryptic came up with the current interiors.

I think the in game screen you posted is more like the cargo area corridors. But it would certainly be cool to have the habitat ring style ones as well. I'm not sure how I feel about opening all of DS9 up to everyone. I'm leaning towards the "yes do it" side of the fence, but I'm just not sure...
They graphically revamp something on a regular basis so we have something new to LOOK at when we run/fly around in circles with nothing to do?
I guess it's something at least.
Mission designers are not environment artists. Upgrading the look and quality of locations that most players interact with is not a bad thing; especially when those changes will feed through into the Foundry sandbox.
Been forever since I have watched much DS9, but he wouldn't let Kurn do his honorable death ceremony, then basically kills Kurn to get him to stop whining. Erasing his memory is essentially giving him an unhonorable death. The one known as Kurn is dead, with no honor in his death. And he would let other cultures do other things, so it seems to show his bias is against JUST Klingons.
There were a few instances of things like that, he seemed at times as though he had no respect for other cultures. But he did flip flop back and forth a little.
I agree 100% with the OP, honestly when I first walked through DS9 I went through all of the stages of grief twice. Every Sunday it is one of the main topics of discussion with the SFI players.
Vader is really Luke's father...and Luke made-out with his sister.
The outside of DS9 is way to large. Completely out of scale, with player ship models. The docking pylons are twice the width of most ships, and Defiant classes are much too small compared to the docking ports along the outer ring.
This station has the most screen time of any in Trek. If any interior should be close to 100% accurate, this one should.

Thing is, the DS9 TV series had NO scale for what went onscreen if you ignore design specs and there ios zero, zilch, nada consistency when it comes to the Defiant's size, which ranges from pracxtically a beefy shuttlecraft to something the size of an Excelsior, practically.
There have been, numerous times, screenshots posted of Galaxy class ships that ARE roughly in scale with the docking pylons we have in game.
I don't think you'll be able to persuade me... or everyone... that it should be smaller.
Interiors are a different story because those have a clear frame of reference that didn't change every time something might look cool or dramatic.
I'm not sure that the exchange areas and such on the DS9 interior are "off" because those are supposed to represent brand new additions to the station interior. The rest of the interior is both too big and too small because it suffers from stretched out ceilings and windows but the walkways look more narrow than what we saw on TV. Overall, I still think it's the best interior map in the game and makes me feel like I'm on DS9.
BUT... it would be nice to see habitat areas and the lower level stuff like security and the infirmiary ported into a persistent social map.
Although, they're at least in game and available for use in The Foundry.
A lot of what we're missing are the interior hallways, the briefing room, and ops.
But distortions aside, if you don't care about perfect accuracy, I think they translated the rough feel of DS9 better than they translated the rough feel of anywhere else in the game.

great ideas! I would love to see Morn in Quark's, as well as the holosuites and some functionality to the dart board and tongo tables.
in addition, the Path to 2409 describes how there should be a Ferengi Embassy on DS9 as well as a Cardassian Embassy representing the Detapa Council. Where are these? Could we put some familiar faces in them like Garak in the Cardassian one?

I would have to see just one picture (undoctored) of a Galaxy class that is in scale with the upper pylons. All 3 of my Galaxy variants are way too small. As for the Defiant argument, how much screen time of the ship parked on one of the outer ring docking ports do you need? They have the scales of each ship roughly correct relative to each other, the station is just huge.
How about Qo'nos's Great hall gets a make over, oh and what about Gandola too? oh wait i guess that wont happen becuz the feds are too busy getting entire sectors getting a make over before a UNFINISHED FACTION gets COMPLETED..... *Face Palms*
A resizing (interior as well as exterior) would be in order too. The the docking arms should not make a Galaxy class starship look small. This means resizing the mission versions of DS9 as well as Empok Nor, but this should be easy since they are virtually identical. All they have to do is remodel one and then duplicate it in all of the other instances.

Klingons are getting the Great Hall redone next. The same people who worked on ESD will be tweaking Qo'nos.

The Great Hall is already getting a make over. The devs have commented on this several times and I believe it is in the Engineering Reports as Work in Progress.

Clint Eastwood kills Hilary S**** in the end.
OMG. I can't believe the forum software bleeped out her name. That's just silly.
Current Interior ..... should more closely resemble ..... THIS

superman is really clark kent:O
Don't fret to much about it..... Even though you got a smige of a clue as to part of the final outcome....
There's a Hell of a lot of story coming up, that'll more than make up for this tiny bit of info.
The last few episodes contain much, much more than Sisko's eventual fate.

It's ok, he doesn't actually die. Or is that a spoiler too? :X

Thank you.:D
Ah....but IS he really?
I see it more as Clark Kent is REALLY Superman......Kent is the disguise......Jorel (Superman) is the TRUE identity there.
Which makes one wonder....what does Superman REALLY think about humans?
Kent is his idea of the average human......(weak, useless, indecisive....kinda Milquetoast really)
I know...WAAAY off topic, but I had to say it....
Now....DS9
Uhm......yeah, it needs more of everything.....and I wanna see a baseball on the desk in the office, by golly.....
What happened to Kurn was Worf's decision.
The wormhole looks completely wrong.
So much needs to be done there

Perhaps you'd like to escape instead to a text-only game where the only factors or numbers? Here ya go! www.play.net/gs4
For the rest of us, things other than numbers matter. The cut of a uniform, keeping things in genre, and yes...making DS9 perfect.
This please!
