we were sold never paying a sub and special pre lifetime order perks.
then the after release lifetime cost more, and didnt come with perks.
now the price is the same, and they can get the perks.
so much for buying early for the special perks.
do the special perks come with the on sale lifetime? or do they cost extra? Either way you still have your perks, and in the case of the latter they still pay more.
When you buy a shirt on sale at the grand opening of a store, do you come back a year later and complain that they have the same shirt is on sale again?
It's the exact same thing. You bought a product on sale, and are now complaining that the company is having another sale.
Let me get this straight, you're upset because people can buy what you bought last year for the same price as you bought it for?
Correct me if I'm wrong, because it seems too asinine to be true.
Because you know, in less than six months, my lifetime subscription is paid for (compared to monthly payments). It would be entirely foolish of me to be upset if someone is going to invest that same amount of money, now, to get the same benefits that I've had for the past year. If anything, I should feel proud of myself for saving that $120-$180 (not sure what the monthly fee is, but I'm assuming it's somewhere between $10 and $15 a month, based on the time between recurring payments).
So, to summarize (even though that statement is the worst way to being a summary ever), cry over something more important, like the lack of goggles in-game.
I don't have the Career Officer title or forum thingy.
I don't have the costume option when I go to the tailor.
I can't get into the Captain's Table as i'm not a 400-day vet yet. Got the game on pre-order, but didn't pay per month to play for a while after launch.
I pay $14.99 a month still when I do play.. Do you?
I had to buy the game when it came out. Came free for lifers.
Was some major ranting about it when both CO and STO weet live about people buying a LT but not the game.
http://startrekonline.com/lifetime disagrees, where it says "Free digital copy of the game: No need to purchase a retail key. It's included in your Lifetime purchase!"
Also, the sale is 20% off to $239.99. If I recall, the price was $250 for a LTS before they raised it to $300. But still, we didn't have to pay $15 a month for the past year.

Think that was added later just because of the complaints. Or maybe because of the raise in price. *shrug*
Also pre order bonuses(such as the TOS Enterprise) is not same as LT bonuses(Liberated Borg).
Wonder if the OP is upset that you can also buy character slots in the C-store.
so now theres like no reason at all to have bought the lifetime sub pre release.
except for the fact you get to play the game from launch. people who buy it now either did not play the game for the last year or had to pay a sub costing them extra.
all the bonuses are up in cstore
no they are not. the blue name on the forum, the in game title, the combadge, the liberated borg character and the captain table are not in the c-store. the captains table is 400 day veteran reward but that was added later anyway. the only thing available in the c-store is more characters slots and that is something everybody should have access to. you got your for free.
and now new lifetimes are up for sale at the exact pre release price.
so? i dont see your point. are you upset that something came down in price or that someone has the opportunity to buy the same thing you did? things generally come down in price be it a tv or a car or whatever, and this is only for a limited time.
so much for being one of the first lifetimers, now anyone can haz all my perks a year later that didnt buy them a year ago.
if they have been subbing all that time then they have paid 12 months of subs more than you. if they have not played the game yet then they are in the same boat you were in 1 months agao. again so what? are you actually upset that someone else has the same opportunity as you.

i am, original lifetime pre orders should get more char slots!
I would have loved to buy a Lifetime when I knew I loved the game back in late January 2010. I had to wait until late March/Early April (when I got my first ever pay packet) to buy my Sub.
You should feel special. Like everyone else who was able to get a lifetime before me.
The only complaint I will make is that why should STO have a cheaper Lifetime price to celebrate a un-related game (save company and game engine) going ftp?
1 Month Sub = $14.99
3 Month = $41.99
6 Month = $77.94 (This is what I was on before becoming a lifer; no sense in buying a lifetime sub if I hate the game.)
Lifetime = $299.99 (Sale Price)
Oh you are special alright.
Special like everyone else...
Agreed. As a Lifer, I encourage others to become lifers and welcome them with /em open arms. I like to see how many people actually love this game enough to invest that kind of cash.
But this is the problem with the world, and we as human beings are programmed like this from a very young age. People are taught that they must somehow be more important than all others in the world, instead of recognizing the fact that we are all equal. We are a race of beings who would far benefit being equals, and helping one another, not just ourselves, to live prosperously.
Sorry, mate. Regardless of how you were raised, you are no better than anyone else. And this means that all people should be allowed to have what you have, to benefit the game and it's community, not just you.
Besides, it's not like anyone ever worshiped you for being a Lifer...

oh well
and how does this affect you in any way shape or form? You still don't have to pay the monthly sub, which is the main reason to get a lifetime.
then the after release lifetime cost more, and didnt come with perks.

I can't be a liberated borg captain.
I don't have the Career Officer title or forum thingy.

What else is left that's in the c-store?

You want more? buy more. Stores don't give you free stuff down the road just because you participated in their first sale.
Not the Captains Table, the badge, Liberated Borg or the title which aren't in the C-store?
ps. This is a rhetorical question.

That's exactly how I feel.
Subscription Prices
For those in the US, total subscription prices:
1 Month Sub = $14.99
3 Month = $41.99
6 Month = $77.94 (This is what I was on before becoming a lifer; no sense in buying a lifetime sub if I hate the game.)
Lifetime = $299.99 (Sale Price)
1) Lifetime supscription (Cheaper than usual). (Yes... for a extremely short time this will be accessable by others)
2) Liberated Borg. (Yes... this goes to all lifetimers now).
Captains table was NOT a part of the original package, and the lifetime badge was never a pre-order only thing...
We have lost extremely little, and what exactly is it that is on the C-Store that we had when we got the pre-order lifetime?
I will see yer insanity maam and raise you one psyhcosis......
Roses are red, violets are blue, im a schizophrenic, and so am I
mmmm, schizophrenia is not dissociative identity disorder
Feeling EVIL is much better. HAHAHA! Mine is an evil laugh.

Does that include or discount worshipping himself?
Good, you never were and never will be.
