What's the most 'facepalm' question you've been asked ingame?

Ok, so we've all been asked them: The questions that just make you facepalm.

My best two so far were from a newer member:
A) While helping him out in one of the earlier missions, I helped decimate the orions (Note, I'm a VA on my main) The guy asks me in fleet chat no less "ARE THOSE CP WEAPONS???????" I was kind, and told him they were just Vice admiral polaron beams coupled with some smashing chroniton torps.

And so he PMed me:
"Come on, just tell me the truth. How much were they?"

B) Sadly, same player as right above... This guy was more than total noob... Literally, almost a year into the game going live, and this guy, AGAIN, in fleet chat, says this:

"EVERYBODY! I have an anouncement!!
Wait for it.
Wait for it.
WAIT FOR IT!
.
.
.
.
.
.
Are you listening Sam? (Sam's my main)
I. Can. Now. Play. A.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
KLINGON!!!!!!!

That is all".
Then he logs off...

So tell me your greatest facepalm stories from Ingame.

    "Where's Sulu"

And with all the respect and admiration that is due, the ultimate prize goes to our fellow ten-forwardite Erica, whom on vent during an infected run in July asks:
"Say, do these green plasma torpedoes look good with my pink hull or do you think they clash?"

I think I can say that just made my day! :D Make ya wonder though... Did they clash? jk :)

And that's not too bad of a question, when it comes to energy types.

I was playing on EVE one day, and I helped this guy with a bossfight, even though he could have done it himself (Except it takes a crapload of time... and that's in a BATTLECRUISER)

However, I ended up not being able to finish it.

The next day, I log into STO, and the same guy from EVE is there, and he asks me this:

"Do you think Dagan will be easier to beat if I use this ship?"

He must have had both games up at once, and not realized he was using the STO chat box.

I just laughed, and said: "I'm not sure how it works for you, but I certainly can't use this ship in EVE. Plus, Dagan would kick the **** out of a Sabre"

If we're talking other games, just about every day out of the YEARS I played SWG I had at least one.

"How do I turn my lightsaber on?"

"where do I find the blue frog" (test center. And the response was usually "It's /quigon". See... in Galaxies to ditch your aplication to desktop there was a command, /q and when you did /quigon, all the game read was /q)

"Hey, you think we can kill a Rancor by beating it to death with fishing poles?"

*friend walks into my player's house on Dantooine* "Yo, can I crash here when I log out tonight? I've spent the last four hours being chewed on by Grauls, beaten by cave people and impaled by force-sesnsitives and Dark Jedi Masters and I really don't think I should be flying right now"

This was my first mmo, so I was the one asking all the noob questions. <__>

I think the first week I sent a tell to cappy upon seeing her toon:
"Hey! I like Asuka; Evangelion is an awesome show! You wanna be friends?"

    Yeah, she didn't respond. (TωT)

The irony is, several months later I made my way to 10f and found her again. Now she wishes she put me on ignore when I bugged her the first time. :p

    One last one from SWG:
"Hey, you think we could like, kill that level 250 Witch that's gaurding the door or...?"
*horrible noises of disfiguring injuries and death follow*

    And back to STO:
    "How do I save?"

I'll be straight up honest. I damn near asked the same question. This is my first MMO as well, and I'd mostly played through all the Tomb Raiders before. Didn't know you didn't have to save. lol...

Not in this game, but in City of Villains. I was playing a Dominator. Now for those who don't know what a Dominator is, it is a 'class' that has a primary of control powers like holds and sleeps and eventually some pet summons and a secondary of blast and melee assault powers.

Now this person sent me a tell asking me if I had any heals. I replied I'm a Dominator, I specialize in control and some blast powers. He then said he knew that from the search feature, but wanted to know if I was a healer.

Sitting right next to SOL, in the spawn point when you leave SOL (hence facing away)

    Newb Player: Where is SOL?
    Me: Behind you.
N-P: There is nothing behind me... I just came from earth.
Me: That's what I am saying: Right Behind you.
    N-P: What do you mean?
Me: Earth = SOL in this game.
N-P: So where is Earth then?
    Me: ...

On a similar Ageis gear note, someone very recently asked me "What's that glowy tron stuff on your ship? How could I get that? Are you a Dev?"

I told them that I wasn't a Dev, and that the 'tron' stuff was simply the Ageis gear. He promptly transwarped out.

Someone I chatted to did actually give away a free aegis set but maybe that was fleet related.

The most facepalm moment that springs to mind is when we asked someone 'did they have vent?' They reply "no which skill is that?". We replied by kicking him. Not sure if that was the most facepalm moment I've come across, maybe not. Ones like "where's sol?" have to be right up there I think. You can forgive someone 'maybe' for not knowing what vent is if you are new to it but Sol? Only way I can understand that is if they didn't realise our sun is indeed called Sol and we are in the Sol system even though STO makes several references to Earth and that instance is called the Sol system.

    Some people...

Was probably because I was talking with a friend in local about free crafting for him.

I do things like that for people I can endure being near for more than 5 minutes.
If one is not in that category then they get a swift boot to the head.

Heh, I facepalm in general when people whine and assume others are cheating when they lose. One of my fleet mates is big on pvp, and he's very good at it.... People accuse him of things just about every time he plays. He's sent us screenshots of his build, highly specialized but totally fair. Plus he has collected just about every accolade, and those little bonuses add up.
Only way I can understand that is if they didn't realise our sun is indeed called Sol and we are in the Sol system even though STO makes several references to Earth and that instance is called the Sol system.

Well, back in the 80's and early 90's, I heard of people talking about other "star systems" or just "systems". More recently, everything gets called a "solar system", even though that's just the name of ours. I blame lazy language, ignorant masses build like the Blob with it.

I actually went through the same thing when I was growing up. I had no idea the moon was named Luna. I had heard of a Lunar orbit, but assumed it was just an orbit of a certain type, like geostationary orbit. Soooo I emailed someone at JPL and asked him. (This was very early internet days, no search engines yet.)

    His response was something like:
People refer to our moon as "the moon" largely because Luna just sounds funny. It'd inspire lines like
"Under the light of dear ole Luna, I love you like a can of tuna."

    "Where is Starbase 39-Sierra?"
    a) read the mission

"How come you guys didn't heal me?" - Cruiser captain from PvP

"How do I spend my skill points to hit VA?"
Seriously, it was on these forums somewhere.

more to come as I remember them
