It looks like the SyFy channel is going all out Star Trek, starting 1-9-11 through 1-14-11. The schedule includes both movies and TNG. It sure would be cool to see a new STO commercial. I often wounder if Cryptic has plans to do more STO T.V. ads.

I'd wager that we won't see a single ad for STO. Advertising a Star Trek game during a Star Trek marathon would be too logical.

Cool, if they advertise on syfy we could get the wrestling crowd in on the sto action.

The "Sci-Fi" channel has been TRIBBLE since about 8 years ago, when they got a new producer and decided that the fantasy genre is "close enough" to science fiction. They could do a Star Trek/Andromeda/Farscape/Stargate marathon all in a row, and I still wouldn't watch it.

I'm rolling a Stone Cold Steve Austin captain right now. USS Rattlesnake! And I'll mod the game to play the sound of glass shattering whenever I blow something up.

No, after season two when they cut the CGI and it just became a soap opera about the Cylon love lifes.

Isn't that part of the Mayan Doomsday prophecy? ( An alliance of Trek geeks and Wrestling fans )

Doomsday prophecies are ten-a-penny these days, not worth the paper they're printed on. That kind of alliance would be weird to behold though

It's more common than you might think. To be into wrestling more than the average hillbillies you see in the arenas, you kinda have to be a geek about it. "Inside baseball" and all that. Geekery begets further geekery.

I am a die-hard original BSG fan. This new TRIBBLE they try to call BSG doesn't deserve the name.

And for the record, I've watched it right up until they get to Earth. I haven't been able to stomach trying to watch any more of it.

During STO's launch, Syfy shown quite a bit of STO commericals. But not sure if Cryptic has the advertising budget to do it again.

    ^^This

    1) They changed the name to Syfy, which suggests they think their audience is a bunch of idiots who can't spell.

    2) They repeatedly cancel good shows too early for them to finish their stories. Yes they may have low ratings at times but this is mostly due to poor program scheduling.

    3) 90% of what they do play is horrid B movies, reruns, and wrestling. Wrestling is science fiction? fiction maybe but really now.

Sci-fi was cool for a while. But it has changed it's name to something stupid, and killed the last of it's good shows. So yah, SyFy is a now useless channel.

The Shatnator is awesome! I want him to wrestle Tasha now. After his shirt tore he could kiss her.

    Lets not forget This.

I too can't believe that I've never seen this. It's great, but Kaufman and Lawler had much more charisma as a duo.

That about sums it up for me. At times I think the parent company, NBC Universal, intentionally sabotages SyFy's line-up if, it threatens the ratings of it's other properties.

But then I've got issues with the whole media consolidation trend and FCC regulation that's been going on over the last decade.

The stupid name change was so they could have a name that was able to be trademarked...

Read the wikipedia entry for "Syfy" under 'Rebranding'

You mean you prefer the old BSG where they went down to a planet and had old west shootouts???? Where the Cylons were supposedly super powerful, and yet in combat could never even hit any of the fighters?

I watched the original BSG, and I guess I don't know what show you were watching... FWIW I'm not a fan of the new one either, but I'd watch paint dry over watching the original again.
