Enjoyed the game But.....

I had a blast and got a Fed toon all the way to VA and 2 Klingons to Commander since November. But I have to move on. You see none of my friends will play this game with me and I find it boring without my friends. So I reallly can't see paying for a game I am going to log on to only a few times a month. You all may see me again if the game goes F2P.

Choose your own path to fun and stop letting your friends dictate your life, or find new friends in STO.

Well the thing is these are my real life friends and we have been playing together since EQ1 came out. Like I said I had a lot of fun but I have more fun with my friends when I play. I wish there were some sort of other pay system besides subscription. If I could just buy hours or something like that it would work for me. I thought about the LT sub but I thoguht about the LT sub I have for CO and I remebered how much fun that was for the first 60 days and now I do not touch it. Plus 300 bucks at this time of year is a no-go.

No you can't have my stuff. I might be back one day. Besides I don't have any Ageis or Borg gear.

ah well, that sucks i guess. Sorry to see you go.

Me, i don't bother trying to play what my mates play, otherwise i'd still be playing WoW and only WoW and i'd never play another game for the rest of eternity. For me that'd be a living hell that no friendship is worth.

You don't have to give up your RL friends in order to make new, online friends.....

I thought I already did accept.

It may have been during a period of botanically induced memory loss though, so I will fix it if I didn't accept the first time.
Can one accept friend requests out of game? nvm-its done!

I don't understand why people are so against F2P. Look what it did for LotRO. Omg it's been great over there and the "noob" rush at the start was not bad at all!!

I like the people in LotRO and STO and it has a certain fan base unlike WoW. I know atleast 4 people that would come back to STO if it went F2P.

More people = good time and FUN!

Its two main things: many people are simply afraid of change. Many others have no idea how the hybrid F2P system works. Add those two together and you get alot of uninformed scared people.

I play DDO F2P and my freinds do too. Why? Because we can play when we want to and pay for what we want. I really like tha model. I have bought all the low level mods and they are open to me across all the servers. So I never have to pay for those again. All those cost about 30 bucks and since my wife also plays it means for a total of 60 bucks my wife and I have access to almost half the game content. But what is really cool is most of the game can be unlocked without spending money at all. I thought it was worth it to spend the money so I would not have to grind on rats for a long time.

I like the idea of paying for what I use. Most likely I will never buy the raid and high end content because I don't care about that stuff.

BTW my wife did try the trial of STO but she found the space combat fustrating and did not get very far. And I think she has some legitimate criticsums but it was not a game breaker for me like to was her.

I think Cryptic needs to look at the DDO?LotRs model and see how much money they can make off poeple like me who want to buy things Ala Carte
