season 3 Genisis, Where is it

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Genesis simply is life from lifelessness. At least that what they said in the Wraith of Khan so I ask what happened they advertised below as season 3

Introducing: The Foundry Beta
Have you ever wanted to design your own mission in Star Trek Online? Here's your chance! The Foundry for Star Trek Online will enter public beta when Season Three debuts. Using The Foundry, you can construct Episodes and share them with your friends. If you're not interested in designing missions, you'll still benefit from The Foundry: Player-created missions will be available to you to play and enjoy, right alongside the Episodes you know and love today.
The Foundry Beta for Star Trek Online is a living, breathing feature within the game, and we still need your feedback to make it as dynamic and engaging as possible. So be ready to let us know what you think!

Where is this it’s still on the Tribble not in the genesis patch

Episode Replay
Hop into the Holodeck! In Season Three, you'll be able to replay Episodes you've enjoyed previously. Some will even feature new, Episode-specific rewards! Nearly every mission in Star Trek Online is available for Replay.

Ok this went live on the Date and works so I can’t complain

New Special Task Force Loot
Admirals and Generals have been confronting the greatest threats to the Alpha Quadrant for some time. In Season Three, you'll be able to integrate Borg technology into your ships. This new loot from Special Task Force missions will greatly augment your ship's usefulness as well as its appearance. At your discretion, the new Borg-based items will appear on your ship. Whether it's a new weapon assembly or upgrade to your ship's engines, you'll be able to show off your crew's battlefield prowess.
Already like the look of your ship? Not to worry; displaying the effects is entirely optional. You'll still receive the bonuses these new items afford without compromising the look of your ship.

Only recently went live not with season 3 but they are very good and I’m happy with them

An All-New Sector Space
You asked for it. We listened. We've revamped Sector Space to give it a more realistic look and feel. We've reworked everything in favor of a much cleaner, minimalist experience. Space needs to look and feel big, and we've taken a step in that direction in Season Three.

Ok this went live on the Date but is still bugged to high hell i still hit the floor of space when I enter sector space

Crafting Update
We have added over 100 new craftable items, including Very Rare Mk XI gear! In addition, the Klingon Defense Force will enjoy complete access to crafting and anomaly gathering. Season Three will also feature new patrols in which Klingons gather data in a particularly ... aggressive fashion.

The crafting system seems to have high resource cost for items meaning a ton of grinding to get the required amount of Samples.
More Content For Everyone
We've got some great new features headed your way, too. Some new improvements include:
Klingon-Specific Updates: Access to Pi Canis, a 200-day Veteran Reward, crafting and more!
This went live and i haven’t tested it yet as my klingon isn’t strong enough to do the sorties yet
New Item Sets: New STF and crafting rewards.
Only recently went live but they are very good and I’m happy with them

over all i think that season 3 could have done with being released later to fix the bugs or advitised the Foundry as something coming out after season 3 not place the main enphasis on the foundry then only put it on the tribble , then have the transfer system bug so no one can move a character to the tribble to give user content a try, even thought saying that it won't help me level my klink throught the grind as any skill points earnt on tribble can't be transfered the other way.

The title of the threat may be a little misleading but i mean where is the content when it went live

thank you for putting up with this rant about season 3 i know you could be reading many other threads

Don't forget, each Season isn't a discrete moment in time. Season 3 isn't over yet - they'll be releasing parts of it for awhile yet. (Almost till season 4 starts probably)

Do we have any dev posts/vids saying Season 4 is coming in April?

    Seriously misleading thread title.

You have in red the part of Klingon content you can't even try. Your NOT HAPPY with crafting =/= crafting wasn't delivered on live. YOU have issues with sector space, most do not.

"Season 3 - What my opinion of it is" would be more accurate.

    You are correct about Foundry.

As others have stated, it is true that Season 3 lasts until Season 4. That said, the Season 3 page that Cryptic published on the first day it went live made it sound like the Foundry was on live and ready to be played, and made no mention of the fact that it was only on Tribble.

I don't know about anyone else, but I was under no false impressions about the foundry.
    BETA = In Testing.
The Foundry reached the Tribble server when Season 3 launched, as I expected it to happen after reading the above paragraph.

Clearly says in beta, and anyone that reads the boards knew way before that it was only going to tribble.

I would rather it be delivered in one patch, even if it was late in season 3. I often play while I am doing night shift using a mobile internet dongle, so do a few of my friends which has a bandwidth restriction, not to mention slower download speeds. If a patch goes live when we are using the dongle, we have to suffer slow download and a possible hefty bill due to exceeding the bandwidth. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say we would rather miss one night and download the patch as one update the next day on our landline broadband.

Before I start let me say this so Sekrit Agent doesn't report me, I am not making fun of anyone. John_pain has his opinion and I have mine. All I am doing is giving my review of the new update and a fellow lifers post with no malice intended.

Come on John_pain, read more carefully before you put up a rant :). You're only human, so mistakes are allowed. Me, I'm an android so I'm perfect.:D The Foundry was expected to be Beta only i.e. on the Tribble server only. Also, it's Genesis, not Genisis.

As for crafting, of course the more powerful the item, the more it will "cost" to craft it. That's to be expected. You can't expect to be able to craft a rare or very rare item with only 10 data samples. That just would not be right. Cryptic did the right thing by making us have to work for it. I could have even seen them ask for more data samples for the more powerful items.

The Klingon updates are really nice, but should they be in red like the ones with the so called problems just because your KDF character isn't ranked high enough to play them? No. A few bugs here and there, but that happens. The Eriksson System mission optional objectives could use a little work, only to make it so every ship type has a better chance to complete Path of the Warrior.

Now for Sector Space. What other bugs are there besides the "dropping to the floor" graphics? As for those, I look at it this way. They even added a nice "puff of dust" when your ship hits the bottom, so at least they went all the way with it. However if thats the only problem, I wouldn't say that it's "bugged to high he--".

So let us sum this one up. After going through what you wrote and what is real, we get the following results:
    1) The Foundry - is doing exactly what they said it would do and is exactly where they said it would be. No Problem.

    2) Episode Replay - No Problem

    3) STF loot - a couple of days late, but it is really sweet. So - not a big deal.

    4) Sector Space - so far only one bug, but they gave us a nice cloud of dust when it hits bottom. Bugs happen, but at least they gave us the final effect with it. They get credit for that because they gave the bug the full detail.

    5) Crafting - you think it costs too much data samples to do. Actually they could have charged more. Lets be honest, they said it was coming and it is out on time. No problem.

    6) Klingon new missions - a few bugs, but all in all very enjoyable. Bugs happen.

So all in all I think that they did a great job with it. Season 3 is a success in my opinion.

Somehow I suspect you are in the minority here. I for one would hate to have to wait for bug fixes and new content because another planned piece of content isn't ready yet. We (almost) always know in advance when the patches are going to be added to Holodeck, especially the big ones, and the sever is down for the updates anyway, so if you are worried about the download speed when you aren't home I'd tentatively suggest you just wait to download the patch until it isn't an issue.

It didn't go live on the same day as Season3 started because they had to balance STF Borg and Aegis set and test them. The tests on Tribble found some bugs and balance issues so they got delayed until they where fine. I prefer it that way than to have a repeat of Season 2.

What did you expect in an MMO? One anomaly/sample = One item?
Crafting in STO is ridiculously easy compared to almost every other MMO out there. You are lucky they haven't implemented a true crafting system that in some cases requires you to farm for months and have a chance to fail your craft with the loss of your materials.

I'd agree with you, if it had said "Live" I would assume it meant holodeck, but I don't see the word "Live" on the Season 3 description. I see "Beta" splashed around a lot, and to me that means Tribble.

i'll admite to having listened to Stalh say live in a interveiw and assuming that mean at season 3 start.

As for the crafting system it may be easier than some MMO's but the amount of VR particals you would need to spec out your ship, self and away team every level would take a level and a half if not more to farm. or am i just really unlucky as i have never failed one of the mini games but still have only found 2 VR particals on my science officer over the 2 ranks she's passed so far she's LT CM 7 atm and over the time i have farmed Particals to find only 2 VR in 2 ranks thats 18 levels give or take. so it's seems to be taking a long time for me to find the VR particals needed to make some of the gear atm i couldn't even make one purple item

False. Season 3 lasts until Season 4, and the Foundry WILL be on holodeck before Season 4. Their thinking about doing it this month.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

    We're mixing up words here:
    • Some of us say Season 3 and strictly mean the December release date.
    • Others of us say Season 3 and mean the time from December to the Season 4 Update.

We are operating on different definitions of the term "Season 3." If we can't agree on definitions, we certainly won't agree about the details following those definitions.

So, let's just relax and let our mind float downstream.... :p

There is no real mincing going on. You don't watch episode 1 of season 3 of a T.V. show and consider the season over. Every episode past e1s3 is "season 3" until the finale. It's not hard to understand. This IP is even based of TV to start with.

I don't call that mincing, I call that misunderstanding. The Grand Nagus was right in his last post, sorry no Diplomatic XP for forum posts.....

Ok, allow me to clarify. I mean he said it would not be released with the initial season three release. There, is that better?
