Since there's so many ideas I want to write down, I can't really list everything I wish for in detail. So I just compiled a video with a bunch of random ideas that would help illustrate some ideas and improvements for the game. ^_^ (Most of it is for the eye-candy hehe) The reason why I made this video is to publicize some of the great ideas some of our fellow STO players have brought up. Feel free to add some of your own ideas here as well! =D

    I want to see a Romulan Player Faction. (Good luck with that!)

    Otherwise I want a shiny new TR-116 at the C-Store.

    -Elaborate open PVP sectors + outcomes based on player battles.

    -Raids that involve more than a cap of five people.

    -I'm stick of beaming off my own bridge to return to "tactical view". (this was fixed for awhile, and then..)

    -Crafting needs to be harder, chances to fail and lose resources and so forth.

    -Would be nice to have to stock up on things at player hubs besides hypo's and the like, MAKE TORPEDOES FINITE!! Stock up on torpedoes and other things!

    -More player interaction.

    -Less carebear, more game!

    -Junior grade LT? More time at Ensign, make the game harder to level.

    Did someone say video??? Sweet action. Reading the same old stuff is for chumps. I really enjoyed your vid, tho you could probably remove the Enterprise J. And add 7 of 9. ;)

    For this year I would like:
    • Romulans being definitely added with new territories. One profession being infiltrator that can pose players as Federation players.
    • Exploration sectors being dumped for real exploration. Meaning you actually stumbling on new worlds to discover and not have it being some pre-programmed mission like the current exploration zones.
    • DSE's being dumped for something that reflects the war better.
    • "Neutral Zone" / Warfare Sectors being added on the Federation / Romulan, Romulan / Klingon, and Klingon / Federation fronts. Where Warfare (PvE and PvP) missions actually take place.
    • Territoral PvP, where players can win / lose territory and it reflects on the community as a whole.
    • "Balanced PvP"
    • Trader / Privateer and Business men professions. (For the Ferengi in you).
    • Revamped Bridges (That isn't football fields).
    • Cannonical Bridges being added (that isn't football fields).
    • Interiors revised to actually feel like the starship you are in. (The Defiant isn't built for luxury by any standard).

    I would like to say, Star Trek Online has come along way since its launch and I can see it going even further. Love the new look of Sector Space and the introduction of weekly episodes, makes it feel more like Star Trek.

    What i would like to see added:

    1) Bridge Packs: I would see bridge packs added for like the Sov., Luna, Nebula, Akira and Excel. to name a few.

    2) Ship Interiors: Interiors to be more cannon and to be layed out according to ship blueprints. Also to have more areas added, Armory to store weapons and gear, Shuttle bay to house the runabout, Conference room so players can discuss missions, Holodeck to practice tactics or just explore.

    3) Missions: More Fleet vs Fleet missions. Start STF missions back up with the option to be able to plan out how to do the mission with other players (ex: instead of having a 5 ship/ 5 man away team, have like a 2 ship/ 3 man away team or even a 1 ship/ 4 man away team so there can be a space and ground part at the same time, just a thought). Weekly epsiodes that not only take place in sector space but always on the ship and/or in the exploration sectors. Also add more Klingon PvE missions.

    4) Locations: Earth, enough said. Glad to have the Space dock, but its time to beam down and check out Starfleet HQ and the Academy. I already they making plans to do the Gamma Quadrant, I also would like to plans to revisit the Delta Quadrant as well.

    5) Factions: The next Factions I would like seen added is the Romulans along with their own missions.

    6) Space: I would like to see more Sectors added, expecially for the Klingons.

    7) Voice Chat is a must now, especially when you are taking fire from an enemy and you want to coordinate your attackm not going to have time to type out want you need done.

    I'll added more when it pops up in my mind.

    1) The ability to change ships in sector space (since they could be flying with you)
    2) The ability to Save settings of you ship for different things (PVP or PVE Console/Weapons, BO, Ability, button layout)
    3) All characters of the same faction have the same Bank
    4) Bind on equip is for account
    5) The ability to upgrade all previous ships to T5+
    6) Crafting to have the ability to upgrade a ship ONCE (extra power or BO slot or Console slot)
    And this is the big MOST IMPORTANT one....
    7) To not blow up all the ships you defeat unless you want to.
    I would like to salvage/disable/loot a ship

    Summary: Some of these ideas date back to March and April but still apply to a large degree. Most were collaborative and incorporated feedback from forum users on how to improve. While many of them share core gameplay mechanics (such as opt-in territory control, they also have unique flavors. Some are more diplomacy/strategy focused and others are more PvP focused.

    My only wish for 2011 is for Cryptic to hire Darren and let him implement all his ideas.

    1. Territory Control- Ground and Space systems to control in a PVP sector.
    2. Pirate or Mercenary faction- Real bad guys not out for their Empires or Alliance just out for themselves. A completely different feel to STO.
    3. More PVP mini games- A ground map for use with bridge officers. A boarding party PVP mini game.
    4. More Fleet actions- Restrictions removed so all tiers can work together. Also make 20 player groups in fleet actions.
    5. STF difficulty slider- for solo PUG and current difficulty setting.
    6. Command Fleets- Promote bridges officers to Captain and asign them to your lower level ships.
    7. Play as your bridge officers- So you can lead away missions as your first officer or security chief.

    1. An open PvP sector (or sectors) that plays like, for lack of a better term, the Frontiers from DAoC, complete with capture-and-hold locations that give bonuses to our respective PvE sectors, etc.

    2. Caitian Bridge Officers. Fully customizable, male and female, all classes, easily obtainable via in-game officer requisition, C-Store, and missions (and mission replays).

    3. Hair tech for Caitian manes, (Captains and Bridge Officers, male and female).

    4. Ability to place my Bridge Officers on my Bridge and throughout my ship, wherever I want them to sit/stand, and a set of preset emotes they do while there.

    5. Ability to designate a uniform for all male/female crew members, each class, so that all the NPC's on my ship, and my security detail that beams down, will at least have uniforms that match the style of myself and my Bridge Officers.

    6. Top tier Efficient Impulse Engines.

    7. Ability to do Task Force mission content with a pre-set number of people (Fleet only, invite only, etc).

    I hate 3rd Person view. Half-Life style play is far more immersive.

    1. More Klingons ships and character skins through all Tiers
    2. Decent PvP, not only for PVP players
    3. Decent war setting. There is currently no War going on between the Feds & the Klingons
    4. More Klingon only content

    I wish they'd continue the weekly series and let us know when they start working again. It's been awful quiet, and I was rather disappointed there was no fun holiday content. They put up a sale and took the month off. I'm sure employees manned the watch, but its been too quiet and I was really hoping they were biting their tongues on a surprise for the new year. Guess not.

    Not to say they shouldn't have any time off; only I had hoped there was something up their sleeves and its disappointing that there wasn't. The future is all well and good, but like Cryptic, I went ahead and took a few weeks off from the game.

    They have been working ragged all year. This is the first two weeks of quiet since release. They are enjoying some family time and are starting to come back today.
    Before then, the guy who updates the calendar and engineering reports was badly sick for two weeks.
    I am glad they where quiet for the holidays and would be quite distressed to hear they didn't spend any time with thier family.
    The weekly series starts this month.

    This is an amazing thread, and the video is amazing. The devs would be remiss not to watch this video and comment on this blog.

    I want to see most of the stuff on the wishlist in the game, especially Starfleet HQ, new bridge packs, improved ship interiors, better locales, and iconic characters like Data.

    For more missions along the line of the Klingons "Bringing down the House", Paris as the place of the Federation President would also be a great thing to see.

    Searching for infiltrators, preventing assassinations/takeovers of important government officials seeking evidence to end a diplomatic crisis...
    Imagine you start out on Earth at Starfleet HQ with a briefing then head out into space to ssek the evidence you're looking for and then end up in the heart of Federation government preventing a war with yet another power.;)

    Argo and Phase Tanks would be cool! would be so HALO...
    Mass Effect has a tank so why not Trek?

    And i just watched 4 seasons of ENTERPRISE... yeah Vulcan and Andoria need a complete makeover.

    Andoria has underground cities, they use the thermal energy etc. kinda like the Ocampa.

    Vulcan isn't only rocks, desert, monks and mount seleya, they have Cities with Skyscrapers, i want to visit the High Council.
    And yet Vulcan is one of the better Worlds.

    It's just... in Star Wars you allways have all those big cities and in Star Trek you allways feel like on a small Set with paper Rocks. That was TOS, it is not like that anymore in the later Series.

    My wishlist:
    > Better interiors, to scale (ish)
    > More variety in missions, meaning I can level without having to do mission A and do B instead, or both, should I choose.
    > More ship variety, especially towards the middle (T3)
    > Better ship system, I.E. only two ships issued after the ensign/lt. freebee, at Lt Cmd and Captain.
    > Introduction of ship components system, similar to my idea
    > Introduction of senior crew positions (mentioned for season 4/5)
    > Expansion of playable space area. Space is supposed to be VAST!
    > More missions/episodes ala the TV series

    Yes, but not as many. And I want the Ship Status Screen to be like the enterprise panel you see on the back of engineering on TNG. Of course each ship having their own schematic. And place the engines where the engines go on the ship, etc.

    As for my other wishes:
    I'd like to see GPL used more (I'm sure that is in the works)
    The holoemiters 'bind on equip'
    I would like 'Chance of failure' on crafting. Current crafting seems to easy to get highend equipment. (My own wish would be the crafting system used in Earth & Beyond, but that would be a total revamp of drops, and the system)
    The ability to enter any system even if it is transporting to an empty planet. The Free Roaming Idea.
