Fix Exploration

Right now, there's no reason for me to do any combat oriented exploration. The moment I fire a phaser, I lose any chance at Diplomatic XP. Combat missions take 10 times as long as a non-combat mission. Combat missions give me no extra reward over non-combat missions.

On top of this, I get ambassador Jiro sending me halfway across the galaxy for a diplomatic investigation, and halfway through it, Hirogen beam in! Goodbye Diplo XP, on a mission that is supposed to be GUARANTEED diplo XP.

Also, why is it that scanning data samples in the middle of an asteroid field in the middle of nowhere gives me Diplo XP, but saving an entire race from being wiped out by the Borg doesn't? Logic, anyone?

Erm, when did it change that diplomacy missions grant 0 diploxp if you fire a weapon?

There are few missions that do grant diploxp that have combat in them, but I do distinctly remember them (the investigate ships+combat one comes to mind). The award of DiploXP comes from the mission itself, not your activity during it.

Although, I do agree if you started opening fire on your guests during a first contact you prolly shouldn't get diploxp.

From the sound of things, you're goaling towards DiploXP, which is great, but it's really only just part of the game. I personally suggest taking the missions as they fall for you and not really goaling too heavily for one or the other [although I certainly understand wanting the other Transwarps while leveling :)].

That said, the Diplo Investigation mission shouldn't have combat in them near as I am aware, sure you using the side bar diplo mission or are you just following going through Explore System? It may be possible for it to pull a DiploXP mission with combat, but I haven't seen it, but it should still give you diploxp.

The 5 scan missions also shouldn't be giving you diplomacy xp, they are just really easy.

Thanks for the advice.. .but I'm already a vice admiral with every possible piece of equipment in the game(save PvP stuff). All I want is my Starfleet Dress Uniform(which for some reason Cryptic seems to think is an ambassador uniform....).

Hoepfully, we'll get an extensive exploration revamp for season 4. The game really, really needs it.
