This is nothing new, the idea is old, its in many games.. but this game.. where ground and space require dedication from the talent tree you provide us with 1 talent spec. In addition once you run out of respec tokens.. the amount of resources it takes to do it with in game credits is entirely to difficult.. Whats the other option? Charge us through the C store... Common cryptic.. this isent hard to do.. Just impliment it please... show your loyal customers you care and add a dual spec while decreasing the amount required to respec..
You wouldn't decide to go to MIT for a degree in computer engineering and technology, and 3 years later when you graduate, cry a month later you don't like it and wished you were trained in carpentry and woodworking.
Want to learn carpentry and woodworking? Get ready for another term in University.
You're not getting those 3 years refunded, and there are no computers that I know of made of wood to combine being trained in both fields.
I would rather keep it where there is a cost/consequence to clicking [Accept].
Don't like your choice of training? You should have been more careful in your choices. Now it will cost you to change them. Either in play time earning Merits or if you're impatient and want it NOW NOW NOW, you can pay real money. The choice is yours. And you made one.
Want versatility? Make a new character and follow another path of career or training.

This is some seriously crazy stuff right here. As if anyone sane would ever(or should ever be forced to) devote the time and attention it takes to choose and train for a career to a video game.
Infinite free respecs is not the same as asking for a valid way to respec without having to pay real money for it. Even World of Warcraft provides an easy way to respec...and it is virtually free even considering the in game currency.
You know I just had to add one other thing. As the OP mentioned, there are two DISTINCT(and they are really distinct let's face it) "games" WITHIN this game, each which has to be learned and experimented with to understand how it works and how you want to play it(unless you just go the easy route and copypasta something from the forums).
Beyond THAT, this game actually has a variety of interactions between the "talent" systems and the game which make it more complicated than the average MMO. There are so many ways your team can interact with and influence your playstyle, not to mention trying to figure out how to distribute your characters points so you don't gimp yourself at cap...
Seriously you cannot argue sanely for a system in which real money is EVER required to respec in this game, it is just unfair and total nonsense.

Apparently the ending about a wooden computer wasn't enough to belay the jest. however, the seriors peice below stands.
WoW is not STO. STO is not WoW
STO isn't lacking tanks because all the Warriors are DPS and Pali's are heals.

What the OP either ignored or doesn't know is you don't have to pay Cryptic anything. Not a single penny. Not a strip of latinum. Not a solitary quatlu.
It's an option
You earn Merits by playing the game. The whole purpose for a game, playing it. These can be used for training Bridge Officers. Renaming Bridge Officers and ships. And, yes, even respecing your characters skills.
Cryptic is not milking anyone. Those who chose the option of buying a Captain retraining token do so if their own free will. Whether because they made a mistake and didn't have enough Merits to fix it right away, didn't know you can buy respecs with in game currency or are simply just impatient.
As for there being two games in one, yes! That's the whole point. What do you want to be?
Do you wish to be a captain that is proficient in space, helping assist or lead the charge of his/her fleet in a fight? But are more there for heal or fire support on the ground?
Do you wish to be a captain that is proficient on the ground, helping heal, support or lead his/her squad through danger? But are more there for heal or fire support in space?
Do you wish to be a captain who is good both in space and on ground, and can easily adapt your roll on the fly, but prefer to rely on others for help as much as they do you?
You want to be the best proficient captain in space, but suddenly a ground mission comes up and you want to be the most proficient captain on the ground. So.. you want a 'make magic happen' button like WoW...
I'm a DPS! NO! I'm a TANK! NO!! I'm a DP..TANKS!!
May as well just demand Cryptic add 24,000 more skill points so you can max out your career and captain training and forgo the respec button completey. Then everyone can be everyhting and no one can be proud of what they've chosen and how they've made it work since everyone will be the same on demand.
Very well said indeed Chiberry and i couldn't agree with you more.
I find STO a very overwhelming game to understand at first. There is simply a lot to take in without it ever saying a lot. Yet the answers to most of your problems is out there, but as usual, just like the OP, we moan and assume to much and generally get the wrong end of the stick. STOwiki, STOked, even a little time alone with these forums and the information starts to show itself. Those were just a few sites that have really helped my gameplay and knowledge of a game that i adore and prefer to know as much as possible.
I find STO very deep in its nature, i like the fact that unlike Wow that i played for over 5 years, there is no true spec for your role. Of course there are always the best traits over others for certain situations, but its not a 51/5/17 or something along those lines. I was a Holy Paladin during this time and believe me, save for 3 or 4 points, to succeed in high level raids, the difference in spec layout was pretty much the same across the board. I understand for Cataclysm there has been a slight refinement to that model, yet the difference is not as great as i would still have liked.
When i began playing STO, i was pretty scared of doing anything wrong. I had a few thousand merits when i realised it cost 1500 just to rename a Boff, which made me think, 'get it right first time or you're going to have to pay out big in the long term'. Yet i am Captain 8 now, with nearly 30k Merits, and i've spent quite a great deal too on Boff Skills and the like. The more you read up on the game, the better it will be for you in the end. I've respec'd once, saving each and every one from leveling up for later on down the line, for that just in case moment. There is no excuse for really using these free respec's every time you level, because until you get to a certain point, the likelihood that these will have any kind of additional and positive reaction is slim at best.
But yet again we come across Cryptic as the greedy money makers that so many believe them to be. Its an MMO. MMO's requires investment, yet some, just like many games i am seeing on the Xbox, allow you to use real money for instant unlocks. Look at Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Split/Second as quick suggestions. You can buy and instantly unlock all weapons, upgrades, cars, modes, etc or you can simply put in the time and unlock them yourself. The option is catered for both. Understand that.
Since Chiberry isn't really getting any love here I feel I should add a supportive argument. I've been playing the same character for about seven months, just hit RA, Upper Half 2 today. Yeah, I play kind of slow.
Today even, I was asked, "Why are you a tac in a assault cruiser?"
I've managed to play this long without ever second guessing my progression. I don't know how everything works, but I understand how -my- character and -my- ship, and -my- BO's do. I'm play because I like it, not because it's an ultimate build or it needs make sense to other people. With that being said:
This idea of respecing came from other MMO's(WoW anyone?). I never played another game that offered such an absurd option, so to me its a surprising feature. So let's just make it so you can max out every skill, that way you don't even have to care. Better even, let's remove the classes, skills and equipment so there isn't any diversity. You'll never have to worry about picking or changing anything!
Right, because it would suck. You are absorbed with tweaking to perfection. You may find it fun, and that's alright. But the fact remains, there's no reason the game even has to have a Respec function. That it does, and that you can do it for free at each level and in addition using merits, is representative of a concession to that cause. There's only sides in this argument: people who never paid for a respec, and people who a)don't want to or b)already have and want another. Really? You used SIX respects AND all your merits? How many of those did you 'rebuild', how many times did you start and then change your mind because the changes would've been superficial?
I have 80,000 merits and 19,000 BO skill points, I've also got another four respec tokens and an emblem for a new ship I don't care about. So I'm going to play devil's advocate, that way it isn't just a defense, its a counter argument.
Cryptic, remove the respec system altogether. We're supposed to pride ourselves on our achievements, work together to compliment each other's weaknesses and be rewarded for our choices. The respec system encourages insecurity towards invested skills in, encourages bitterness in teamwork situations and causes arguments about its validity, freedom and purpose. Such a tool is clearly not in the best interest of the community and I submit it be removed until such a way can be found that it will no longer be abused. To quote a single fleet, "In order to remain in the fleet you must be using one of the approved builds. Check with the fleet master for which of the builds below we are currently accepting. Compliance is mandatory."
This idiotic statement perfectly illustrates my point. If it encourages people to think they know the proper way to play the game based on numbers, it is no longer acceptable. The respec system encourages this kind of behavior and should be removed.
The game already forces us into respecs. You want to be good at flying your current ship? Well, these skill points devalue the moment you are switching to the next ship once you level up. Heck, if you have the idea of changing the ship class, suddenly all those skill points are uselessy spent even. There is a new ship on C-Store? You need a new skill! People that would like to try the new Gurumba Siege Destroyer are basically forced to respec, too. The skill for the Gurumba is only useful if you have that ship, if you don't, it's dead weight.
At the same time, the skill system forces us to choose between ground and space skills. This leads to many people specialisizing on one area - ground or space and avoiding content in the area they don't like - which can mean weekly episodes, storyline episodes, and warping out of exploration missions you don't care for. The choice between ground and space skills doesn't really care a fair trade-off.
Dual Spec can solve all these issues. You can spec for ground combat in one, space combat in the other. You can spec into two different ships. Use it however you like. There isn't even a need to rework the entire skill system (I would prefer if there were more ground skills and ground and space skills were kept seperate.)
---
All that said; I wouldn't necessarily combine an argumentation about the necessity of dual spec with accusations of greed.
Well I do not think that any other respec otion is necessary now. You get 7 tokkens during leveling; i'playing since beta and have not used more then 2 on each char.
You can TEST skill sets on Tribel.. What more do you want, randomly change the skilling whenever you want? If you want to play with two entirely diffrent set: make a new character, you level fast enough.
However, one mentionet thing I do not like is the fact that Ground Skills and Space skills use the same skillpoints. That always causes the decision between beeing a better Spaceship captain (wich is the "fun" part of the game and more important in pvp, at last if you avoid ground pvp like I and the most do) and pi*s off the whole group in STFs OR you are a good on ground but miss the skills in space (again, in pvp I need every point^^), or the "middle way" the most go, where they are not SO good in both.
In my opinion the Skill system should be reworked to have completly diffrent "kinds" of Skillpoints for Ground and Space.
But anyway, there are a lot of things I do not like about the current skill system..... may be it should be reworked all over^^
In my opinion the Skill system should be reworked to have completly diffrent "kinds" of Skillpoints for Ground and Space.
I would prefer this route in the ideal world, but I imagine it could cause a lot of problems with existing characters - and we don't even know how to really implement a character advanacement system split between ground and space skill. It works for Crafting and Diplomacy, since they have their own advancements and "ranks". But the skill system decides your Captain's rank in the KDF or Starfleet, if you split ground and space, how do you decide this rank? The highest of both? The sum of both? The average of both? Do you get a ground and a space rank? And how do you gain ground skill points and how do you gain space skill points?
Dual Spec can allow us to circumvent this discussion. Just let us decide whether we have a ground and a space spec, or, say a Star Cruiser and a Fleet Escort spec.
It is not ideal, though. Currently, the ground skill tree is way too short. If you really focus everything you got into it, you could probably be maxed in everything at RA 5 or so. So maybe we can' get by the idea that the ground skills must be expanded first.
Apparently the ending about a wooden computer wasn't enough to belay the jest. however, the seriors peice below stands.

WTF are you a GM or something? I mean.. your points may be valid in your own little world.. but you are the MINORITY, get over it....
GUY, you should be able to CHOOSE what you want to do on the fly without serious consequences. This is a game and should be fun, stop assuming that once you make a descision at the birth of a toon you should stick with it foreva... that aside. Not one player I know has a ground focused spec... everyone is space focused.. making the ground talent virtually useless... not an option.. no one balances them.. they just dont use them, and if you say you do, rest assured you wont have a toon to be pround of as you would simply be under average in either ground or space combat...
Stop throwing your overly un-flexible opinion around this post... Truth is you are the MINORITY, and if cryptic wants to please the MAJORITY they will impliment it and reduce respec costs...
And finally obviously this isent WoW, but there is NOTHING wrong with taking a page from the MOST successful MMO of all time, and will probly hold that title for a LONG time...
So just stfu guy... you need to take a breath and look at things from multiple angles.. not just your narrow minded point of view... I have ALWAYS been happy with my specs, I rarely want/need a respec, doesent mean the option shouldent be there... in addition I do like being the best I can be at everything.. and with the current system im a mediocure ground player and it sucks that I will NEVER experience being great in ground combat... my choice it may be, but really, unless I want to start paying cash soon I get to live with it.
wow your a ****ing idiot.... This isent RL, this isent college, this is a GAME and would be more fun to be in space with a space spec and hit the ground and change to a ground spec... there will always be consequences for your spec but it shouldent be a method to drink loyal customers dry nut sack..
Such a lovely bunch of people who are so quick to name call, and in such a poetic and polite manner at that. The same people who simply believe that Cryptic are out to bleed them dry.
Its already been said over and over again in this thread, and many others i might add. You don't need to pay real money for respecs, you can simply use the in-game currency that is obtained in-game (and no, not Cryptic Points, actual in-game currencies). Its an MMO. MMO's are all about investing time into a character. If you want immediate this and that, then MMO's really are not for you. I've used one respec so far, and likely i will adjust again at Admiral. That should leave me with five left, and even after those are all gone, i'll have plenty of Merits and the like to never consider using real money to chop and change my stats. Before venturing into respeccing, try a talent calculator. Use a little thought in what you want before clicking away and maybe there wouldn't be a need for these type of threads and your '****ing idiot' name calling jibes. There are better ways of going about addressing a reply, and yours clearly to Calibers wasn't one of them.
Very well said indeed Chiberry and i couldn't agree with you more.

If for anything just experimentation puproses.
If it were up to me instead of charging or making specs so 1 sided I would make it like Diablo 2, 1 spec, no going back, no respecs, do it right the first time... Thats a better option to me then charging real cash... seems so desperate to me... But if you will have the ability to change your spec at all you should be able to make a couple specs to accomidate your needs, be it ground or space
Such a lovely bunch of people who are so quick to name call, and in such a poetic and polite manner at that. The same people who simply believe that Cryptic are out to bleed them dry.

Im a soldier IRL, get over it, cursing is part of every sentence for me, listen to the messege not the ways its conveyed. When you kill people for a living you could give a **** about words..
lol and whats with all these people lower then VA or LG putting in there "two cents"? get to the end, be there a few months and then comment here..
I didnt respec once untill I was VA or LG for a few weeks then started changing things up

see... completely valid points.. but its like all these people just skim over these facts as if there not there simply to proove there point of view...
Here is another option.. scrap the current talent tree, create two trees (one for space and one for ground) both with a certain amount of points. That way people dont need to dodge one form of combat entirely, they are able to spec into both with consequences and benefits...
Im a soldier IRL, get over it, cursing is part of every sentence for me, listen to the messege not the ways its conveyed. When you kill people for a living you could give a **** about words..
Then if it matters that little, i guess i'm over it. You sir, are clearly an idiot.
I actually feel a somewhat better for that too. Interesting. So, cursing is part of every sentence for you. The Oxford Dictionary must be wondering what it ever did wrong. And you kill people for a living? Nice job, i didn't realise that was what being a soldier was all about. You make our armed services very proud indeed.
And i did listen to your message, yet all i got was moaning about buying something that you DON'T have to buy. Play the game, invest some time in your character and that way you shouldn't have anything to ever worry about.
And going back to your other reply. It matters not what my current rank is. By using a Talent Calculator, i've already tested how things should look later on. Your better option of a one time only, no mistakes spec sounds terrible. Its going from one extreme to the other. Those who don't respec every five minutes and instead spend those five minutes assigning points on a Calculator seem to not have these problems. Its another minority crying out for change because they can't have it their way or the simple fact is they don't use the FREE resources available to them that are provided by the community.

Well said Green, Calibers, not sure how to respond to your posts except wow, pretty sad
Mustrum, I usually agree with your posts but not here, I have agree with Green. I think the way they have it is the way it should be, its all about choices. I am spec'd fully into space at VA and I have zero points put into ground yet I am able to complete all the STF's and missions in game, it might take me a few minutes longer on ground but thats the price one pays when spec'd that way. When the space part of the mission comes up well that time is made up because of how I spec'd into space. To me its a fair tradeoff considering more of the gameplay I enjoy is space.
Then if it matters that little, i guess i'm over it. You sir, are clearly an idiot.

ha ha ha.. glad that made you feel better, the irony.. you call me an idiot for cursing then curse at me yourself... sadly I am sure I am far more ejumacated then you, I just dont let the inner nerd out to much, in my line of work you actually need to be a bit tough... And yes I am proud... I spent 3 years in Iraq as a scout.. hunter killer teams? those things.. Yea, most parts of the military involve grabbing your balls and shooting the enemy so kids like you can get on the internet and say stuff you wouldent dare say to my face lawl. That aside.. to business!
Got it.. talent calculator blah blah.. ever use polaron? disruptor? phaser? tetryon? Anti proton? ever see what your toon can do with a maxed ground talent tree? Do you know what talents assist things like TSS3? Or the other dozen skills that serve for primary attacks? Obviously not since you dont respec, so how do you know what you use works best for you? Cause the forums said so? The talent calculator told you? Good job, your obviously an A player... lawl... Games like this revolve around making every little adjustment to get the max out of your toon... assuming you want to be the best. That aside there is not all that much to do in STO so experimentation is part of what keeps the game interesting..
I aspire to be the best, and there is more then one way to do that, but one thing is for sure, no one gets it the first time... You might THINK you know everything.. but the time will come when you realized you didnt get a talent that assists a primary skill or something to that effect.
Yes one extreme to the other is true, might sound wierd, I just think that if respecing is allowed it should not cost money. That or make it not allowed at all...
Back to ONE of my points... there is no reason for cryptic to charge for **** like this.. its desperate, and getting worse with things like the Guramba being 25 bucks...
I feel like im talking to brick wall because anyone that has been at cap for longer then a couple months knows what this this post is refering to, leveling isent hard, doesent take long at all. So the fact that you are NOT at the level cap yet or recently achieved it shows that you haveno aspirations or determination to be the best, so you have no frame of reference to continue within this forum thread... I didnt realize how annoying the lack of a dual-spec was until just a few months ago, and I had a VA since a week after launch.
Sooo have a nice day so far you have sure made mine!
Hey, here is an idea, spend more time playing then typing, sound good? Great!
Well said Green, Calibers, not sure how to respond to your posts except wow, pretty sad
Mustrum, I usually agree with your posts but not here, I have agree with Green, I think the way they have it is the way it should be, its all about choices.
Makes scense, like stated earlier, I dont know anyone specced into ground, not wondering why, just seems foolish to have 2 different games wthin STO, one obviously favored but providing talents for both on one tree. no point in having ground combat talents really.... and that makes me a sad, want to see it be useful. At this point they are not
Best thing I can say is its not like WoW dual spec in WoW lets you be both a DPS/Healer, Im not a tac looking to be a sci, WoW is one game, ground combat.. this is 2 games, space and ground, the talents should reflect that imo.
ha ha ha.. glad that made you feel better, the irony.. you call me an idiot for cursing then curse at me yourself... sadly I am sure I am far more ejumacated then you, I just dont let the inner nerd out to much, in my line of work you actually need to be a bit tough...

Hey, here is an idea, spend more time playing then typing, sound good? Great!
So its taken me 2 months to get to where i am due to zero aspirations and no determination, and the fact i spend far too much time typing as opposed to playing...And this has nothing at all to do with my current Degree which i am studying at the moment, nothing what so ever. You see, i have priorities, and its really been this Christmas break where my time in STO play time has increased. I study hard and when these holidays appear, i play hard, yet 24/7 gaming is something i left behind with Wow. But i get it, your a soldier, you kill people and then play STO the rest of the time when you are not killing people. If only i thought about this avenue before i began my Degree, i could have been an Admiral and suddenly realised the lack of importance with Talent Calculators, before joining forces and creating threads where we moan together across the galaxy.
And I don't care about the Guramba. Either buy it or don't, there isn't much to it other than that. I haven't brought it, and i don't think i ever will, regardless if it looks great and all. If others follow suit, maybe prices will be lowered in the future. Though i wouldn't say its any where near as desperate as the amount of threads and posts that keep following up, generally created by people sharing the same mentality of high tiered moaning.
You do truly love your assumptions of others with your A-Grade player remarks. So i read a little, i'm sorry that offends you, but when i do something, i will always try and do my best, especially when its something i do love and enjoy, i.e. STO and my Degree.
And thanks for defending our countries from...what is it you are doing again? Thats right, so kids like me can use the internet. And heres me thinking my Firewall was doing the trick. Let me know if you ever find any WMD's out there...
The game already forces us into respecs. You want to be good at flying your current ship? Well, these skill points devalue the moment you are switching to the next ship once you level up.
False, some % of those skills carries over to the next tier ship of the same class.
As for respecing costing to many merits, get over it. The game is easy enough as it is, go and do some missions or something to gather some merits and if you just want to experiment then copy your character to Tribble and experiment all you want. The free respecs you get through normal leveling should be more than enough for most people.
Oh and the current skill tree does indeed allow us to spec into space, ground or both.
Spec into:
Space = good in space, not so good on ground
Ground = good on ground, not so good in space
Both = almost equally good in space and ground depending on your build
If you want to play a MMO that is easier than STO then good luck finding one because it will be a hard task to do, so please don't ask Cryptic to make this game even easier than it already is...

Personally I think "WOW" is a kids game, played it for 3 days and never looked back, never felt I was missing it. Honestlly didn't think it took that much thought simply button mashing to acheive the end. Here if you don't push the right button at the right time "boom" you are dead. Heh maybe the reason its so popular is because its so simplified anyone can play it. I personally like more of a challenge.
Ground Missions at the moment in STO is lets say "pittiful", why would I want to put points into something that does not play well ?
Ground PVP atm is a joke and thats being generous....people play it but sadly not many.
Space PVP on the other hand is quite enjoyable to me and add in teamwork and you can expect even more enjoyment. That said I wish they had more PVP in game, different maps, different gametypes. I think it would add even more enjoyment and just might move more of the non-pvpers to actually start pvping.

hey man, you started it, i finished it... rest assured I decided to serve my country after I finished an AS.
Yea.. I made an assumption based off what u said, and it was right. Your priority is school (as it should be) but dont run around the forums making comments about things you frankly know nothing about. I was in school full time getting my BA while still on active duty and managed to get to VA in a couple weeks... yes, its that easy.. By a grade player I just mean someone more then casual, someone who does research in how to create there toon, and perfects it as best he can. This should never end.
And really, are you trying to belittle my proffession.. there is a reason why 1% of this nations population has ever worn a uniform. Because we did what other people cant bring them selves to do... I'm done going back, you'll see me relaxing with my wife in the bahamas once this winter ends. Have a nice life, good luck with your schooling.

Id agree for the most part.. I guess dual spec (or restructuring talents) would be a step in the direction of making ground more fun.. Unfortunate ground stinks but would be nice to have a spec to specialize in ground.. if not for any other reason then to make it end faster...
As far as wow.. um.. its really more complex then this game at the end, 25-40 man raids, 3 talent trees, 7 toon classses, lots of combinations, 71 talent points, and that game talents give you skills so you have to think alot more, I dont play it any longer but I do at least admit its a well structured game. Play STO for 3 days and you will barely get out of Tier 2 meaning you will just have a couple buttons also man. Tier 1 ship has 3 weapons... you face the enemy, pop your "buff" and band bang... same as any mmo at the begining. Pritty dull.. its the "novelty" of the game that captivates you at that point, im assuming you like star trek so that naturally makes this game more "fun". I was just using wow as an example for the specs, that were not asking to fofill multiple rolls, just asking to spec into the different sub-games without sacrificing enjoyment in the primary focus of the game. or paying real money for it

Oh I am not saying I know much if anything at all about WoW, like I said I lasted all of 3 days playing it and it just felt sooo kiddish its not even funny. I on the other hand chose Age of Conan even with all its faults, yet another game pushed out the door by the publisher, not the developer as i believe was the case here as well because of the intense melee where you chose to attack from the right, left, top or bottom, it took real skill to play at the top levels as well as dungeons. It was to me a more adult type of game than WoW even after reading your description of WoW at higher levels. But AoC caved in to PVE'ers and totally ruined the game for pvp'ers imo and I came here to a game I know because of its genre and my love for all the Star Trek shows and movies.

Pointing fingers at who started this will be a back and forth argument till the end of time, so i'm not even going to go there. Presuming i don't understand the latter parts of this game because i haven't experienced them yet fully is wrong considering how much i've looked into things. I'm very prepared for what comes around at Admiral. I've been a Healer throughout my time with Wow and i've continued this trend with STO. I know exactly how my Captain will look soon.
During my first term, i generally did a mission a night followed by a few Defend the wherever objectives, thats if i was lucky. Some people may be able to do much more, but when i'm out and about with assignments or head down in my written work because of my studies, its very difficult to get any form of play time. Being my first term i put everything into my studies, and achieved an excellent starting grade. Those off drinking each and every night, well, they weren't so well rewarded with their outcomes. Right now today, on my birthday (:p) i'm about to hit Rear Admiral Lower Half. These last few days after the Christmas chaos i've managed to sit in front of my Mac and really plough through my mission log. I'm getting there, maybe not as fast as the majority, but i'm in no way in the bracket of not knowing much of what this game does offer. Yet i'm under no illusion that there isn't a whole lot more to understand, because i find STO pretty deep in comparison to other MMO's.
We've both derailed the very message that this topic is about. I still stand by the idea that talent calculators and your general play time void the need to buy respecs through the C-Store, and that is really all there is to it.
And no, i'm not trying to belittle your profession any more than you were with the ideology of killing as your job. While i may respect the service people of this world, i don't agree with why or what they are doing there. If its about freedoms, there are countries that need the help far more than the media-driven terrorist concerned yet oil rich countries of the Middle East, but thats a whole different topic and a completely different forum site in general. Enjoy your holidays in the Bahamas.

But anyway, there are a lot of things I do not like about the current skill system..... may be it should be reworked all over^^
Dual Spec can allow us to circumvent this discussion.
I appreciate your input, just wait though.. your a CPT8, when you get to the top, look at options, start squezing out every ounce of skill out of your toon you will see quickly that the option of never getting to respec again unless you pay will hit you harder and faster then you expected.
I didnt respec once untill I was VA or LG for a few weeks then started changing things up
Dude your argument invalid, and asinine. This is a game NOT MIT.
see... completely valid points.. but its like all these people just skim over these facts as if there not there simply to proove there point of view...
To me its a fair tradeoff considering more of the gameplay I enjoy is space.
ha ha ha.. glad that made you feel better, the irony.. you call me an idiot for cursing then curse at me yourself... sadly I am sure I am far more ejumacated then you, I just dont let the inner nerd out to much, in my line of work you actually need to be a bit tough...
Sooo have a nice day
Hey, here is an idea, spend more time playing then typing, sound good? Great!
I was just using wow as an example for the specs, that were not asking to fofill multiple rolls, just asking to spec into the different sub-games without sacrificing enjoyment in the primary focus of the game. or paying real money for it
In most cases PvP and PvE specs means different equipment and not different skill builds.
