Well, I found a great way to pay only 9.99 per month for a subscription rather than the 15 I pay right now....
at walmart and target and a lot of other stores the STO game is only 9.99 ...so if I go and buy 1 a month and enter the code for the free month of play I can save 5 bucks a month on subscription....
Maybe STO should lower the monthly rates to the 9.99 price??? I mean geeze if we gotta buy stuff from the c-store anyways why not offer us monthly subscribers a break in the price? In the long run you will earn more money off the monthly subscribers than the lifetimers....but because the lifetimers gave you their money upfront they get the bonus'? We monthly subs should be able to get the same benefits WITHOUT having to buy it all in the c-store.
Lifetime subscribers put up $300 upfront, which provided a huge cash influx to pay off the debts incurred during development. It made Atari happy. It made Atari's investors happy. It made Zinc sweat a little less and be able to rest (finally) after lengthy hours spent prepping the game for launch.
Anyways, no need to fret, a few lifer perks are already being granted to those who get the Veteran's rewards too, like access to the Captain's Table.

I thought I could get around it like that as well, but if you read carefully in the terms and agreements or something like that, you'll see that you're only allowed one box from each retailer. I.e. if you go to walmart and buy two you should only be able to activate one of the boxes. I tried with two copies from Gamestop (the edition with the DS9 uniforms) and the system would only let me activate one of the boxes.

As far as I am aware, the free month of play only works once per account. So you could do that, except with different accounts.

Without the Lifers, who took the risk and threw down a lump sum of money, they wouldn't of had as much of a budget as they did to pump out the new content over the last few months, who knows where the game would be...
Lets face it, we are getting quite a bit more content per period than most other mmo's, probably due to the C-Store and Lifers.

can only activate the 30 free days once on an account sorry!!
You can add multiple retail boxes and get 30 days each time. I don't know if you can add multiple boxes from the same retailer. If you can, Amazon.com and I are about to become bff.
As it is, I have free sub time until mid April. Good thing I'm starting to like the game again.
This might be important to some, not important to others, but bear in mind that as long as you are playing on free time, your subscription isn't accruing days as a paid account towards Veterans awards, etc. Like I said, might not be important to some, but I can foresee a rage post by someone who does this who is mad about not getting their free respec, etc.

Hmm, I'm not so sure about that. I'm playing on free game time right now and it's counting toward my days played. When I left STO I was at the 99 day count. Upon using a Digital Deluxe key (and getting 30 days with it) I was able to get the 100 day vet award. Checking my account just now shows that it is still counting days for vet awards for me.

Captain's Table is accessable with Veteran's Rewards? How? Where?
Then move to Roanoke, Virginia. There's a place on Williamson called "The New Yorker Delicatessen" where you can get 18 inch long submarine sandwhiches that are 4-5 inches thick for only about $6. And this isn't mostly bread either. It's packed with meat, cheese, and veggies. All the things Subway and Quiznos are extremely stingy with the New Yorker piles into their subs. The vast majority of people who have one of the subs there end up stuffed by the time they finish half the sandwhich, let alone the other half. It's a cheaper sandwhich than anywhere else and you get a lot more at a higher quality.
