I have one and I love it. The way I have it set up I use the gamepad with my left hand and my mouse with my right. I don't use the keyboard at all anymore. The joystick is great to steer the ship in space.

I use two profiles, one for space and one for ground. Plus you can set up macros.

Thanks for that. Can you configure it so you can solely use the gamepad and have no need for the mous?

I was trying to decide between the G13 and one of the keyboards. Based on comments in the forums I went with the G13 and I'm glad I did. Can't imagine dogfighting without it.

You probably could. The hard part would be configuring it for all your powers. I don't think there are enough buttons on the gamepad.

I'm a huge fan of the G-series keyboards. If you are thinking about getting one, as a gamer this is a must they can be macroed to one touch all your clt+ and alt+ keys making you quicker and more efficient. This is very important for PvPers and I'd put money on that all the best PvPers use a device such as the G13.

The screan can be used to reference your in game health, your computer performance or your vent chat data. It is a great buy for any MMO gamer.

I have one but I don't use the G13 for STO. I still use my G19 'cause I can't seem to get the hang of the command locations. Either that, or I haven't found/setup a decent control scheme for it. :)

I don't usethe g13, but instead the steelseries, formerly ideazon, FANG. all the keys are intuitively fanned out and wiothin very easy reach, particluarly the WASD/QE buttons in a butterfly like arrangement with the # keys in 2 rows, 1-11, just above. definitely worth trying

I love the G-13 for STO. For space I use the thumb stick for the throttle and the mouse to maneuver.

    I have G20 as control.
    G15 is shift.
    G16 is alt.
Then G7 starts out as 1 and goes right to left with G1 being 7.
G14 is eight and it moves right to left with G10 being =.
G19 is F or use in other games
This is the program with all my MMO's it seems to work really well.

With my pinky to press control, shift or alt or control and shift or alt and shift with the numbers I need for my abilities.

On the ground I use my thumb stick to move forward, backward and left and right turning with the mouse.

Love my G13, I've got space/ground/harvesting modes set on it. You don't need anyone's setups, you put stuff where it is comfortable for you. Just try things in different places until you have a setup you don't need to think about and then have a great time playing.

I also have the G13 and love it! I use it for STO, SWG and DC Online as well as all my FPS games. The LCD is a great addition that allows for "at a glance" info. Macros are also easy to configure and use. As an added bonus to the geek gamer like me, the gameboard itself has several color options.

I also had the N52 which is, in my opinion, more comfortable but the G13 is easier to use and more versatile.

Here's a review of the top 3 gameboards.
