If it's anything like my company it'll be like:

    ServerHead: Networks fault.
Network Guy: It was the firewall.
Firewall Dude: Frak that, it was the server.

This isn't maintenance. This is server crashing. I wonder how far they're going to have to rollback in order to get it to stay up.

Thing is, this is not a maint day as there were no scheduled maint, the servers crashed earlier today, came back up for about 15 mins, and crashed again.

I recall reading last night on the launcher that the server would be down this morning.

If so, why are they labeling it unexpected downtime now?

I never saw that message yesterday at all.. You must be thinking of the maint they did earlier this week...

No idea. Maybe NOW it's unexpected but I'm 98% sure I read that it was going to be down some time this morning.

Maybe someone defeated the Crystalline Entity and the subsequent shockwave knocked out the fiber cable feeding to the server :D

I could have sworn when I logged in for the last time last night (around 11pm EST) that there was a message about it. It's possible I'm wrong. Either way, no QQing allowed. :P

I saw nothing about it in the launcher, and if it were it would also be posted on the forum ^ that'a way.

Its a server crash, it happens.

There was an announced maintenance of the servers for earlier this morning, but there appears to be a delay beyond the announced period, (hence unexpected issue...) with bringing the servers back up...

    Double Crash :(

I hope is not something major....

Have any of you experience multiple crashes of STO since beta?

Obviously the tears from the forums from the first outage short-circuited the server forcing it to come down again.

This is the power of forum tears.

I am reminded of my favorite TNG episode.

Wesley Crusher: Shields are back up.
    Riker: Impeccable timing.
    *Enterprise powers down*
Wesley Crusher: Sheilds are back down.
Ensign At Tactical: Phaser banks are down.
    *Enterprise powers back up*
Wesley Crusher: Shields are back up!
Troi: In another time or place this could be funny.

Why? It's a fun episode. It makes me laugh, even though it wasn't trying to.

    "Self correcting mechanism." :p

Mind you favorite ≠ best. ;) Favorite just means the one that I enjoy watching the most.

Season 2 is collectively the worst season of TNG. Nothing good came from it except for Riker's beard.
