well if you right about a crash thats even worse then the guy forgetting to inform us. because for all we know any worker that is at cryptic might not know game crashed.

That's what I was thinking. I was mid-mission too... : \
Looks at least like a crash of the login server. Either that or the "facility manager" has plugged the server off in order to use the electricity for his vacuum cleaner.
Aye lols obviously its unscheduled maintenance because clearly yesterdays maintenance needs to be done again today for some reason... and without notice this time
Yep have to agree with you very annoying was doing the final undine mission I blasted through all this TRIBBLE rescued the prisoners lead this crazy alien down a trail to a gate and when i went up to examine the gate disconnected ... right at the end
rrrrrrrraaaggeeeeee
Unless Cryptic be fixing the brel right now this aint cool
from a post i remember reading months ago, the server undergoing maintenance message on the website is automated... its then up to the devs or GMs to provide additional info.
This means that in the event of a system crash the website automatically displays server undergoing maintenance

there will be someone there. hopefully he just has to restart it assuming they dont have some kind of external technical fault with their hardware/ip provider etc.

Hope it's just simple to fix, but if it's external, it can and will take some time...

Obviously you've never been around a large server/network environment. I am sure they are well aware that there is a problem with the server. The server status went into maintenance mode almost immediately when we all got kicked. I'm sure the Network Ops team runs a tight ship and knew there were issues before we did. This isn't your home network where the first response is always WTF? They didn't "forget" to inform us, once the night shift is done scrambling around troubleshooting the problem I'm sure they will let us know what's up.

Normally I would call you all a bunch of whiners and say get a life ... but we do pay monthly for this game. It would be different if we weren't paying for a service. So ... you may continue whining.

Anyway, yes, it's bloody annoying.
the servers have crashed and they are trying to pass it off as maintenance
Welcome back to beta
If it was a server crash I apologise, these things happen.
Ha, I was leveling my Klingon, too. Maybe up for some sort of leveling-round after the maintenance is over?
That's what I was thinking. I was mid-mission too... : \
now that's what happens if staff is allowed to enjoy themselves during the holidays
cryptic: next year keep 'em locked and keep 'em hungry.
So it is either an emergency maintenance or a server crash...
Anyway let's bet how long it takes to bring them back online.

10 mins server maintenance
5 mins server maintenance etc
It is clear they have crashed.
It must be the one year reward come early
When trying to reenter, it stood at "connecting to login server" for minutes. Might have been the login server that got assimilated... Bad Borg, bad!

NOOOO theres noone at Cryptic to fix it!!!!!
My life is worthless now!

I think its this really ^^^
This just reminded me of the Beta lol - FUN TIMES! Im sure itll get sorted soon enough, these things happen all the time
CO is still running so I doubt it has something to do with their provider (Until they forgot to pay their STO bills.
Hope it's just simple to fix, but if it's external, it can and will take some time...

It's a conspiracy... the Federation strikes again! *shifty eyes*
In that case, it might be his last day on the job
Well it must not be an external issue... Tribble is still up and accepting logins. Wish I'd copied my character over recently.
