This might be Dip points grubbing...

...but has anyone else been thinking that on mission where we rescue diplomats and as they beam out tearfully exclaim "I won't forget this." perhaps we should get a little diplomacy experience?

Or how about a little bit of back patting from Jiro if we complete a mission where we save some diplomatic personnel?

Maybe a mission from them later to rescue a friend of theirs with a nice cash reward. They feel you are capable enough since you saved them. I find that making EC in this game is quite hard really so a reward by means of payment might be better than XP and SP in some cases.

    Possible scenario:
This mission is off the record so it can't go on your Starfleet report, so instead of the usual Starfleet rewards, I can offer you payment in EC.

My very good friend [insert name here] went to [insert planet name] and got kidnapped by a rebel faction there. I fear for his safety but Starfleet won't get involved in the planets political dispute, even though it's one of our own people who is being held hostage. I would like you to go and rescue him but it can't be seen that Starfleet is involved. If anyone questions me, I don't know anything about it. Keep it off the record, get my friend back and I'll transfer a reasonable fee to your account for it.

I totally like this idea. I too am terrible at getting money in game. And my "grubbing" :) aside, having new missions unlock because of my actions in completing previous missions feels more immersive. I like the idea of past actions coming back to reward--or haunt--me.
